    When she says “I’d like to go out to the garden if that’s okay,” and Jax shows just a glimmer of sweetness by nodding his head gives me chills. They both know what has to be done without explicitly saying it, and Gemma accepts her fate. She wanted to choose where she could be put down, and Jax shows his last kind gesture to his mom by fulfilling that wish.

      Pretty sure she knew that killing Tara would send Jax after her, even before it happened. She knew how deeply Jax loved Tara and what he was capable of. That's prob why they had her drunk & high, after an argument with Neero, when it happened... because in her norm state she might've thought better, even though she thought she was doing it for the club

      @@anthonycampos8057 I disagree. She knew Jax was a madman when angry, and she knew losing Tara could send him over the edge. She saw Tara as a threat right from s1 because she knew how much Jax loved her. However like I said, Gemma thought she was protecting the club. The moment she realised Tara wasn't going to testify, she knew Jax would kill her if he found out... which is why she tried so hard to cover it up

    Katey Sagal’s finest moment in this show- and that’s saying something. Gemma finally pays for all the bad she’s done, from JT to Tara, and it comes at the hands of the son she loved. To her credit, she doesn’t try to beg or bargain her way out-doesn’t play the mother card or any card. She knows what she’s done and she knows that it can’t be made right any other way than this. As she looks around that house, looks around that garden, you can see she’s thinking of all the decisions she could have made, the woman she could have been- and she sees through the eyes of the girl she once was, looking at the flowers and remembering how much she loved them in a time when she didn’t have blood on her hands.
    Give Gemma this- she didn’t go out a coward.
    Outstanding performance here by Sagal. She makes you FEEL it all, and you do. You do.

      @@coxish1765 If she was ever "ready to snitch", she sure made it hard for the DA to make that possible in her final two episodes. Tara loved Jax unconditionally, but she hated the things he did, and also hated what they did to him (perhaps more than anything). She upended her whole career on behalf of Jax, and lost almost everything, until she did finally lose everything (her life).
      All she wanted was to be safe, and for her boys to never grow up to be Jax. Jax also wanted the same exact thing ... Gemma's selfish, brutally narcissistic character couldn't let that go, and murdered her in cold blood. There's no justice there, no "right". Jax and Tara figured it out, and Gemma ignorantly made new plans, because even had she known what the plan was, she doubtfully would've let that go.

    I love the symbolism of her dying in the garden - this is the garden she loved as a child, but lost when she became separated from her parents and went into the world (so she was effectively cast from the garden) and then in the end, within the club, she was the snake in the garden, her lies (as well as Clay's lies) resulting in so much death and destruction within club that again, what she loved was lost to her only for her to come full circle and return to the garden she had loved as a child, to die alone at the hands of her son.

    She created this dark side of Jax through her manipulation tactics. This is the worst part. And in the end, it is better, safer, maybe also "sweeter" to die from the hands of your own blood. It is more fair, than to die from a villain or a stranger. It all comes back to you, isn't it Gemma? Put a little calling up to your son's sentimentality, and you may also escape the whole mess. May. But you didn't. Because in the end you created a monster larger than you. You created wounds that were fatal. I don't excuse Jax's action. It is too overwhelming for me, too messed up.

    We all know the actions of SAMCRO should neither be admired or championed but...we have grown to love, the fundamental goodness within. So, NO MATTER what, Jax is my hero. He TRIED & isn't that what we all dream to do? The love he shared with Tara & his boys,was the best part of him & made him a better man. Many have speculated on the symbolic nature of how his journey ended. The homeless woman, the blood & bread & wine....I will leave it to you to decide what it meant to you.
    I know what my heart tells me to understand. RIP Jax RIP with your beloved Tara. I have NO DOUBT you are together in whatever heaven you believed in🕊🙏🕊

    Notice how Gemma didnt even cry at the end before she got shot. She was still trying to make Jax feel sorry for her. She never showed any remorse. Thats why she lied about Taras death and went on with the lie. Pure evil till the end.

    If you think about it, Gemma had her doubts about Tara right from the beginning. She done everything she could to kick Tara away from Jax, Jax tried to do the same in S3, he was so blindly in love with Tara that he thought he could prevent the worst things from happening to her. Gemma gave her a chance, they should have forced her to go back to Chicago. Tara’s death was the trigger for Jax becoming the Reaper and finally understanding everything about his father JT. Gemma had to go but it’s very f’ed up that it had to be her own son who was so broken, conflicted and devastated.

    • @AriesMars203
      @AriesMars203 Год назад +4

      Gemma had her doubts but part of the problem is she kept trying to control the situation between Tara an Jax, like he wasn't a grown man. Tara was her own worse enemy, better strategy was pull Tara close and prepare her for the life.

      Didn’t she already try that? I think it was the 5th season of Tara being arrested and we could see that was when she cracked. But before that in S4 she was attacked and she lost her hand ability to operate. But yeah you’re right, Gemma did not know when to stop.
