    That method to wire up the front camera is honestly super helpful. I was thinking about doing it the way the instruction showed that involved cutting the firewall rubber grommet but felt it was a bit sketchy. Now it’s removable if needed and doesn’t require having a random hole somewhere it should not be.

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  2 месяца назад

      Ricky I was thinking the same thing. I don’t want to puncture a hole and then you have to cover it up when you decide to remove the front camera later. So far it’s been working really well using the door gap.

    Hi Myong, your video is very informative and intuitive. Thank you for it. It seems that you also live in SD/Temecula area. If I am not able to install this myself, do you by chance know any shop that can do it in the SD/Temecula area? Thank you.

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  9 дней назад

      What’s up Peter. I don’t know a local shop that will do it. I also won’t do it. I tried to help someone once on his Tesla 2018 and his car wouldn’t start! It went back to normal when I disconnected it but I had a scare for sure. He found a technician in LA who does it and did it without a problem.

     @CameraToFreedom Another feature I learned with this display is that if you press one time on the right scroll wheel you can easily swap between the standard screen UI and Android Auto/Carplay assuming the connection has already established and 1 swift motion you can toggle between the camera and standard screen UI. I think that is a pretty good feature. Was wondering if you can confirm that is the case.
    Also does this display have the blue Autopilot nag? I was reading that it doesn't in the current firmware but I am not sure if this info is outdated.

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  3 месяца назад

      Yes, that is correct. Every time I come into the car, it will automatically connect to my phone and switch the screen to CarPlay mode and I always end up swiping on the right side. Scroll because I like the original display better when I’m not using Apple CarPlay, but I end up doing that every single time I get in the car. It’s not a big deal but it’s only one second to switch screens.

    I’m debating about getting the camera with it. I have strong doubts that the tape will hold the camera over the long term. Thoughts?

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  2 месяца назад

      So far so good. Use a better tape if you need. I just rather do that instead of puncturing a hole in that firewall area. Or you don’t actually need the camera and save yourself the hassle since the camera install takes time. Took me so long just for the camera!

      Once you’re on cruise control or auto pilot or full self driving, then that dial becomes the speed control and not the camera. Very clever the way they did it.

      Thank you, Kris for your comment. I didn’t show it in this video because at the time Tesla gave us FSD and it didn’t show any animation when FSD was on but now that I have auto pilot again it shows the blue line animation plus the rainbow Street animation on display.

    Can someone measure the height of the screen? Trying to figure out if it'll block less air then the 6.8". Also, does it have auto-pilot (FSD) nags? One of the review pictures seems to show that.

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  2 месяца назад +1

      I think it’s shorter than the 6.8 and that’s why I picked this one. When I had FSD for that free month there wasn’t any animation that appeared except for the blue lines. But on auto pilot now, it has a blue lines and the rainbow Road.

    Hi Myong, I’ve been following your YT videos for quite some time now. I love your work.
    I do have a small question regarding this device I bought: ruclips.net/video/7mHmcsCN2jU/видео.html

    I was able to install it into my 2024 Model 3 Performance but I seem to be having 2 issues:
    1. I couldn’t put the camera wire through the rubber part inside the frunk so I did it your way (through the passenger door, under the rubbers, and taped it). Although this is by far an easier way to do it I wonder if you have experienced any wear and tear on the cable yet. I’m afraid the covering on the wire will wear out from vibrations when driving and expose the wire inside, then it will short out.
    2. Regarding sound: I’m able to play sound coming from the 8.8” device on my Tesla (by selecting Bluetooth in the Tesla dropdown menu) but when I do that I can’t listen to the Telsa radio anymore. Is this normal? Do you have to choose between all audio from the 8.8 screen or all audio from Tesla? It would be handy if I could listen to the radio on the Tesla and hear directions from Waze (carplay) through the speakers as well.

    Keep up the good work!

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  27 дней назад +1

      Andy! I appreciate you sending me this comment!
      1. My wires haven’t had any wear or tear. I put a little tape over it too and it’s been good. It’s also tucked into the rubber that’s on the cars since there there little gaps that lets you tuck it in.
      2. Yeah the Bluetooth and radio needs its own channel. Even if you’re not using the screen, when you pick radio, it stops audio communicating with your phone then when you click on Bluetooth for your phone audio, it stops radio. You can’t do both at the same time. Interesting tech huh. I can understand it but I’m sure they will create a new tech that can handle multiple inputs at the same time.
