Ole Miss student here! Every week the team wears a different color uniform(navy blue, white, red, etc) and every year we wear powder blue for our biggest home game. Also, every week, the university tells the fans what color to wear. The colors are navy blue, red, powder blue, or white. The color that the fans wear typically doesn't match the color the team wears. This is also a huge rivalry game ,called the Magnolia Bowl. Lane Kiffin(Ole Miss HC) had been looking for a major victory for years as he's never won any real big games On top of all that, it was a top 20 matchup. When you put all that together, you can see why this game had a lot of emotion and importance running through it. By far the best game I have ever experience in person.

It came back into the football team in 2014 as a one-off to honor Chucky Mullins, a player that was paralyzed during a game 25 years earlier and later died from the injury. The "powder blue" jerseys actually came from our baseball team in 2016, who has since worn the color for Sunday games for years now, as a nod to that helmet as well as classic 1970s and 1980s MLB baseball where it was all the rage for years. It grew out to the other sports as a jersey color from there. Football added it in 2020 as an alternate.
As an LSU fan it is so disheartening to have a terrific offense and no defense when we have historically been one of the best defenses in the SEC for years. Crazy to score 49 points and lose!
When you come to Atlanta, try to go to the College Football Hall Of Fame. You will enjoy it, and can look up some of your favorite NFL players college highlights. You guys also seem to like kickers. They have a replica football field, where you can kick field goals, pass etc

All the Ole Miss fans that I know want them to officially switch back to the powder blues full time for all sports for years now. The past couple of seasons they have slowly worn the powder blues more often; ballparking it, I'd say they wore some element of powder blue instead of navy over half the time last season for football. If I were a betting man, I'd say that the school is easing their way back into switching to the back to the powder blue and red full time and ditching the navy color. I think that because that's very similar to what the University of Pittsburgh did. Pitt wore blue and yellow as their colors forever up until the mid-to-late 90's. They switched to navy and gold and wore that up until about 2017-ish. Even though he’s not officially the mascot, traditions die hard - especially in Mississippi, and you see his image everywhere on game day, along with the sea of red. Its stadium seats only 64,038, which is small for a school with a prominent team and in a football loving state. Mississippi is known for beautiful girls. Its contestants used to frequently win national beauty pageants until the pageants went woke.

In recent years the athletics dept has made an effort to get fans in sync by wearing certain colors for certain games. These colors can be found on any Ole Miss football schedule. I believe the color for this game was red. The color for the Arkansas game the following weekend was a stripe out game where each stadium section alternated red or powder blue. And while the stadium capacity is 64,038, the attendance for this game was a school record 66,703. This was also reportedly the largest crowd for any sporting event in the state. Not surprising since it is the largest sports venue in the state.
I know when you are looking for a game to attend you’ll look for a big matchup. You can’t go wrong with a ranked matchup or a rivalry game but I also think the best atmosphere is going to be a prime time game in the evening. To me, it’s just more electric than any early game. Evening games at LSU, Bama, or Georgia will be hard to beat. I’d stay away from end of the year bowl games too. They’re neutral site and just not the same. Just my opinion but SEC, ranked, rivalry, night game is the way to go.
Ole Miss only scored 10 points the week before against Bama. Bama fired their defensive coordinator last year, and now he works for Ole Miss. Good riddance.
I guess ask that talk about SEC playing tough defense is nonsense. Only two teams in conference play defense and that Georgia and Alabama. Rest of conference is mediocre at best
