In the past we had sent the kavery jet engine to Russia for high altitude test which failed. Why it took so many years for another test is perhaps due to lethargicity of the governments. It is wise not to send to any foreign country which is friendly or otherwise for any test. india sent a sattelite to America for launching from space shuttle. But it was damaged by a crane may be delberately or not. India did not raise a voice. Such things do happen that is why.

Kaveri has taken 40+ years & now it's under testing, even if it gets passed in the test it cannot be used for fighter jets yet as it cannot still produce enough trust... The result of testing the Kaveri engine will help India to go for a new variant of Kaveri engine & to make it reality it will easily take another 10 to 15 years by then this technology will become obsolete !!!
