We Indians need to stop feeling excited when something happens to validate or discredit our worth. A word about India, good or bad, seems to bring out the best and worst out of us. Are we really so insecure? If we can't identify our own worth and correct our own shortcomings, then I don't we deserve what we're capable of.

It doesn't matter where he is born n where he married to. He is still of an Indian ethnicity with his belief system. I mean, which demographic is celebrating his raise in India? Is it Muslim or Christian or Sikh... The Hindus becoz he openly says it and took oath on Geeta. So, Hindu demographic naturally celebrate it especially because he is in top position in a Christian country. Then why Indian majority owning him, coz Indian subcontinent is the birth place of Hinduism including a half dozen suspects... Then why Africa not celebrating it? They have been long been converted from their pagon culture to Abrahamic beliefs... More importantly his family is still to date linked to India

I and my friend studied together, we have the same degree from same college.. but he went to London and is earning a crore/year. Hume yaha 15k mil raha hai/month, 6 days a week, 9 to 7 pm and sometimes, I have to give more time as it's a studying job.
Population itni hai that educated people don't get jobs they deserve. There are thousands of people for 1 job, so why would any one pay money?!
The people who are living outside are earning and bettering their future. What's wrong with that?

Educated people will get more jobs when more business are opened. Look at China they are able to give employment because they are opening more business and exporting lot of goods.
This is Job culture should go and Business culture should come.
Look at Tamil Nadu there is good balance of business people and educated job seeking people.
Look at Gujarat so many business are opened.

We celebrate the success of an Indian origin person abroad. In all the developed countries ,only talent matters for the top job, irrespective of your color, religion or faith. What you practice with in the four walls inside house , does not matter. Do not make your faith or religion to decide for your suitability for top job. Unfortunately it is not the case with our country. We shun intelligence and capability when comes to the job and support only incompetentence and mediocre people for the job.

Great insight by both speakers, in particular Mr Dasgupta. Really good discussion.
It's very strange that in India ppl are getting so happy about Rishi getting elected as PM and they start comparing with Sonia. Rishi's family moved from Africa to UK, Rishi is borne and brought up in UK giving him insight of UK culture, history and other things making him more British. While Sonia came to India after marriage and was never got real Indian experience and for same reason this comparison is completely false.
Other point which is put forward is that there is no divide or second thought on the colour of the man, which is wrong. If we remember in first round with Lizz Truss he got lost as members choose her even though Rishi had major backing from MPs and was a clearly technically sound option. That's why probably in second round voting was not taken to the members but was limited to MPs.
Jyoti ji try to keep it as calm, informative discussion rather than hot debate between schoolchildren as we see on other hindi news channel. :)
