guess at the end of the day its all about technique, even when recovering from a bad leave when the "snooker brain" may not have been fully switched on. currently working on cueing action, my draw shots go nowhere atm
@@Logicsupersedes basically its all well and good keeping your eye on the spot where to pot but its pointless if you cant cue straight to get the white there
absolutely. i’ve recently started focusing on developing my pre shot routine and basically have been doing exactly this. even if you can already see the angles naturally, this helps so much with shooting every shot with consistency and confidence
@@Breakfromlifelots of players say they look at the object ball rather than the cue ball. How do you change from having always looked at the cue ball? @@garethmills4383 you’ve got to do whatever is comfortable really but I look at the object ball. Although you are right it’s a mix between different players as quite a few look at the cue ball
It’s not a visualisation Jedi mind trick, just the most consistent method to pot any ball. Then eventually it becomes more natural when you learn the angles
yeah when you get down on the shot you eye up the object ball cause this tell you how you should position yourself. the cue ball doesnt give that information.
but once you see the point of the ball to hit, when you take the shot, which ball do you look at?? the white ball or the colored ball?? What does Ronnie look at??
Pool, 8 ball and 9 ball yes...if he was best at snooker he'd be where Ronnie is. SNOOKER completely different game to pool . Size of pockets and balls vastly different, and a snooker table is much bigger than a pool table. Trust me. I've played both, and snooker is a different skill set altogether.
Put it this way … I’ve never played golf in my life, but I could walk into my local club, tee up, and maybe hit a hole-in-one. Meanwhile, no one could walk into a snooker club without ever playing and pull off a 147 break. Snooker actually requires precision-not just wandering around in the grass chasing a ball.
1. The cueing MUST be 100% straight. Take the white and make a shot towards the opposite cushion. If it comes back to the cue tip, then you have a straight cueing. Increase power of the shot. Does the white still come back to the tip? Then you are a master. 2. Memorizing the right spot on the ball is impossible as soon as you go back to make the shot. You lose that spot anyway in your eyes. Only the inner feeling that you develop through the years tells you where to hit (if you have straight cueing, see 1).
its actually not really needed.. you can look at the objectball and seethe point where it lines up with the pocket.... its kinda like, imagine a cube on the table, you can easily see if its outer edges lines up with the pocket right... a ball has outer edges too, if you move around the ball you can use the outer edges to see where the ball goes from that particular viewpoint.. its very natural and instant..
this is why Ronnie can't coach. He picks a point on the white, which doesn't change with the angle of the pot, the spot always stays the same, yet where the white needs to hit the pink does change based on the angle of the pot, so Ronnie has not given anyone any idea of what to aim the white at. Ronnie essentially said, "hit it at the correct angle and it goes in". So not very useful.
So you are saying the worlds greatest ever to date snooker player can't help you play better? That's your loss or inability to listen or learn. He's giving his method how he plays, and some might say, it's been pretty good so far. Quite piss poor statement to make really.
there is no difference in contact point from any potting angle though. its all the same otherwise the game would be unplayable. in other words if we freeze frame the moment object and cue ball (to pot the ball) make contact its the same contact from whatever angle the cue ball came from.
Best tip is to firstly make sure youre cueing straight.

Thanks Wayne. I heard what Ronnie o sullivan said, and thought to myself, that's great, but what does that lad Wayne think.

watching Ronnie talk about his cueing, I realise how much I have subconsciously learned from him in terms of the pre shot routine. What a top guy.

This is the first time I hear Ronnie's voice and I've been following snooker for almost 25 years. lol
I hope you don’t regret it
So you have not watched the end of a single major final he played in? Or a single after match interview? In 25 years of following snooker.

This tip is very good , you know!
Awesome tips
So much enjoyment over the years . Ronnie thank you

Legend has it... He's still staring
Bahut khoob ❤❤❤
It is hard not taking your eyes off that spot. Once you get it it changes the game for you.
Great video. So ronnie doesnt use the ghost ball method like davis? How about a thin shot?
Nice
Awesome

It works
what about cut induced throw?
Is cut induced throw not a thing in snooker?
Thanks boss.
Angles McManus talking absolute bubbles
Visualization? Nah it's just aiming. Will it in the pocket? No, just going to use the cue and cue ball and hit it in.
Iv had a good try to day 🤘
Use the light reflection on the pink ball keep your eyes on the spot and move towards the white
GOAT!
Cool..
I used to do this, then i stopped doing it. Now I'll start doing it again
Hes a very precise visionary and his hand eye coordination is like the 6th dimension 😂
His potting is otherworldly. The way he nonchalantly gets down mid conversation and drills the pink is ridiculous.

I look at the white as i hit it
Hardest game going honestly
Not golf?

The problem is that I find it harder to pot straight shots😂
Watch the ball in any sport with a ball
Q straight learn to sight learn your 30 and 45 sighting on target ball master these first before q ball control
Nah this is huge, once you got your cueing straight and the follow through is second nature
The captions are a bit distracting maybe try some other editing method
God it’s sounds so simple when you’re so talented. But try as I might I may get lucky but 95% of the time I play with no skill or consistency.

It's even more crazy when u learn he is using side in almost every shot just because he never got used to hit center white
He's not picking a point on the white.. he's picking a point on the object ball. It's called the 'ghost ball method'
