Another trick to ride in control downwind in crazy over powered conditions: ride the opposite direction from your kite. For instance, keep the kite on the right, and ride your board to the left. You will be amazed how much control you have. Any speed you gain, subtracts apparent wind (power) from the kite. Best to come in before, but if you get stuck again, it is a good 'get home' technique.
The hail storm was probably your lowest risk, that huge cloud cover over you was probably a Cumulus Nimbus, they can bring thunderstorms and sudden shifts in wind speed and direction, along with the hail...these conditions should be avoided at all times for kitesurfing !
Hi😁 It happened inside the Falsterbo canal between the breakwaters goo.gl/maps/c2BRS5EJbmgn7gqc6 we were taken by the storm and where the slightest mistake could turn really bad😱We had no opportunity to use safety systems when needed due to the breakwaters and so on but all this is everyday life for you I guess🤙
@@alexswimmer8142 I didn´t mean to doubt u..But it seemed that u had the chance to get out the situation before it became worse...I´m a windsurfer..At least I have a board to trust.lol
@@nilsemmahendrickx-iskandar5350 for me you are wrong. I think you just never windsurfer seriousely. For me, a really overpowered situation is worst while windsurfing. When kiting, so much strategies to escape. Ride down wind, or juste super close to the wind, or juste let the kite drag you, or juste envoy and kick the biggest jump of your life ;). I t s impressive, but quite easy to manage. Windsurfing, when you can t water start any more, or juste can t sheet in at all your sail, it s way more difficult to go back to the shore, and more exhausting. I have in my mind a day i get caught under 40 knts with a 7.8m slalom sail on a bumpy spot...
hmm, don't see any kite horror, just looked like you were afraid to fly the kite when it come through strong.... Not even any waves man!! And 72 mph?? I doubt that.

It’s ptobably true, really weird and dangerous wind🤙
32 м.с.это очень оптимистично на мой взгляд 16-20м.с.
You are pulling in the bar too much! Let it out more!
absolutely fake... he managed pretty well, sinking the board and dopping the wing in the water
Apparently not your first time, since you sank your board to create drag :)
You are never really prepared for such weather changes but you you allways trying to do the best🤙
And yes, it was not my first time, otherwise
Nobody could see this video😅
@@alexswimmer8142 It looks dangerous to sank the board no ? You definitly need to keep the nose up to don't get yourself under the water (?!)
Кайт 1 квадратный метр? На носовом платочке можно кататься 😂

@paulo, windsurfing not gives so much adrenaline in those moments, once u've been attached to an overpowered kite, you will understand 🤙😃

Why did the kite drop at 3:40? Its always interesting to see these tough scenarios before you find yourself in one.
I would say depower line was trimed too much. Correct me if I’m wrong
