I am just loving ALL of your writing videos so much 💯💯 I can just feel your passion and love for it absolutely shining through the screen!!!!! Like I love that you are documenting the writing process of crafting your novel because we get to go on this journey with you too!!! 📓✏🙌💌

That is amazing!! Celebrate each and every word!! Some of us writers (like myself) are under-writers so our first drafts are minimal. I consider my first drafts the bones of the story and then the other drafts bring the flesh. Celebrate yourself!! This is a huge milestone!!

Thank you so much Heather! I'm glad to hear that you underwrite your first draft as well. I definitely have heard of people overwriting their first draft and I kept trying to do the same but then it just felt like I was writing nonsense just for the sake of word count.
I'm so so excited for "bringing the flesh" as you said ❤️❤️

You mentioned your usual writing partner being unavailable. If you would be interested in finding another writing partner, I love making author friends. I know the value of someone you can bounce ideas off of. I have a dear friend that I do this with, but it's always great to have more than 1.

Congrats on getting draft zero finished! Ive done a couple first drafts and they usually tend to be the shortest. There's always room to expand. The story is going to be however long it needs to be so i wouldnt worry about word count just yet. ❤

Thank you so much for saying this Jess! I now feel like in the reread process that I'm SO glad it wasn't longer lol

Congratulations!! I loved your analogy of trying to wring more water out of a towel. I think sometimes as writers we feel like we need to keep pushing and keep pushing but sometimes that might actually be worse for the story. You know your story best!!

About, did you study how to write or just started?

I just started but have been utilizing many resources! RUclips has so many wonderful writers telling their process and the books they read.
I'm kind of doing a mix of what they suggest and playing with my own process! It has been so fun
