I’d be keen on your take where Calvinist’s use exodus and hardening pharaohs heart as evidence God can decree according to His arbitrary will, how a person responds to Him..
Personally I’ve always viewed this passage as God foreknowing Pharoahs ultimate response and the hardening just speeds up the process of what would have happened anyway
One thing i disagree in the video, is the interpretation of Gods foreknowledge, the passage you cite is not about God knowing who would be saved or not saved but that God ‘knows’ us, in the sense of relationship once we are saved.. it is not talking about his foreknowledge of our response, which is part of His omniscience and this is not even voluntarily limited

@39:00 ……. He leaves out a very very very very important #4 question. HOW does a person BECOME predestinated by God for the wonderful things these Scriptures tell us BELIEVERS Are predestinated for???? WHERE do we get the faith to believe? We are dead in our sin. The DEAD can’t do anything. So how does this process get started?

    • @bill_y4762
      @bill_y4762 2 года назад +9

@@marialamb6781 I doubt he’s denying God draws people to himself. But you are dropping a lot of Calvinist definitions behinds your specific words. For example “the dead cant do anything “…… This gives you away as a Calvinist (because that’s how they define dead)…But does scripture define dead that way?? To me it appears not even close. Dead in the bible means separated from god because of sin (adam being an example). It means having the penalty of sin on you (again adam). The biblical definition of words should be 1. the bible. 2. The jewish context of the authors (i.e the old testament and the ancient near east worldview)….
does old testament define dead as “cant do anything?”…. Do a word study of every occurrence. Its not even close to that. It means separated from god because of sin. It means out of relationship…. Dead is a powerful ancient metaphor for out of relationship … Like you saying to your abusive ex “you are dead to me”. it keans tou have cut them off and walked away from relationship. It’s va metaphor… Your not saying “You ca do nothing “…. thats a mordern hyper literal interpretation if the phrase….
Heres a bible example. What does the Father say of the Prodigal son? “He was dead and now he’s alive”….We can see this is the exact same usage. A the jewish people of the day understood this usage exactly. The sin of the son had broken his relationship to the father.
Whats the advise to these “dead people “. …. also the same as the prodigal son. Repent and turn back to God (not “since you are dead and can do nothing im going to irresistibly draw you). He just says “repent” (which is clearly something the dead person does not god. Can a dead person repent without god? Clearly not but hasn’t the Holy Spirit gone put into the world to convict of sin righteousness and the Judgement to come. Isn’t Jesus the light that came into the world to enlighten every man? (and the lamb of god offered for the sins of the world and not the elect alone)…. etc… Dozens of references. The universal act of reconciliation is offered to all men through the Gospel. Its the constant repeated message of the bible. So he does “draw all men to himself”…. Just not all accept it. Can a dead person do nothing? Mostly no. They cant die for the sons of the whole world and pay for their own sins, they cant open their blind eyes they cant soften their hard hearts etc, they can only receive the gospel when it’s delivered to them. That is literally what faith means (in the biblical sense). Trust in the great work done by another. It is the unwork, the opposite of works (that is at least how Paul defines it).
Its the opposite of working its what one does who’s helpless to procure their own salvation. Trust in god. Its not a work leading to righteousness. Its the act of the helpless and God choose to impute it as righteousness for those whole believe in Christ (at least thats how Paul puts it in Romans). The entire calvinist/ armenian debate which is really just the Augustinian Pelagian debate. is contingent on misdefining certain words (for example Pelagius was the one to break away from Pauls emphasis as faith as a non work and not worthy of wages… and the imputation of righteousness was by Gods grace not by the inherit merit of faith). We we’ve been struggling with that false definition ever since instead of simply reading the book of romans and just believing it. Perhaps the message is just too outrageous. Perhaps our not yet fully regenerate minds struggle to even grasp it (as
Luther said he has to reconvince himself of the Gospel everyday).

@@marialamb6781 If I argued that I can tell that you are not dead on the basis that you were able to type out a reply to this video, you would most likely reply with "duh". And I would look silly. Why? Becuase the dead can't think for themselves nor type out a reply, can they? Everyone knows this is obvious as the evidence clearly indicates you are very much alive. Also, it would be a rather simplistic argument to make.
But in making this argument I would in fact prove something very profound which the scriptrues plainly declare... A fact that you have overlooked with the argument you presented. You see, I can safely conclude that you are very much capable of "doing" something of your own volition by exercising the members of your physical body that God has given you. Why is this important? Because you are conflating two very different states of man as the same.
You are conflating being spiritually dead with being physically or consciously dead. You are correct, as far as that in our unregenerated (not born again) state we are spiritually dead. But you are gravely mistaken to assume that that fact renders our physically alive bodies, that God breathed life into, worthless or incapacitated. You are currently very much alive physically, consciously, mentally, emotionally, etc. You have eyes, ears, a mind and a heart to see, hear, process and respond to the gospel. You can do a great many things in this body including rejecting or accepting the Gospel.
This is why God calls upon all men everywhere to repent. To turn to Him in faith. To make a conscious decision to trust in Him to the saving of their soul. To call on Him in faith, because it all begins and ends with faith. It all hinges upon faith. What must you do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ! Confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead and thou shalt be saved. For all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
And God has given us the faculties to do this. Spiritually dead, yes; physically dead, no. Ultimately, this is why we are without excuse: our conscience bears us witness. Why? Again, because God has given us the "physical" means to respond to the Gospel call. And we will be held accountable for the choice we did or didn't make in this life.

