@@ipMalik th for responding, @ 1:14, the command prompt will not open, it just goes to another screen which says " choose an account to continue" & only the owner is there, when I click that it just wants a PW . I tried the other option to use an image to recover but it's the same thing, it keeps going back to a PW request screen no matter what I do. 😭

I tried as you suggested but was unable to locate my windows installation folder through registry editor so ended up using Windows repair from my bootable USB to enter command prompt and then located the drive where windows was installed and used a command prompt to disable safe mode from there! If you hold down the Shift key during a reboot, then before opening the command line, my system requires account authorization and your password. Which I forgot .. Or do you have a different path?
It is possible that in your version of Windows the Shift key may help, but in those versions that I watched, Shift does not help. Instead of a forced restart with the Reset button, there is another and more reliable and proven way to open the command line. @@ipMalik Yes I see now, older versions of the WIN10 OS could be overridden with admin password if you set that in the BIOS, but as far as I can see that doesn't work anymore, sorry! Your second answer, using the bootable media, does work, so unless there is no other option I would advise people to go with that. My Windows 10 got an update in November 2020, and the command prompt opens this way without problems.

I tried as you suggested but was unable to locate my windows installation folder through registry editor so ended up using Windows repair from my bootable USB to enter command prompt and then located the drive where windows was installed and used a command prompt to disable safe mode from there! Prevent unneccesary damage to your computer!! Just hold shift while clicking restart
If you hold down the Shift key during a reboot, then before opening the command line, my system requires account authorization and your password. Which I forgot .. Or do you have a different path?
It is possible that in your version of Windows the Shift key may help, but in those versions that I watched, Shift does not help. Instead of a forced restart with the Reset button, there is another and more reliable and proven way to open the command line. Your second answer, using the bootable media, does work, so unless there is no other option I would advise people to go with that. Especially windows machines deal very poorly with sudden power loss, and this technique does still prompt me for a password at system recovery.

If you encounter a problem while entering your username, try the following:
most likely your name consists of several separate words, this is a problem.
Now try this:
Try typing your name between two hooks, like this:
"Username"
In this line write: net - space - user - space - "your account name" - space - put an asterisk
Try typing your name without a space in one word.

take a Windows 10 boot disk or a Windows 10 bootable USB flash drive, not necessarily from your system and any edition, Professional or Home. Insert into the computer and download the installation disc. When you see the Windows 10 Boot Menu, as in this screenshot

@@ipMalik I completed the regedit suggestions and restarted the machine but it went to "scanning and repairing drives" instead of loading command prompt. Is this normal?
@@ths109 this is not obscure ... are you sure you followed all regedit steps correctly?
I did every step right,but the user im tryna reset the password isnt showing and it has spaces.

When you open the command prompt, continue from the place in my video where you need to write "regedit". Timecode 1:12
