Its not clear to me why the elastic balloon would rupture when being compressed. "No elastic on Earth can withstand such extreme pressure differences." ok - except that the hydrogen inside is freely permitted to compress to maintain it at a pressure equal to the outside. I don't see why it breaks under compression.
