Please be careful about making sweeping statements - "research has shown that children who have autism...are exceptionally gifted especially when it comes to Maths, or Physics or Chemistry, any science subject". I believe that their level of intellectual functioning will depend on where they are on the spectrum; and of course the level of support they receive with what they struggle with.

As a young South African democracy we used to believe we can look up to the likes of Nigeria and all those countries who gained independence 63 and above years.
As we get to live with them,read about them and have travelled to these countries.... Woooow,how sad the reality on the ground is.I don't blame continuous bad governance and high corruption by their leadership that they continue to vote in power.
The entitlement and ego they possess yet you realise they know nothing about social, political and economic developmental issues,all that drives them is money and instant riches.How does one advice a know it all attitude person yet master on none!!!!!!

This situation is similar to what I experienced with one of my client also a Nigerian. When I referred the child to the paediatric medical officer having assessed the boy and realised that he needed some intervention. The mother did not attend for appointments for two years. She told me that the boy is a prophet according to their church leader. At 4 yrs old when the school realised this boy's behavioural issues, the mother now demanded that I write an emergency referrsl letter for the boy. It took almost six months before he could be seen by the paediatric community medical doctor. Us Africans we need to learn to engage with the professionals and not be persuaded by some of these pastors. Use wisdom. Reg. Nurse, midwife, health visitor, Bsc.Hon. Psychology, now a Montessori Preschool Teacher in my retirement.

Why are pastors' views respected and trusted more than husbands' views in some settings ??
Because they are some people ' s spiritual fathers 👨 👩🍼
But they are not their biological father ....no one should be called in that instance except God. It seems like worshiping human being rather than God...

I hope more people from Nigeria watch your videos francis. It seems that some people are having trouble to the big adjustments in the UK.
As someone who is Welsh parent/ Carers whose whole family has autism, genetic link, I was a first very sympathetic to this family, as it can be hard even in a white British family to cope.
Not great advice from the pastor! Shame they didn't find your support earlier on. I've watched a few of your videos they are very good, common sense and compassionate.
I just say changed my mind about mum when you said she was training to be a Dr, shocking!
At the moment my son with autism ,who's 26 has been fighting chest infection for 3 weeks ,at risk of pneumonia every year. His behAviour is much better now he's older but certainly tough when younger.
I would not have wanted that mum treating me or my children.
I'm watching your channel, as my friend who is a parent/carer, has carers from Nigeria looking after her quite severely disabled son and there are issue with some, not all of the Nigerian workers.
The way they speak down to her, attitude, don't want to drive to visit her, because they are too tired it's too far! Dictating terms to their employers. One of them saying to another we need to stick together against the white people!
One went to pee in a bush when out, as couldn't be bother to walk to the toilet. On their phones all the time and quite arrogant 're the men.
One lady is also complaining she has had feet, and is quite a larger size lady and can't do the job, it's person care, he's a big young man in a motorised wheelchair.
I don't like blanket statements, some are lovely but few and far between it seems.
That's why say that they should watch your channel.

People assume that being a doctor, she is smart. Obviously not. She thought she knew more than the social worker, the husband, and the team involved in looking after her son.
She would rather listen to one uninformed pastor than any other reasonable person.
The damage these people cause in Nigeria homes and Nigeria society is being highlighted here.

My take on this story is caused by lack of mutual communication in most African families especially in those that have not been here in the UK far long enough to know the system of the do's and don'ts when it comes to parenting. What people fell to understand is that, where one fells to hold and follow a set of rules, there will always be trouble brewing in the background as others observe, and, therefore, such a person will be experiencing problems in their career and fell to work as part a team. In life, we are all governed by a set of rules one must always abide to and follow in order to achieve our daily objectives. A stubborn medical doctor with no basic knowledge of Autism is a career disaster awaiting to expose itself.

It’s very difficult and different to be English if your not especially for Nigerians. You really need to adopt a completely new way of life and education. You really need to learn proper English grammar and be educated enough to actually work your socks off and live in a relatively English area and not amongst the black areas because you won’t learn anything and you won’t integrate. As far as mental illness is concerned, it difficult for British Nationals to get help. We’re overrun and under a lot of pressure. No money and not enough staff. My English granddaughter has been on the waiting list for over two years and seemingly has another two years to go if she’s lucky.

Honestly i don't know what's wrong with most women including mine, they wont listen to their husbands they will rather listen to so called pastor than their own husband, i find this attitude very irritating.

Please don’t say they can live a normal life. Autism is a very broad spectrum. There are no two that are the same. I have worked with some of them. You need to educate yourself more on the matter.
I have worked with CAMHS so I have a level of authority on this subject . With the right support, people on the autistic spectrum can live a normal life , with the right support. I don't understand your point . Are you saying they can't live with support?

CAMHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services - as their name implies, they deal with all that pertains to mental health needs of children and adolescents up to 18 years. Diagnosis, support, placement etc.
