This young man is only 19 years old, and dare I say, I feel like we are watching a legend in the making. The charisma and power of a young Baryshnikov perhaps. I watch this a couple of times for the stunning ballet sequence before even noticing the brilliant smile and obvious joy in dancing. I spent six years teaching English in Japan, and it was my experience that most Japanese young men were quite serious and so shy, I hardly ever saw smiles and sheer Joie de vivre like we do on Takumi-kun. I wish him a brilliant future.
A wonderful young dancer with generous lines, baffling leaps, a warm stage personality and flare! His port de bras (how he carries and changes his arm positions) is exceptional in that it is expansive, expressive and musical. Thank you for this video and for introducing this dancer to me. I can watch it over and over again.
Brilliant performance. I love this variation. I've seen this variation and many others just yesterday live in summer open air performance (National theatre Astana - ballet gala) in my home town Ljubljana. We have many brilliant performamces in the summer. I visit as many as possible.
