    This is easily the best version of this song I have found. The vocals are so good. I'll definitely be using this one in my DnD campaign for an ancient ruin my players will be investigating :D

    Did Nobuo Uematsu ever state that he took the melody here from Greensleeves? Or is that kind of thing just obvious and fine since it's origin is uncertain, or it's labeled as folk music?

      Hmm, somewhere after ff vi Uematsu started reusing lots of his previous work. Could be just a coincidence thath this one got so close cause FF8 - don't be afraid and FF9 - battle 1 share similar motif, yet definitely have no resemblance of Greensleeves.

      Wow, I never connected this melody to Greensleeves, but now that you mention it, I can kinda hear it! Interesting!

      @@1FFForever1you are right on with those comparisons, also there is a bit of ff4 overworld theme in the melody as well.
