I am too much of a cold hearted bastard to ever take that woman back. Once an ex, stays an ex. Maybe not as strangers but forever and ex. Moving on is the best revenge and yes, I am that bloody petty!

A classic example of why sharing personal information with work colleagues is not only stupid but can also be dangerous. The comment the daughter made about Tony not being married to her mother but still sleeping in the master bedroom was the perfect bombshell. As for the counselling, the wife really needs to take fare more accountability for the atrocious way she treated her husband.

1 Ok so after finding photos she didn't talked to him even once before filing for divorce
2 She used her children against Richard during divorce
3 she asked Vicki and rob to kick him out(still trying to manipulate and not being direct)
4 she should've showed her repentance by her actions ( like give custody , money , house (she could at least offer to move out at least for some time(she did not even gave him the room she could've shifted with her daughter) but no she is manipulating him and others(Vicki, rob, her own son ( by making them share room)
    Actions speak louder than words

Maybe. But it is very attractive to some men to have a woman who is trying so hard, plagued by guilt, constantly trying to make up for things.
Now if she’s acting like she didn’t do anything wrong, if she doesn’t feel guilty, or if she feels that he needs to understand why she did what she did, that’s a different story.

The shift in the wife's compass was so subtle while she unconsciously acted towards destruction of her marriage well before the "misunderstanding of infidelity" by being not more circumspect about choosing such a friend with ulterior motives and her being so stupidly insecure to share confidences while taking her husband for granted...giving a conniving cowardly predator every opportunity to destroy her family...

This was a good story. Going back to the house as long as the wife was treating him well, I can understand, because it means more time with the kids. Getting back together with the wife would be very dependent. She would have to answer some questions about why she jumped into bed with the other dude, moved him into the house immediately, the relationship with AP before the “drunken infidelity”, why she destroyed him in the divorce, etc. she signed off on every vicious thing and threatened to never let him have access to the kids.

I know this is fake, but it is so stupid! how can this guy be this trusting? he was called by his ex-wife (who he believes screwed him over) and agrees to come over after she tells him to "bring his shotgun" and that she'd lowered the restraining order?
anyone would see that as a trap and would think she was trying to get him arrested.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I agree with the author. The only bad guy here was Tony, and not Cathy. Even Richard believed Tony's lies, about himself! Tony orchestrated everything, and all of Cathy's responses were according to Tony's playbook, motivated by the frame job he'd put on Richard.
Cathy sees photos, sees Richard as the cheater, divorces him as promptly as he would divorce her if it was her in the photos, and does not deny him access to the children but thinks Richard unaccountably stopped coming around, until she finds out Tony's falsified restraining order was the reason, then sets everything right as much as she can.
Sure she ended up in 'the supportive friend' Tony's bed, because at that point she was divorced from Richard after Tony framed him, and everyone including Richard believed his infidelity, but it was all Tony's invention.
Cathy was no more a cheater because she ended up with Tony for a while, than Richard was by ending up with the escort for a while. All the bad actions, including Cathy ending up in his bed, was entirely on Tony. Cathy was duped into that bed by Tony.
When a con man sells you his lie, it's not your fault for 'letting' him rip you off, for believing -- it's his fault for deceiving.

Idk getting with someone you know, shortly after breaking up/divorcing is almost always in bad faith. Having them stay over to the point your children realize he’s sleeping in your bed, is even worse.
