Please please please do a more in-depth comparison. I love the more cinematic look of the EVA-1. It's the closest to the Arri color science that you can get for 8k and under. The magentas are, as always, way too present in Sony color science. Giving it that "video camera" pinch in my frontal lobe. The only reason why i would switch to the FX6 is because i love their autofocus (when i simply have to use it) and the variable ND. Only in the FX9 does the magenta curse seem to be lifted from the sony color palate and no one looks like they just got off a run or now just on the other side of a rash.. Drives me nuts. Every singl EVA-1 user that i know is thinking about upgrading to this. Because before now, the only decent option was the FS5 which was made in magenta town on crapstreet.
I've just sold my EVA1 so won't be able to do a more in depth side by side unfortunately. But I might do a video talking about the differences between the cameras and my overall thoughts on the switch. Thanks for watching!
A tad too much Magenta on the Sony sensor... Highlight rolloff of EVA a tad smoother also. Both great. But prefer the Varicam look for sure. Looks a bit more "expensive"
Interesting. I am an FX9 and EVA1 owner. Both cameras are great. Besides grading to match in post, there are some applications where I'll need them to match on set. I wonder if there's a Scene-2 LUT that can be imported into the FX9 to get the colors to match the Panasonic.

Ultra interesting !! thanks a lot ! I considered buying the eva 1 too so the comparison was great... it would be so cool if you could further compare thos two cameras :)
I like the result of the EVA1. Looks more like a movie and the Sony seems slightly over saturated. While they both look good, I just like the EVA1 better. You could always saturate the Eva1 more.
Sony all the way here. Your skin looks more “human”. The Sony is also cleaner in the shadows. How are you liking your Sony? I’m loving mine. If you light correctly you can get a very serviceable look with S-Cinetone. FYI: I did a comparison to the Sony A7S III on my channel and plan to get out a comparison to the Canon C70... if I have time. Still waiting on my Red Komodo to arrive, but whenever it gets here, I’ll do another comparison video with it. Keep up the great work!
@@GurmeetSingh-fr8uo Yes I prefer FX6 over EVA1. It has an electronic VND, 4K 120fps and great autofocus. All great reasons for me to upgrade for my projects!
How can I match Panasonic AU-EVA1 to my B roll camera Sony A7S III. I do like S Cinetone on Sony and like Scene 2 on EVA1. What is the best method to make the cameras match up? Should I shoot in VLOG and SLOG3? I have no idea 😬
You could shoot log with both cameras and then use a plug-in called cinematch. That might get you most of the way there. Remember different lenses give different looks as well. So unless you’re using the same lens on both cameras the look might be slightly off.
Hey mate, great vids! I'm about to move from EVA to fx6, but I kinda want to keep my S1H as my B cam for multicam stuff, do you think they're compatible/match able in post? Or you think I'd also be better off swapping the S1H for like an fx3 also? I just love the S1H haha but I need the fx6 I think, the EVA isn't keeping up these days.. any thoughts would be much appreciated :)
I have the Sony FX6 and use the a7S3 as a b-cam. I also have a a7IV as a c-cam for three camera video podcasts. If you don’t mind spending a little more money I would suggest getting the FX3. It has a telly light, fan, but otherwise is essentially an a7S3. Having another camera that shoots slog3 and s-cinetone is better than having the s1h. I would strongly suggest having all Sony cameras and using native e-mount lenses. If you have the budget I would also recommend getting Sony GM lenses 👍
I use the tenba cinelux shoulder bag which fits my eva1 rigged up with monitor and lens. I'm using the same bag for the FX6 and it seems to fit the same with a monitor and lens on it.
Valerio, I was curious as to why the move to FX6, mostly because I have also wanted it - but recently I was offered an Eva 1 for almost half the price of and Fx6. And thinking to get a ninja V for Prores raw. Anyway, just curious, do you think it is that much difference between them? thanks! Thomas

Super Handy video comparison! Short and sweet. Thanks man! Also, loving the Cinetone colours!
Thanks for watching Jordan!
Thank you. I wonder how it would look like if you just quickly match the skin tones? Eva way too green on my monitor, sony too magenta.

Pretty sure the Canon C200 is the closest to the Alexa. Look up arri alexa vs c200 by armando
Which colour profile are you referring to when you mean arri colour science ?
Thanks I like the Panasonic scene 2 best. Less red tones.
The fx 6 looks definitely better 👍🏻😉
I do prefer the FX6 in S-cinetone after doing this test 👌

Great comparison! EVA1 skin tone is healthier. Subtle but better to my eye. Sony is a bit more magenta.

EVA1's ev-LOOK2 looks more pleasing on the skintone while S-Cinetone accentuates the redness on the face like a rosacea. It seems to be a Sony thing.
