Professional musician here: the reason Bas’ voice blends with the bass so well is because he’s hitting the root note of the key of the song (D minor is the key, Bas rapping the note D, the bass is 1 octave lower) I also think they use auto tune to keep his pitch just right, but it’s not supposed to be noticeable like T-Pain-style.
Yeah I think they might have gotten baffled because his cadence pops around a bit using various intervals(like perfect 5ths every now and again). And he has this cockney drawl where the inflection goes down in pitch at the end of certain bars. But yeah, he is mostly just spitting an octave (or two) higher than the 808 tonic notes. Nice comment

If you haven't already, listen to Shuffle or Browns. People tend to lean towards Bas as the better of the 2, but Pete really shines through more on those 2 tracks I think.
07:38 Bas's voice fundamental(lowest note produced by a sound source)...is NOT lower than the bass, but it is well mixed and the low end is nice. Its probably good use of Saturation on the bass and Bas's voice to get it all meshing well . The introduction of Harmonics through saturation on the bass, amplifies the octaves and fiths etc above the fundamental, which btw is partly how you get low end to pop well out of a speaker that does not produce much low end, you excite the Low end element a little above the fundamental so it you can hear the low end. Most good speakers go from 20hz and above, sub bass is 20-30hz and there is not a phone speaker in the world or even a set of ear buds that are capable of properly reproducing that, its just a reality of physical size of the speaker. A lot of ear buds and phone speakers are good from 40-60hz an above. So although it seems like the low end is "higher" in terms of note/sonic spectrum, its NOT. Bass usually starts at 20hz or below and goes right through the mid range up into treble, so the 40-150hz range is being excited (via Harmonics/Saturation) on the low end so most of what you here is around Bas's voice fundamental (which is probably 90-130hz) they are probably exciting slightly below and slightly above Bas's voice fundamental and also cutting the region of that fundamental on the Low end. They are also probably exciting Bas's voice slightly higher , probably in the lower midrange as well as in the treble to get it to cut and also cutting the lower mids on the bass/Lowend BTW I mix, hope this helps, I tried not to use Mix engineer jargon but its impossible to explain without it. Any questions I will be happy to answer or explain any point further It could also be to do with something called "Side Chaining" but that is complicated to explain

People can say what they want about Pete n Bas but these OL Gs are really serious and consistent with there content drops. I give them credit to remember their lyrics to perform! I can't remember 💩 anymore 🤷🏾♂️.. Great work fellas..
Add to your list:
Avelino - Daily Duppy (2023) A ridiculous UK artist..
Salute!!
Salt is rhyming slang for bank vault. Peppered with holes or something?
that ctrl alt del with following home and pg up or down
Cool one would've been
"I CONTROL the clutch
and downSHIFT to ESCAPE
I'm a
TASK MANAGER, plan handler
big gambler..."
yada yada
Na, you can’t go into it too much
Aye that’s exactly right I don’t give a rats ass who writes the song music whatever it’s the way it comes off fucking 🔥
😓😓😓😓It would be a Hater saying "they didn't even write it" especially when they're writing them in the video. 🤦🏿♂️
So you think they’re writing their lyrics to the song while recording a music video? 😂😂😂 oooooook
You talking about who write for them. In the video, they are writing the lyrics to this song.
bas has that old school uk garage voice
Hold up hold up hold up!! Before the video starts! I been waiting on this reaction….ok….*press play*
Another thing if you look closely at the end of video they writing Bas last verse
Ive never seen such perfect reaction channel🎉❤❤❤
When you get peppered, you just got shot gunned. Maybe that's what he meant?
You know what I jus got, its black pellets in buck shots. that's the pepper shouldn't have took me that long to get that
@@AlmostJokingPod w honesty lol
They been floating on the beat like gravity is on vacation in Miami😅😮
Bas comes in like Nate Dog. That's what it reminds me of!
everyone one misses the "ive had the word, i was lumped with cancer" in the intro :( american or not i think it wasnt mixed right tbh. beat has "91shots" on the word "cancer"
Are they seriously not understanding the salt get peppered line lmaooo
Totally subbing love this reaction
He's talking about white on white crime. That first bar was about the person who he's going to pepper with the longethorn shotgun. You missed shotgun to the chess for kickback. That's crazy too
I think what they were writing on the paper lyrics. That's why if you look they are reading
People sleep on the ''never leave a TRACE cause I did him up FREEHAND'' bar.
Crazy bars & dope track; reminds me of Changes
After listening to the song a dozen times, I never caught the crtl+alt+delete line. Damn.
Also yes that is Bas's estate they are doing it on
With salt get peppered means you load a shotgun shell ith rock salt. Making it a non lethal round but extremely painful
