If there is one man I wish I could go back in time to learn aikido from it would be this man. There is something about him. A true, authentic Samurai spirit....maybe its more than that. I admire how direct he is. In the end, the directness, sincerity and authenticy displayed and taught by such a Sensei is all a student could ever ask for.
This is the genuine article .Real , tough Aikido not the flower arranging sometimes presented as Aikido which is bringing this awesome martial art into disrepute . I never saw him but he was a legend all over the world .
I received my shodan from Chiba Sensei way back in the day, there is no equal, looking at the older videos I am amazed we survived training with him it's like running into a steam train. Technique and taisabaki are awesome another level and the power he generates when you take ukemi has to be felt to be truly appreciated

Fantastic techniques !! BUT some of them Shihan Chiba has a bokto against the Boken !! ( a much heavier weapon ) and sometimes the bokto is upside down
