    1:25 - I assume you’re referring to my Pegasus 41 video… it was a bag of sh*t… does that mean I’m not mature? I paid my own money for that shoe, to be let down and disappointed at Nikes clear lack of innovation…
    I call a spade a spade, it’s a shame when others can’t

    • @AubreyRunning

      Andy… I’ve seen many reviews call shoes that including yours. I respect you way too much and to be quite frank I’m too much of a fan of what you do and who you are to even infer that you’re immature. The maturity point is simply, solely and strictly about me as a reviewer on RUclips and finding my own way of doing this.
      We will be different as reviewers and maturity to me, is finding my own way and style and sticking to it.
      The tough thing about this shoe review stuff is that it embodies the expression “one man’s rubbish is another’s treasure”. I know people that LOVE the Pegasus 40 and 41. It’s all relative at the end of the day.

    Nowadays, it is often difficult to express your opinion when you don't like something that others really enjoy, without someone feeling attacked. So, another very, very strong video from you again.

    The adios pro 3 and the Takumi sen 8/9/10 didn't work for me due to the cut out in the midsole by the little toe as I supinate and it makes it feel really unstable. So sad as I love the feel of lightstrike pro.
    Appreciate the honesty as usual Aubrey!

    Same problem with the Takumi. Boston 12 does the same but love the Pro 3, I think because it’s so inflexible. I love reviews that go into things like that. Helps me figure out who my feet may vibe with, reviewer wise.

      The crazy thing is that it’s such an amazing shoe. The technology in that shoe is amazing. It’s a high performer for most people. For the 5 to 10K distance, not many shoes compare. But just didn’t work for me

    I got a pair of Saucony Endorphin speed 3’s. When I first wore them I really didn’t like them. However, eventually, at about the 40 mile point, I started to feel different about them. I realized I was comparing them to my Novablast 3’s. I love my Novablast, but the two shoes are very different. The speed 3’s are a little more nimble with a little less comfort. They feel better when I pick up the pace. I really like my speed 3’s now, and I think I would like another pair while they are still available. Both shoes work for me.

    Good points, when I started learning about shoes all I heard was (on videos) how great the hoka Mach 4 was, bought it and absolutely didn’t work for me, seemed like a rough ride and bottom showed wear in like 3 runs, but to this day still see them at 5-10k’s. No tread left of course….

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  13 дней назад +1

      I’m learning that they are all great shoes… but not all of them are for us. Maturity is distinguishing between the 2.

    Shoes that didn't work for me:
    New Balance 840 X fresh foam - way too soft and on a 10k run after 5k they seemed to have lost any cushioning effect they had in the beginning. Quality was also bad with some plastic parts of the tongue sticking out at the side.
    Adizero SL (1). Too narrow and too high, felt very unstable.
    Puma Liberate Nitro 2 - lovely for walking but I think the low drop needs some time to get used to. I felt pain in the backside of my knees.
    Asics Novablast 3. Too narrow and even when only standing it felt like my feet were slipping off the midsole.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  13 дней назад +1

      We will all have a few shoes for sure. I think the difference for me is that I now distinguish between a bad shoe and a shoe that didn’t work for me

      @@AubreyRunningsame here. Many people like the Novablast or Adizero SL. Both didn't work for me. Just like the NB 840. I think the Puma Liberate Nitro 2 would probably work once I get used to the low drop.

    For me, Neo Vista didn’t work for me as a super trainer. Skyward X on the other hand is awesome! I think at 170lbs, I’m too heavy for the Neo Vista, while the Skyward gives me that bounce that makes running fun.

    • @TimGrose
      @TimGrose 13 дней назад +1

      Doesn’t sound that heavy to me. I am not far off! Not tried the Neo Vista as think for my relatively narrow feet those bootie uppers only need to be a bit wider than ideal for me to get so much folding trying to lock them down. That said is the foam just too soft? I had that problem few years ago in the Rebel v2

    • @RyKnocks
      @RyKnocks 13 дней назад +1

      @@TimGrose Yea, I feel like the foam is too soft and not much rebound for how thick it is. I’ve often likened it to a Nimbus with a plate. Just didn’t do anything for me.

    Was the Takumi Sen 10 too narrow for you do you think? Did you try the 8 or 9 which I did but haven’t got the 10 so wonder if there was anything different about the 10.

    • @TheBsheep
      @TheBsheep 13 дней назад

      I think the past versions the energy rods were carbon infused but in the 10 they are glass fiber infused...so it gives it a different ride from previous versions. 10 is the same stack height as the last 2 versions but Adidas said "they tweaked the midsole". I heard it gives it a slightly firmer/snappier feel.

    • @AubreyRunning

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  13 дней назад +1

      My issue with the Sen 10 was the upper. At the crease on the big toe joint. The midsole is PERFECT. It’s definitely fine tuned for performance.

    Used to use Nike Pegasus a lot for my easy runs and even some long runs. I replaced my worn out 36’s with a 37 and instantly hated them. They felt like bricks on my feet and were hard and slappy. I gave them away after a few 100km’s and have never gone back. I hear the word React with Nike and I start to gag! Much better daily’s like NB 1080’s or Saucony Triumph’s. Nike daily trainers are crap and have been for 5 years…their race shoes however are 🔥
