    I carry the EDC X9 so I got one of these as a deeper concealment option. Softest and most accurate sub compact pistol I’ve ever shot. Also the most expensive so that might run some people off. I was hardly carrying it so I sold it but now I wish I had kept it as an option. Guess I need to start saving up the pennies again.

    Happy (new) Wilson Combat customer.
    Preface: I’m not former LEO/military, I just enjoy shooting at the range and I carry all the time (except where prohibited in TX) for personal protection. I’m a 67 yr old lady, 5’2” & have small hands.
    I’ve wanted to add a Wilson Combat pistol to my EDC options for a couple of years. I finally “pulled the trigger” on the purchase of an SFX9 3.25 2 days ago. Put 150 rnds through it at the range yesterday. ❤️
    Trigger: I LOVE the trigger on this pistol!!! I don’t know what the pull tests at but it feels like it’s only 2 lbs. ❤️🔥❤️ It’s not too snappy, in spite of its size.
    Sights: I don’t have the RDS on it. It came with red (would prefer green) fiber optic FS and iron RS. Considering RDS. 🤷‍♀️ It came with an additional red fiber optic included.
    Mags: It came with 2 WC mags: 1 10-rnd & 1 15-rnd.
    Price: I know it’s expensive; however, I hold Wilson Combat’s research, design, engineering, manufacturing, and customer support services in high esteem AND it’s handcrafted quality & reliability “Made in America”!
    ❤️🇺🇸❤️

    Just wanted to let everyone know what Wilson is like to deal with as a company. They are simply awesome! I did a full rebuild of my SR1911 commander. It was expensive and worth every penny. My SR1911 has 3 ruger parts and the rest it Wilson. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong main spring housing. So I followed the return instructions and in no time I got the replacement. To my utter shock I was only charged wholesale for the replacement part. And they 2nd day airmailed the replacement part to me. Ending up with a $29 dollar refund. I'm so impressed! And the V grip housing is perfect for my hand. As for accuracy... it now shoots exactly the same as my target Kimber. The bullet proof line of parts is some really good stuff. Thank you Wilson!

Several years back it occurred to me that I had lots of good guns but did I really need 5 different Glocks or Sig P226’s or beretta 92’s and that when it hit me… I contacted a Wilson dealer (Nighthawk as well) that does layaway. So, I paid $300 for deposit and ordered my first Wilson - and stopped buying multiples of guns I already had. So you pay a little here and there as they build the gun - which can take a year (sometimes more, sometimes less) and when the dealer gets the gun you have 6 months layaway! This spreads out the purchase and makes it a lot easier - so now I have accumulated a collection that anyone can have but it just takes time.

      The real issue is the problematic feeding geometry when going to the very stubby .45 configurations. The feed ramp angle becomes exessively steep, and contributes to “failure to go into battery” malfunctions. A Pro model (4” bbl) is about as short as one might go for reliability in a .45 ACP 1911.

    Stop telling people to slave the dot to their irons!! They are independent sighting systems. You don't slave your dot or LVPO on a rifle to the irons so stop telling people to do it with a red dot on a pistol.

    • @russdennis7026
      @russdennis7026 2 года назад +2

    • @wwells3956
      @wwells3956 2 года назад +1

      Hiding the red dot behind the front site is a general way to do the initial adjustment of the red dot on target. What you were seeing in the video was the adjustment but In use the red dot will appear above the sites centered in the glass not behind the sites which would defeat the use of the dot. There seems to be some confusion about terms and techniques here. The concept is hard to understand unless you actually use a red or green dot site but it makes sense. I have found this to be an excellent way to get started and really have not seen the need to use other fine tune techniques although I am aware of them. If the iron sites are on target then the red dot will be on target using a superimposition technique for initial adjustment.

      @@runningbear6391 Nah. Springfield just released a subcompact XD in 10mm, soooo... If you can't handle 10mm/45 in a small package then that's YOUR preference. There are people that aren't as recoil sensitive as others, like me, who actually prefer big bore, yes, even in smaller guns. I remember even as a kid shooting a full sized 1911, and not thinking, "Man, that kicks a lot!" I didn't even think about it. I just accepted the recoil as part of the operation, and trained with it. I've been hooked on 1911s ever since, and can shoot that 45 as fast as my friends' do their nines. Your mileage may vary, but things such as recoil and weight aren't the disadvantage a lot of people tout them as. Yes, they may take more time to master, but oftentimes, the things that require the most time tend to be the most worthwhile. Peace and love, and above all else, train, train, train.

    Hey folks, I have zero experience with a specific thing mentioned in this video, and I was wondering if any of you could help me. I've seen some of the recent handguns with two-piece frames that have the grip-magazine well as a separately-attached assembly, as mentioned at 0:48. But has anyone ever even heard of a single example where such two-piece construction caused ANY manner of problem? I figured some more experienced soul on this forum would know. Thanks in advance for your help.

      I have yet to see a single argument for having a red dot on an EDC/defensive carry gun. If you require an optic for engagements inside of 7 yards - which are most defensive encounters - you don’t need a Red Dot, you need more range time. I feel the same way about those 14 round mags on a “micro.” I’ll take the 8 rounds on my Sig P938 and my iron night sights and my regular training schedule and you can have your red dot and 14 rounds. Beautiful gun, though. Almost bought one but decided instead on a Langdon/Springfield XD-E and bought a car with the money I saved.

    Why are you going for a full sized grip and sub compact slide?
    That's the inverse for a good conceal pistol. Long slide, short grip conceals best.
    This recent spike in short slide long grip is the wrong direction is wildly illogical. The long slide has no concealment drawbacks

      “The gun in your pocket is always better than the one left on the dresser”
      You only need one trigger and two fingers on the grip. There are short double stacks available right now.
      Also, most short double stacks will take an extended mag if needed.
