In my opinion Via Ferrata is more dangerous than ''standard'' rock climbing with belay most because for rock climbing you need to be phisically prepare for via ferrata you don't have to. If you choose a hard rout you can easli loose you strenge in some point and fell. If you lose your grip no one will secure your fell. You will stop where the mount point of the cable will be. So you can have 2-3m or more of free fall before via ferrata set will deploy. For hard sections without steel steps or with overhang it is good solution to use Ferrata.Block or like in my case I use set for resting. First I clip with resting set, than I can without loosing my strenge reclip via ferrata set :) Thank you for testing EDELRID VIA FERRATA BELAY KIT II. I bought it and I I will take it with me on via ferratas with my kids this summer holidays ;)

Thank you Patryk. To clarify for everyone, what you are saying is that when you get close to the anchor where you have to make the transition, when on a vertical, you first clip the resting system and only after that you do the transition. What does this mean? That if you lose control, you no longer fall (the resting will statically catch you) and also that in case of a fall, the Via Ferrata Set will not be stressed (because it has elastic lanyards if you clip the Via Ferrata Set and then fall, there will be some dynamic slide because of the elasticated lanyards. This can actually lead to a short deployment of the Via Ferrata Set shock absorber.
The point you touch is valid. Anyone can get on a Via Ferrata (literally). Buying the safety equipment is way cheaper and you don't need a belayer. You can end up on top of a crazy mountain in no time. Low barrier to entry. But this, makes Via Ferrata hard. I by now have enough experience, I climb once or twice a year Schlossberg Via Ferrata and it still. Is hard. On the wall, while rock climbing it gets easier and easier and if I repeat a route and learn how to solve the exercises it gets easy and remains easy. Schlossberg? Still not there yet. Should I remind that a Via Ferrata can go on and on for hours?

Wooow that looked really hard...the via ferrara block was really helpful and you can see that you also have to have a lot of arm strength on various sections...good job😊👍

For short overhanging sections I prefer to use speed and technique to overcome my limitations in finger and arm strength, in which case the block would just slow me down

Agreed. Many times less is better and quicker is safer. Some Via Ferrata you better climb fast. The more you procrastinate the faster you get pumped and tired.

Do you have any experience with doing a Via Ferrata at night? Could you make a video about it? Thanks!

I have footage with a Via Ferrata at night. I will make time to record a video about it. Maybe I will also record a night climb.

Gone are the times when I could just buy the latest without thinking 😂
Unfortunately my situation changed recently (for the worst) and I cannot buy the gear I would like so that I can improve how I record the climbs.
Yes, last night I was looking at it. 429 euro. I will have to give up on the idea. I did the same with ace pro or x4. For now will use what I have.
It has an improved wide angle. And 4k plus some ai inside (software). It definitely is the best version so far. The fear? At 4k to overhead fast. Hence I cannot just buy it without considering my budget constraints. I sold all dji action 3 and GoPro and some other stuff to be able to get the action 4 and GoPro with max lens mod 2.0 - let's see if this helps. X3 is full of dents but still going
I bought more lens guards (30 euro a pair makes them expensive).
Go 3s is a nice piece of hard are. For POV is perfect. For how small it is can be clipped everywhere and this gives it versatility. You can change angles super fast. Please if you can come with some impressions and maybe a video?
