Very proud of that young man for his involvement in the history of the area! Seems like alot of our younger folks aren't as interested in our appalachian history as they could be. We have such an amazing area with incredible heritage! Thanks for what you guys do
It is great to see a young man who is so enthusiastic about history. Love the idea of the digital library. This is very exciting Leo as I, too love history especially that of WV. Thank you.
Thank you for the education Leo and Thomas! It’s so interesting and important to spread the word on these tragic events, that ultimately shaped who we are, even today. We tried to visit the museum last visit, but it was closed. It’s at the top of our bucket list for next trip down. Matewan is such a beautiful little town, packed with history
Such a nice museum with a very knowledgeable manager! I hope they are successful in finding all sorts of new information to add to their wonderful collection! I need to read up and learn more about this massacre because I didn’t know anything about it. Granted, we’re not from the area, but I agree that it should be taught in every school because it was obviously a pivotal point in our history! Thanks again, Leo and God Bless🙏❤️
Wow, Leo, that was so very interesting. Thank you Leo & Tom for the history lesson. So much more history than one would think in the town of Matewan. Loved it ❤
Very informative video. Tom did a very fine job giving a tour of the museum. Sounds like they have some great activities planned for the future. Thank you very much Leo and Heather, for another great video. Have a great day. 😊
Hey Leo. ❤ the Mine Wars Museum! Good tour. One note: WV is still an "at will" employer state. Any of us can still be fired for the length of our whiskers (or lack thereof).
Resiliance is unique to "Mountain folks"❤ How they were trapped into poverty. The way they worked, lived and survived is commendable to their resiliance. All while keeping their pride❤ The mountain folks changed lives and the world with one shootout.❤😮
Thank you. This is so cool to learn about. Like you, I love the mine history and being from Logan originally, I'm related to a lot of the big names of politics and law. I think we went to whs together, just ahead of you.
Been over Blair Mountain many times in my young life. Daddy would drive us over it and we would go back down to Rum Creek toward Dehue, WV. One direction from the top of the mountain goes toward Logan and down the other side goes toward Madison, WV, if my memory serves me right. When I was about 20-21, the road to Logan was blocked completely from a mountain slide at the Cliffside Drive Inn. We had to go up Buffalo Creek and drive over Blair Mountain to get to Logan. It was horrible in winter months!!! 1978-79, I think.
Hi Leo and Heather..FYI it seems my Subscribed needs to be up dated each time I notice your New videos..I enjoy your videos just dont understand why I need to keep updating my membership...Thank you.D&C from northeast Pennsylvania..
