THANK YOU for this video explainer! I found and used a 6' (conduit) breaker bar, some muscle, and... it worked! You're a genius with this idea! - even though it may not be a 'new' idea. Blade replacement is secondary to getting that stuck bolt off! Your video title came up with my google search words. Just what I was looking for! Thanks again!!
After an hour of trying to get my darn stuck bolt off I found this video and it took me about 1 minute after watching this video to get it off so THANK U!
Yes he was going to put the grass back on the lawn as he cut too much off . Does that help . I cut my grass the other day and it left bald patches as the grass was dry and dead.
Breaker bar is your best bet. You will have more leverage if you use a 3' or longer bar. Have a friend help so you can use all the leverage. Don't use a torch to heat the bolt. Good luck.
What else do u call that breaker bar because if you go to Bunnings they just look at you funny and the breaker bar they suggest is not what I'm after at all
You probably fixed it by now, but do you know anyone with an impact wench? That's your best bet and the least hassle if it happens again in the future, especially if corroded and nothing else works.
Should've sharpened the blade not replaced it. You can do this with a hand file and a vice. Aren't we supposed to be reparing things and not replacing them because we cant be bothered to do some (not very) hard work?
@@diyhomeownerhero5250 No it was dam near perfect it could of been sharpened 20 times you can buy a cheap angle grinder on sale probably for less than you paid for a new blade. I sharpen a blade around every 10 cuts . Did you remove the spark plug wire for safety? You should of also used a block of wood instead of holding the blade with a wrapped up shirt.
@@BabashiSensei lol, hes right though, it is backwards, it wasn't stuck, and could of easily been sharpened and last but not least it wasn't bent. you should be ashamed of this video😂

Did you go anticlockwise left or clockwise right?
Counter clockwise is actually turning to your left dude. Just saying. Thanks for sharing though
Great video. Very informative. Is the new blade pre sharpened? As to you didn’t mention that after putting it on.
Did anyone else notice he put the blade on backwards? Notice how the blade is sitting before he takes it off and then watch how he puts it back on.

crucial turning of the bolt is completely blocked by your arm! So are we turning counter or clockwise? sheesh!
Plus block of wood is safer
I need to do this asap im tire of the vibration and going over the lawn twice cuz old blade dosnt cut
Did you put that blade out side down ??or my vision is wrong ?
It's hard to see at the angle but it is on correctly. I'm making a follow up video soon with a clearer view.
Yes he did. The fins should be facing up not down.
@@scottedwards2618 totally....supposed to be "wings up"
Lol definitely upsidedown

The worst part of this video is the thumbnail is a lie... What are the "5 tips"
What part of STUCK do I not understand
No. Your bolt wasn’t stuck... not like mine which is fused on and won’t budge... I need real tips for super stubborn bolt nut insanity.

Same...might just cut the asshole bolt off and buy a new one xD

You put the blade (which wasn't stuck in the first place) the wrong way round...
Got your right and left backwards...

Yeah replacing the blade every year is pretty not smart. If it’s any good a file shouldn’t work on it though unless it’s a diamond file. Belt sander
5 easy tricks to do this wrong.
Now get the adaptor off without the special tool and I'll be impressed🙄
Don't put the mower on its side rule 1
Swingback blades are a bitch to hold
Ever hear about sharpening a blade? Nothing wrong with that old one. Also you just installed the new blade on backwards
If you have a grinder you can sharpen it. I didn't since my blade was old and needs to be replaced.
