Earlier this year, Josh Scott, founder of JHS Pedals, released a video on his RUclips Channel making a comparison of the Bad Monkey Overdrive to a whole host of sought-after overdrive pedals-including the much-revered and highly-priced KLON overdrive. The result revealed Digitech's 2004 budget overdrive pedal to sound exactly like a full-fat, original KLON. With rumblings of a reissue in the works from the good people at Digitech, Nick Jennison takes a closer look at the original Bad Monkey Overdrive to find out just how good this pedal truly is.

Have one of these modded for the bass guitar. It's my go-to for songs like "Getting Away With Murder" or "Sabotage" etc.
The TS808 and TS9 just sounds better to me on guitar. Bad Monkey is (or was) a great cheap OD clone. If you have only this pedal on your board for the OD you can absolutely do worse. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for one of these (unmodded). It's just hilarious how one video can cause so much uproar.
