  • One of the long term goals of this project is to grow a dense food forest, helping feed wildlife, livestock, and people. The challenge is how to do this while pasturing goats that would eat the trees if they were given the chance. This video illustrates my first attempt at implementing a system.

I've heard that what covers the hills in California is NOT our native grasses. Our native grasses, which would have stayed green throughout most of the year, were out-competed by grasses that came from Europe. Imagine how beautiful California would be all year round if we could reintroduce the original species.

      Hi there, yes, and no.
The electric was enough of a deterrent to slow the goats down, although they eventually started to ignore the shocks.
The issue, though, is that the charger was way too weak (less than a joule).
Once I invest in a larger charger (I'm looking at 10+ joules), I know it will work just fine.
