Actually I am working with open source software called Discourse. In my search queries Discourse Analysis came up again and again so I got curious lol. Your video helped me a lot to understand this. Thanks! And actually I discovered that there is a relationship between forum software and DA. DA can bring more clarity to the changes I make to this software. And actually the structure of this software defines the structure of the discourse online somehow.
is it possible by any chance that you know the relationship between discourse structure and language? i'm really having a hard time in understanding and finding the answer of this question.
It depends on what point of view do you want to use to analyze the discourse. If you know that, you can see the relation. For example, if you want to see the discourse of culture, you can see the culture within the language use by analyzing the word choices.

Text may refer to written or spoken. You will need to consider between written language and spoken language before proceeding to written and spoken text. There are some cases that people write spoken language; it is indeed a written text using spoken language.

It will be based on the text and the purpose of the analysis itself. When we want to focus on the social, for instance, we need Sociolinguistics. Etc.
