I'm a a Australian and I hear our kookaburras down the oval and out on our telegraph poles they will let us know when it's going to rain, we have the most amazing birds and wild life here in Australia we have been very lucky to have grown up in this wild country they are even more magnificent when you hear them live outside your door in a tree God bless all of our wild life in our world.
They have the greatest call. On old American cartoons you can sometimes hear that call in the background to simulate jungle in Africa. That makes me laugh.
You need to come to Australia to hear them in the wild . Walking in or near forested areas of Australia one can often hear a variety of bird calls ; the melodic call of the Currawong is special . The Bell Bird with its distinct high pitched bell call echoing through the forest is unique to Australia . But then we have various cockatoos with their rowdy screeching calls . The Australian Raven and Magpie also add to the range of bird calls we in Australia are fortunate to hear on a daily basis . There's a RUclips video where you can listen to these calls . All the best .
