therapy is not like that, you sit in a chair for starters, and you just have a conversation rant where you run out of time and you just rant some more the next time

deadlyNightshade789 I didn't want to see a councillor at first because I didn't want to get 'that far' in to my anxiety, but I had got 'that far' and was just denying it, I am a lot less ocd and anxious now (I'd like to think!) So good job for taking that step, I hope it helps a lot :)

as someone who is in therapy and is seriously struggling with mental health, seeing this vid HURTS!! we don't want to know their honest thoughts! sure, the vid might accurately represent what some therapists think about their clients, but how is that gonna make someone who's struggling with anxiety and depression feel when they're told that it's their fault when they're feeling these things? the truth is, it NEVER is the client's fault and a therapist should never think that! if a therapist thinks that, that's really just their opinion and they should never let their client know! seeing this vid makes me feel like my own therapist just slapped me in the face because that's what she might actually be thinking during our sessions! it's not something to joke about, Lilly.
The joke isn't that it's the client's fault they have problems and stuff, it's that the client in this skit doesn't actually have problems and is really selfish but too selfish to see that
Lol. Calm down. If you don’t want to know your therapist’s honest thoughts, why go to therapy at all? Believing nothing is ever your fault is not going to get you anywhere in life. A good therapist will be honest with you and if you sincerely want to change your life, you’ll learn to take some responsibility for it. Grow up.

BeLike Ay go see one. Nothing about this or anything should discourage you from going to see a doctor when you need to. It would be like trying to set a broken bone alone without professional help. Lilly actually studied psychology. I'm sure this is just meant to be funny.

I usually really like your videos. However from someone who has needed to go for counseling multiple times, I think this video may have crossed the line a bit. I still really appreciate what you do and you are very talented but I think this wasn’t a good video idea. People have a lot of emotions attached to seeking help for their mental health and this seemed to show a lack of awareness of that. Still love ya though!

Every now and again, I go on a marathon of Lilly's old videos, and they are still pretty funny but afterwards when I watch a newer one I'm just so truly impressed by how much she's grown, in her acting, and writing skills, and just how much she has progressed over the years, this is why Lilly is my favourite RUclipsr (and one of my favourite people), because she doesn't just say she believes in all these things and she thinks this and that, but she actually shows an example of all these things and frankly, just how to be a good human.

you can go to the doctor to find out if you need therapy as well! you don't need to be the one to know that, there's professionals for it for a reason. you will be asked a lot of questions and if they figure that it's not a mental illness that needs psychotherapy, you will probably be referred to other ways of help. I would definitely give it a go if I were you!

I really want to like this video, but I can't help but think that this will push people away from going to therapy when they tried very hard to get themselves there in the first place. As a counselor, our job is to respect every client's opinions and thoughts and feelings regarding their lives. Personal opinion does not even cross my mind. When I am in a session, it's empathy, understanding, accepting, and guiding. People don't just go to therapy if something is wrong with them. Plenty of perfectly happy people go to therapy because it's just a great thing to do for mental health.
I'm a little disappointed in the way the therapist is portrayed here.
Of course, as always, this was a well made video, I just think it was a little insensitive.
It's pretty obvious this video is a joke.
The video is a parody, not to be taken seriously.
All of Lilly's videos mock aspects of our lives to make it funny, not to be sensitive or accurate.

For a lot of people with mental illness, therapy is serious and can help them overcome their issues, it’s definitely not this. This could give people a bad understanding of what a therapist does. I don’t agree with the idea of this video at all.
