The daycare I attended took a group of extra good students to the movies as a reward. THIS WAS THE MOVIE!!! I was six years old at the time. We left before the end of the movie but during a crunching sound of Slithis!!! 🏃🏾♂️🏃♀️🏃💨🦖💨📽️🍿
Wait a minute, what kind of a daycare takes a bunch of 6 year olds to see Spawn of the Slithis? Did child protective services become involved at any point? 😉
@@troyhickman4904it was 1978. I went to a daycare called La petite Academy in Oklahoma City. We went to the movie theaters and because the movie was rated PG we went in until the first crunching sound of our childhood innocence spread throughout the theater. I’m sure there’s a way to fact check this.
Every time I watch Creature Features Fridays is like visiting a video movie store right after work - on pay day :)! With a medium sized barrel of chicken, fries, gravy, cole slaw salad and mac and cheese salad in one hand, (you know the place) - I would romp around the store and look for the best and worst movies around and pick up, (paid) for the films I like to watch. Did I enjoy a great dinner? Yes. Did I learn anything from watching these movies? No. This is what made me the person that I am.
Janet, you almost lost me at a medium bucket of chicken, but hey, you're daintier than me. You know, I think I have learned something from every movie I have ever watched, even if it was just what not to do in my own storytelling (although it's tough to rationalize something like Robot Ninja or Lunch Meat).
Thank you Creature Features for the . . . . umm . . . like . . . this movie on this Friday night. Ummm, I'm glad this movie will be shown ONLY once. And that's it. But hey - it was fun - just for this night.
Saw this in the theater as a kid in the 70's. When you paid for the ticket they gave you a Slithis survival kit. Damn I wish I still had it. Good times.
@robynmarler1951 The best thing to do is just Google search ( Slithis survival kit ) and you will see various cinema history websites with photos of the card, and they explain what it was.
Happier times...late night movies on the weekend. Time to forget school, books and bullies. Fishing during the day...movies and card games in the evening...i like to see the nostalgic things/style from the 70's when i was growing up.
I saw this as a kid. 10 years old with my best friend. It scared and scarred me for years. Every noise I heard at night in the snow I thought was Slithis coming for me. Even practiced jumping out of my second story bedroom window to get away if he came. Every jump scare I was beating on my friend. 😅😅😅
Loved it. Great crab/turtle monster thing… I thought Doug’s Death was too quick… but the ending with the axe flopping around was funny and totally worth watching. If anyone is interested. Thank you , enjoy your weekend.
This movie was fun, but it made 'Jaws 2' (1978) released in the same year and James Cameron's 'Piranha II: The Spawning' (1982) look like masterpieces by comparison. :)
This movie was great! I love B rated scary movies, and i like looking back in times when cell phones and drones didn't ruin things. I also liked the unfiltered humor. 😊. I LOVE CREATURE FEATURE FRIDAYS!!! BLAH BLAH BLAH

After seeing the movie when i was 12 yrs old ( my dad said it was C*** ! but i liked it ! ) I saw the same boat docked in a ventura, Ca. port that was in the film. Now older, i can say this : probably wasn't the best horror film made, but has it's moments. Classic!

The movie was rated PG and it was a different time. We did not last very long in the theater.😱😳🦖

I love the look of 1970s california.
Bold cinematographic choice in the opening scene filming Jerry truffle shuffle in Baywatch slomo as the whimsical soundtrack winds us up to dog gore.

How did the Academy ignore this masterpiece!?

This one is good! Thanks CF!
Love this channel, so much fun, hosts, guests, movies. Tangella's antics.
I remember 1978. Very interesting from a documentary view.
Hy Pyke's performance as the Lieutenant was a real standout.
Yes, it was a HY point in his career. ;)
A movie with a creature! Alright!! Friday can't come soon enough.
Yes, a feature featuring a creature, you might say. ;)
I love your show. ❤from Canada 👍

70's and 80's schlock is the best.
That period was peak schlock .
