Great video Matt. Tuning is such a critical component to consistent accuracy. Hopefully with the audience you reach this will become even more widely adopted & put into place.
What is weird is that the arrows I built liked 165gr tip. I accomplished this with size 10 brass lock washers. They weigh about 5 grains each. Then by constantly turning the fletching I was able to walk my field tips hit same hole groups at 30 yards. Then I walked my mechanicals to that same hole. And then I was able to walk my magnus stingers to that same hole. Lots of stripping and reflecting but I now have a dozen arrows hitting same hole groups no matter what tip is installed 😅. Lots of work but now all I need to shoot is the target tips for practice knowing that what ever tip I screw on will hit exactly the same as all the others. Whew that was a mouthful 😀 Great video !! Good luck this season!!
As a reloader, I can totally understand all of this. However, as a hunter, I think the bow is probably more accurate then I am in the field with my cheap Walmart arrows lol. Repeatability is most important IMO. Thanks for sharing!
I'm trying to get ready for deer season and I would definitely appreciate your input on which 405 killer instinct crossbow and what grain bolt I should use thank you sir 👍👍
Premium: SWAT X1 Mid: Diesel X Best deal: Vital X All great, just depends on what you want and your budget. I personally would like bare minimum 450 grains, ideal is 500-550 depending on what flies best in that range for the given bow/arrow shaft you choose. Good luck this fall!
Great video. I have done all of this in the past now I prefer to just use a spine tester and find and mark the spine and fletched them all the same and they all shoot the exact same from my swat x1
Good information. My question is when you shoot your broad heads to find the best one for each arrow what do you do with them once you figure them out? Do you sharpen the blades or replace the blades? I know it would not be ethical to hunt with a broad head that has less than razor sharp blades.
Im gonna get a bow very soon, should I get the Barnett Whitetail hunter 2 or killer instinct boss 405 or lethal 405. My first bow just starting hunting. Appreciate the feedback!
@@draggindeeroutdoors my budget is under $330 id prefer to use Amazon but under $330 what are my best options? And I really appreciate you answering, blessings!
The fixed blades need to be aligned a certain way in conjunction with the fletching too. Much work and very much time however my confidence is as high as it can go !
Thanks for putting all the podcasts and conversations into one video. This has helped me a lot
You’re welcome, happy this helped!

You Should link your "Crossbows and Single Bevels: You Have to Knock tune" to this video.
It helped me connect the dots further.

@@jeffmontgomery6891 I resharpen them. Good question!!
Do you happen to fletch your own bolts? If so could you do a video on that?
Yes, often times I do fletch my own arrows. I’ll add that to the video list
Can you talk about nocks. If I hunt with light nocks should I tune the arrows with those nocks vs the light plastic nocks that came with the arrows.
I can do a video on that!

In that price point range, I’d got Vital X

@@draggindeeroutdoors and would you recommend the xp 380? What's your best few suggestions for under $330 thank you.
Isn't the 110 gr insert a different size than the 65 gr? the diameter?
Nope same diameter just longer

High confidence is what we're striving for! Thanks, Michael!
3, Rivers and ethics archery and Sirius archery have all the point weight progression
Thanks for letting everyone know this, Sam!
I meant hunting with Lumenok nocks
