As a craft soap maker I find this so interesting. From picking and crushing the olives, to making a hot process soap. I would love to be able to visit your country and your factory, unfortunately my country warns us not to go there. Refugees that I have met would love to go back but it is not safe to. Your country is in my thoughts, may you have peace.
I am speechless. I see the amount of work that goes into making this soap and it just blows me away. I make soap too but on an extremely small scale. I love the big giant forms you use and the method you use to cut and stamp to brand your soap. Wow! Thank you for your video and I really appreciate your craft.
Olá @Stefanie, estou em um curso de saboaria natural. Gostaria de poder ver sua linha de produção para poder conhecer mais deste ramo. / Hello @Stefanie, I'm on a natural soap course. I would like to be able to see your production line to be able to know more about this branch.
I wish people could see videos like this more often. Not because they give a shit about soap but to really see that people in Syria aren't that different from people anywhere else.
Before the war the only thing l knew about Syria was their famous Aleppo soap that's been in production for hundreds of years just as Marseilles soap is from France. I finally got my hands on a bar produced in France. Syrians who fled to Europe make it there now.
Yes you are correct. In every country there are traditional natural soap making small factories but these MNCs have destroyed them by bringing chemical soaps which are harming human bodies as well as our environment. Also the automatic machines are making people jobless.
Honestly, the smell is not too good, but right after the first time i used it, i felt it was so good for my skin. This is why i love the smell now, but objectively, it‘s not good.
Very interesting to watch than you. May i also add my best wishes to you and your fellow countrymen and women. We do not hear to much these days what is going on in Syria.
Where can we buy this in the USA? I've heard great things! On Amazon, the ones that show up arent the same one or legitimately from your Pearl Soap company? Can you start selling on your website and shipping worldwide pls?
To the people who said about child labour,it's very sad but they have to understand that in the eastern countries they don't have the facilities to get food/clothes if is not through work.In my country people in need can go to the food bank or get vouchers or benefits as a help. There is nothing in Syria and other countries. The children we see there might be the older sibling with a parent disable, ill or even dead. His work there will feed him and the younger siblings or they contribute to a poor household. It's a cicle of poverty. No work=no basic needs.
I bought this soap from Talal Anis in German organic supermarket for 6 euros a piece, never heard of Aleppo soap before, but it is really good product, people even use it to wash the hair. Apparently there is a hair soap with rosmarine available from the same brand Filigrana under which they sell it in Germany. Do you still produce in Aleppo or moved to Gaziantep as was mentioned in one of the articles? Good luck though.
@Joe Al how does it not stick? I was thinking something like wax paper but you dont see them pulling the paper off the soap after cutting. It would seem the paper would be cut and attached to all the bars if thats what they used.
Muito bacana o video, pena que esta sem som. Indicaçao do saboneteando. O que reparei é que eleas usam pouco ou quase nada epi. Uma pena aleppo estar em estado critico, quanta historia se perdendo.
Such an interesting process, but I wonder why they have an automated machine and the guys hand-making the soap at the same time? Hey double the production, right? Pity the audio was removed, shame complaints of people who will probably never watch it again caused that.
wich kind of Olive Oil is used for Aleppo Soap. I try it with extra Virgin Olive Oil and my Soap becomes white. Is there a spezial Oil is used for the Soap for example Pomace Olive Oil ?
Great video! I hope Syria will become a peaceful and prosperous country as soon as possible :)

Arab soap or Aleppo soap is the best
It is free of chemicals and is very carefully made and is organic
My mom used to say the oldest soap is the best
and made by slave labor children
