I have a question, if there are sun and mercury within one degree in the second house from an upapada, is this inauspicious for the longevity of that upapada? I heard Surya can only be in conjunction with budha and a war isn't possible, could you please enlighten me on this?

If we consider rashi aspects then the 8th lord is aspecting 7th lord which is in ascendant; with its second aspect as well..
Atma karaka is all about karma. No matter where its placed. If connect to 8th house it will show karma associated with 8th house
8th lord in lagna is not a issue for marriage but lagna.

While selecting deity for venus will graha dristi will also change the deity form or planet conjunct with venus will show the form ?
Every association will change. But is not possible for common people to check all this. This a work of seasoned astrologer. For general uses we will use simple devata schemes.
If there are 1 benefic and 1 malefic planet conjunct with Venus in a house , if we choose the deity related to the yoga of those benefic planet then worshipping it will remedy that malefic planet too ?
Then venus plus benefic will over the malefic planet right. Venus is also benefic dont forget
If so, then which Graha shows Chandi Vs Chamunda Vs Durga ? Isn't It indicated by same Graha - Venus ?
