Umm. Charcoal doesnt work instantly right even if it is crushed to fine dust? That clearly wasn't proper drinking water. Could have killed him right. And boiling it doesnt mean you kill all bacteria. Some bacteria survives water boiling temperature is what i found out on google. I mean he drank something that went thru a fraction of what the government does to literally make sewage/raw/sea/ground water drinkable for human. Unless behind the scene he made diluted choco milk?
Water filters use a special type of charcoal known as 'activated charcoal' to purify water. Activated charcoal works through the process of adsorption. Note that adsorption is different to absorption. Adsorption binds impurities chemically on the surface of the charcoal filter rather than physically absorbing them.
I think you have to force the water through the charcoal to get that shock-and-awe clear water transformation. But we were impressed by your bravery, in drinking the whole glass!
I haven't watched any of your videos before but this was relevant to my job so I clicked through... You've got a talent for videography so keep it up! And I would love to see more crazy, off-the-wall practical Lego ideas like this. Hoping for more fun science-y content!
So basically the carbon in the coal bonds with the big nasty stuff so it kind of acts like a sanitizer but the water is fine since the molecules are smol
I am an Australian Scout. The best way to filter water is to put it through any sort of filter. Then boil it twice which will kill all germs and dirt and other junk
To do this properly you would need to cause some coagulation and and do some other filters for a long time. This was a brave attempt, but please do not gather random soil and try to filter it. It won't be clean and could give you some nasty diseases or worse.
Charcoal is made up of different elements including carbon and the more charcoal fine charcoal is the better it works and also same thing for carbon which is in charcoal that gives it it's filtering properties.
Thank you for the like my guy, jokes aside, keep up the work man, you have some really creative LEGO ideas that i never really see any other channel have. Thank a lot :D
Uhhhhhhh. dont do that..... it's really not safe... especially stagnant water. Be safe my dude. I love the videos. let's stay alive to keep making them :) thanks!
I filtered rainwater from the rof with a coffee filter and then I boiled it. because I did not get any water from the water pump, I did that for about a week before I found a gas station where you could get drinking water.
In order for the charcoal to work you have to crush it up as fine as you can get it. the finer the charcoal, the better it filters.
Lego grinder/crusher

No the charcoal can be ground finer than most sediment so nothing but water can get through the gaps, there is no chemical reactions that happen.
Hey this isn’t real science it’s Brick science eh
@@mktwotm3132 most bacteria die at 65 C so hes fine.

@Savanara Sum thx
"I don't wan't to drink ground water"
proceeds to get water from a ground pump
Lol that’s exactly what I was thinking
There are some things LEGO was not intended to do. This is one of them. I appreciate the ingenuity nonetheless.

So beautiful ❤
Him: Cuts the tube
Me: NOW THATS A LOT OF DAMAGE
Breaking a common piece is annoying and infuriating if there isn’t a spare, but breaking a UNIQUE piece is heartbreaking
Brick sience: cuts lego tubes with sizers

Nice grammar.
@@boooofer Bruh shut up
Yep. That's the moment my soul died. 💀👻
@@olibrix1288 dude i mean it. If he aint that old i’d say its good enough. I mean... you can still read and understand it.

Brother put a small piece of charcoal in the glass and keep it for sometime in the last step it will filter it.
Epic love the new sound effects and music and the dedication to science
Nerd: you Forgot to say "heavy metal"
Everyone Else:. ..
Man dude that’s good I’ve been watching you for about a week and bro am I impressed I’m glad to see a RUclipsr I can relate too
Thanks yo!!

him: i dont really know the science behind this
me: ur channel is literally called brick SCIENCE
I'm new your building is cooooooool
Dude that's incredible! this is supper innovative and creative. Great job. And keep on pushing the boundaries of legos
S u p p e r
You are a brave man Riley. I would NOT have drank that. Also "tube ASMR". 😂 Another great video!
Thanks Dave!!
This idea is completely bonkers and you need to crush the charcoal into a finer powder, putting it between sand layers.
Bonkers in a good way
Yes. Completely bonkers in the best way.
Ohhhhh maybe that’s why it still tasted like dirt...😂
@@Brick_Science Pretty much!
Random person. " what would you have to survive with?" Me "all the assincals." This guy "L E G O"
you do the best videos
Awesome job! Love your enthusiasm!!
This was juste the best intro 👌
The way you throw that poor lego piece 😂
Amazing! Another fantastic build.
And another funny background story. The dirt water really seemed... well.
Thanks!
Thanks for making this video it helped me with a science project in school
As me being 13 I love Legos still and you are a legend
The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities and some are considered to be unnatural......
you can also use gravel as a finer filter
intresting design i think that it is very good
honeslty, one of the best intros ive seen in a long time
Bro really said “yay…..”
i love this channel
you are the master of the lego
Great idea! It wasn’t a good idea to watch this as I ate lunch but it was enjoyable haha
Lol oof
Thanks!
@@Brick_Science roblox oof is gone
The charcoal actually has tiny little holes in its surface area and it adsorbs its not absorb, so the bacteria and bits go in the holes.
you have to crush the charcoal to a very fine powder
would work if u used coffie filters with the design
Wow you are very good with your Lego's maybe you could try again??
So basically the carbon in the coal bonds with the big nasty stuff so it kind of acts like a sanitizer but the water is fine since the molecules are smol

Today i drink water.. but this water coming from amazon forest........ amazing video man
Charcoal has holes, so it's pourus. Dirty stuff goes inro the holes to filter it.
So cool!😮
Don’t ever try this at home.
Don’t even try this anywhere!
Build a floating LEGO ship from only bricks...
I love this guy!
The final output looked like tea
1:09 this actually gave me tingles 😂😂
The most impressive thing is my man actually drank the water
🥲🙂
You are committed dude!! You just got a sub
At the start: safty goggles.
later in the video: *takes off*
Watching you cut pieces from the old Mars Mission sets was painful.

you should make a golf putting green!!
man i wish i was excellent as u ur great keep it up man!
It’s just like drinking choccy milk
Good luck with it
That's incredible so are you a lego designer cause you build amazing lego sets
i think 1 coffee filter would have done the trick
Charcoal actually has little charcoal monsters in it that really like eating bacteria, they think it's pizza
BRO HOW DID YOU STAY SO CALM AT THE SPIDER
His immune system is having a World War II right now
That was a grate idea!

You should build a lego blender for it to try and take out more
You should make a video where Minecraft youtubers control what you build
and also 0:32 fow do you be safe with goggles but you drink water? good video.

Don’t worry it was just chocolate milk 😰
