It's still better than wasting life, health and time looking for stupid government jobs. They are atleast doing something and earning money. At the end of the day, money and success is all what matters not degrees or your stupid motivation for an exam. Money matters, so get rich as Tate says. Ain't nobody gives a damn. This guy was a fool to not work even after getting a good job. He cracked SBI PO, but still chose to sit in a closed room and prepare for UPSC. He had the opportunities in life, but he didn't take anyone of them. Today, men are focusing on earning money, living a good life, drive fancy cars, a good physique and partner of their choice. I am not saying one shouldn't study, but your studies should enable you to acquire skills that ultimately prepares you for a job. At this age, this guy shouldn't have been dealing with depression to become financially stable in life, but would've been settled had he not missed the opportunities he once got. These types of exams just give you an excuse for not working after a particular age.

In around 2021 Maine UPSC ki preparation shuru ki thi at that point of time I was 21 years of age in corona.. and mostly first attempt maine diya tha in 2022 not well prepared so thought of giving another attempt in 2023.. 2023 mein sabko pata hai kya hua.. and then 2024 this year also given my UPSC attempt. But could not make it. Finally thought of having some financial stability first.. because right now my age is also 24 and being a girl I cannot afford to stay like this because u know marriage and all.. So finally now I am preparing of my own subject of masters. Learning so many new things every now and then. And believe me ab jab main un motivational videos and chijon ko dobara dekhti hun to itna relief feel hota hai.. ke thank God I am not pursuing it.. And moreover I entered in philosophy and ultimately understood the importance of life.. sochungi UPSC karne ka.. per Abhi to nahin.. and believe me ab muje meri jindagi bohot productive mehsoos hoti e.. because u atleast can see results when u try in another fields... Overall what I would like to say is first have financial stability, ho sakta hai aap UPSC karne se pahle hi apna passion find out kar lo, if you are still not happy then definitely go for it. And I assure you that you will have much peaceful mind.. Thats what life is about. "Happiness". Apne rishtedaro ki sunna chhor do.. Don't challenge your own worth again and again by giving the same exam.. if you think there is a hope then definitely go for it. But solely going on motivation that's not how it's gonna work dear.. aur ek bhi step mein bahar hone per u r back to zero😢😢

I wasted 4 yrs preparing for upsc after my B Tech. I cracked the prelims and mains + intvw. But could not make it. Luckily, I decided to take a bold decision ... NO more upsc... went abroad for a job and then started my own companies abroad. While studying for upsc, i did Msc Geography from Madras Univ (distance learning). Worked as trainer to earn some money. The biggest issue for me being from Kerala, was lack of study group. Keralites were not as motivated for upsc as you see guys in the North. Getting books / resources was a major challenge. Anyways, I would still recommend aspiring youth to give 1 attempt for upsc. Prepare very well. Give your best. But keep other options... in life, you should always be prepared to face challenges / disappointments.
You don't need to be a BTech/ MTech to crack UPSC It is better to do a simple BA and prepare for UPSC. IQ of a simple graduate is good enough for a Govt job, you don't need to be a nerd to become an IAS.

But the satisfaction you are showing that "jo ho raha h acha ho raha h life me vo experiences kaam me aa rahe hain" i agree but definately it is just a subconscious excuse no one is happy and that's the objective reality! UPSC is a game in which either you get 100 or 0 nothing in between! This we all must have to accept

Fact is whichever degree, job or designation you possess you would end up into a grave or a cremation ground because it doesn't matter you get, what matters is how you are. If you are sensitive towards life you would naturally respect struggles of Dhananjay sir. There is nothing in life to achieve. Just risk everything for freedom to know the true nature of yourself. If dhananjay sir would have gone after money there was a stronger possibility that he would have never asked real questions about life to himself. Because most people with money end up protecting and maintaining what they already have and death occurs.

I have observed that people who are more academically inclined do not think much about money.. Money is secondary for them. My ex was like that, he cleared ssc cgl, he also thought of preparing for Upsc after getting job but I didnt wanted him to prepare as deep down I felt upsc is very competitive I didnt wanted him to be in this tough cycle though I was accepting of he preparing of state level pcs exam in future but not UPSC. By observing other aspirants I can put most of you in this "curious to learn" category but yes there are many people of such kind who want to become a govt servant for just prestige. Kudos to you for being so transparent about your journey. Its really hard to share such incident
We are studying to earn money and make our two ends meet. I studied Civil Engineering from Tier-1 college but my parents were hellbent on doing a Govt job and I didn't go into the IT sector which was quite easy to get into. 8-10 LPA jobs were quite easy. High CGPA High Percentages are of no use if they cannot pay you enough. People waste their lives in Core engineering and Govt Jobs preparation. Finally, it is ego only. Suicidal tendencies are quite prevalent in today's youth because they are clueless. The majority of Jobs are in the IT, Medicine and Finance sectors. All other jobs are secondary. There is nothing called " Learning". Not more than 2 years should be invested or wasted and that too with a job, not without it. I have to beg from my family members for basic sustenance for 4 years due to this Civil Engineering. Finally got a job in a PSU.
Your words have made my day. I too prepared for Civil services for 2 years but couldn’t even clear the prelims. But I developed the habit of reading and have improved very much.
I am watching this on 31st December 2024, appeared for Prelims 2022 and 2023, left UPSC after that, but not satisfied with my current Job. Was confused whether to appear again or not, after watching this video have finally decided to say Goodbye to UPSC CSE and dream new dreams and achieve them. 2025 is set to be all about Learning. Thank you Dhananjay!!
I quit my job as a bank PO because I hated it once I had to conduct marketing-related duties like selling loans and insurance. Because I have seen that there is more respect, more public attention, and more authority in the civil services, I became drawn to it. I attempted the State PSC eight times; each time I passed the preliminary exam but failed the mains. In my most recent try, I somehow passed the mains but was not selected for the final list. In addition, I failed the BDO and Veterinary Officer final selections twice. However, I worked as an assistant for an autonomous organization the entire time and refrained from getting married since I believed it would interfere with my academic pursuits. I am currently a 38-year-old single clerk who is far behind my peers in both life and work. All I have left now is contemplation and regret. I sometimes feel that I should not have quit my position at the bank; at other times, I used to think I should not join the clerical job and solely engaged in preparation...hmmm.

Look man , I'm crying, I wish I could talk to you in person. I'm gold medalist in Organic Chemistry (2023) I attempted pcs in that year, gave my breath to it but couldn't make it. I'm going again this yr and either I'll make it or will let it go. Sometimes everything feels fine but sometimes I cry and do you know what's the funniest part, I have to avoid crying bcz it chokes my throat and I fall sick so can't even cry properly bcz of studies. Thankyou for talking about inner peace and happiness bcz that's what I really needed to hear. I prepare from home, my parents are very supportive but honestly I can't express the pressure to them bcz they have never given this exam and I lack vocabulary to explain that feeling in layman language.

HARD WORK doesn't pay off , RESULTS do but it sure helps to work hard , as you learn how to push yourself better(in any field) the more work you put in.

India’s gdp would be much better if Indian youth was less obsessed with government exams and upsc.
Govt Jobs amount to less than 2% of the entire country's work force. I don't see how that fixes Indian Economy in any way. Maybe more like if Indian's were more ethical and less morally corrupt.

They realise importance of money wen they r 30 and there friends r earning 3 lakh/month
