Glad I found this! Preparing for a gig and it opens with a Celtic-style fiddle solo 😳 that has this turn/ornament written as a triplet, and despite listening, I'm still not quite getting it to sound exactly the way it does in the recording. This video is a start in finding the answer I need... any other videos on Celtic ornaments?
Great Vid.... I am not certain when to use the individual bowed triplet, aka the cut as you've shown vs. other ornamentation that produces a similar sound? For example; in the "B" part of Cooley's Reel, from the open E down to the B (on the A string) ~ it feels like there's a triplet E B BBB(3), but I can also play this with like an aggressive BDB grace note... Thanks again for helping us learn Irish style fiddling.
Brilliant
Just discovered your channel! Been trying to fiddle for a couple of years but with limited results. I look forward to learning from you.

Triplet isnt a cut they are completely different
That's a bowed triplet, or treble. A cut involves a grace note.
Great lesson ! Thanks
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome job!!! You have a new subscriber!!
Fabulous
Super!
Is the bow down up down or down down down?
How is a cut written on the sheet music?
That scratch with the bow like nails on a chalk board to me. So unsettling but I will try to learn the cut
😄😄😄👏👏👏👏
I thought a cut was a single very quick grace note, or sometimes a double, and I thought what you are showing is a triplet.
Wow, are you gorgeous and talented!
