I remembered having tears rolled uncontrolably listening this song for the first time, I thought it was a Bach piece, and she does ballads, pop, jazz and this.?.She is a singing machine: her fluency and readability making her one of the most respected singer in the music world. Taken too song, RIP

    Go softly goodbye
Life is like an empty dream
    Lost in the sky
    I see through my tears
    The sadness of years
    The shadows of happiness passing
I will miss the sun when you go
I will miss the mornings of laughter and tears
Your hello and more than this as you go
Gone is the light from the day
Gone is the pleasure of night
And when you go no more welcoming love
    Or a dream
    So goodbye my love
    Goodbye
    So my love
    Go gently goodbye
Memories of loving you never will die
    My longing will pass
    My loving will last
The whispers of time never dimming
I will miss your touch when you go
I will miss the wonder of magical love
As it grows and more than this when you go
Gone is the warmth of your smile
Now is the coldness of snow
Gone when you go is the welcome of love
    And the dream
    So goodbye, my love
    Goodbye

My absolutely favorite Dusty song. It is just devastatingly beautiful and powerful. Nothing she has ever done before comes close to this song. It is the ultimate love song, and I could go on and on about it but you be the judge.

It's the music of Johann Sebastian Bach that added beauty to this song. I was only listening to Paul Mauriat's version until I came across Dusty's version with lyrics. Very beautiful. Thanks for posting.

Corno di Bassetto Paul Mauriat recorded it under the title “Cent Mil Chanson.” Mauriat’s past tempo “Goodbye” was a cover version of Paul McCartney composition that was originally recorded by Mary Hopkin. Cent Mil Chansons was a Bach composition.

Go My Love - ("Cent Mille Chansons"
    )

Yes...only on one I believe! "Come For A Dream - The UK Sessions 1970-1971." Another shame is that this is the only one I've ever seen here on You Tube and if they ever remove it....that's it!.

@@Kuklapolitan The 'Goodbye' from the cd you mentioned is not the same song as the one from the videoclip. The one from the clip - music by JS Bach - is featured on three cd's: The Legend of DS (Philips 522 254-2) Dusty The Original Pop Diva (Universal 9836024) and The DS Anthology (Mercury 314.501-2).