When I became a Christian at the age of 12 yrs.old I don't know anything about predestination nor I know Calvinism doctrine. I simply believed the word of God and that Jesus Christ died for me and rose again. I accepted Jesus Christ and committed my life to Him and I thanked God everyday that whenever I prayed, God sees Jesus Christ in me and not my sins for Jesus Christ righteousness was imputed in me and now I can come to God in pray and worship Him thru Jesus Christ my Lord and my Saviour. Not of my works but by Holy Spirit who opened my eyes and gave the faith and now I have eternal life. There are many ppl who doesn't know how read but when the gospel is presented to them and in God's grace made them understand and simply believed that Jesus is the only way ,they don't need to study further about predestination. It's so hard to comprehend, we believers shared the gospel about Jesus, His death on the cross, He is risen, He will come back again for us. And in the meantime we should all be living a righteous life for Him, and commit to Him our ways everyday for He is worthy to received all the praises and Glory for Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

@@nilsix2371 There is a savior in Calvinism. That's how we are saved. The gospel is that Jesus came to save all those who would repent and put their trust in him. That doesn't change if youre a Calvinist or non Calvinist.
Calvinists believe that what the bible says is true. That before God regenerates a person, takes their heart of stone and gives them a heart of flesh, our default, sinful position is:
      deceitful and wicked (Jer. 17:9)
      full of evil (Mark 7:21-23)
loves darkness rather than light and does evil (John 3:19)

a slave of sin (Rom. 6:16-20)
Non Calvinists say "but we can still accept salvation" in direct violation to "does not seek for God nor do any good, CANNOT accept or understand spiritual things".
Calvinists simply believe that all of that is true. If we can't accept something spiritual in our default, fallen state, then how can we accept salvation which is 100% spiritual? Can a dead man choose to live? Can a slave choose to be free? Is someone who does not seek for God and does not do ANY good, able to do the good act of repenting and trusting Jesus?

Hey Christian, It appears that you are under the false, unscriptural assumption that faith is a work. Scripture is the ONLY authority to we that believe. God's word clearly, clearly contrasts faith and works in many places. Biblically the two are not the same in any way and the only place I know of that you can get the concept that faith is a work you can perform to be owned salvation from God is from Calvinistic philosophy and not the Bible. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (The Bible says people come to faith by hearing the Gospel and not by some mysterious secret will irresistible pre-belief regeneration). Kevin has laid out what predestination means using scripture in a clear and comprehensive manner. If you see where he is wrong scripturally, please post for all to check out. Spouting false assumptions from Calvinism and hurling the unfounded accusation that Kevin is boasting about his own works apart from God is not something that glorifies Christ. Satan is the accuser of the brethren day and night. Please do not follow his lead; let's edify or post scriptural loving correction instead. Thanks!

A Calvinist dies and finds himself at the entrance of heaven. He sees two doors. One door said, "free will", and the other door says "predestination" He goes through the door that said. "predestination". An angel appeared to him and asked what he was doing here. He explained that he saw the sign on the door and decided to enter. The angel told him that he couldn't be here because he used his free will to choose which door he was going to enter. So he left and went through the other door that said, "free will". An angel appeared and asked him what he was doing here. He said, "I had no choice".

This has got me thinking and reconsidering my interpretation of predestination. Although, in 1peter 2 he says ‭‭1 Peter 1:1-2 NASB1995‬‬
[1] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are *chosen* [2] according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
Being chosen still precedes the promise of being predestined at the end of our faith
    And also in ‭‭Ephesians 1:4 NASB1995‬‬
[4] just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love
chosen before the foundation of the world is before the predestination in vs 5
So although predestination may be different from election, we are still chosen to be predestined

The word for "foreknew" in Romans 8 can just as easily be rendered "knew before;." the point being that the word "foreknew" is a relationship term, thus God had a relationship with them in the past. He "knew" them before the current time frame. If Paul is talking about the saints from the past that God knew before now, then it makes sense why he speaks in the past tense about their calling, justification, sanctification and glorification. So then the context is that Paul is saying all believers will be conformed to the image of Christ, even those whom God knew before now (foreknew). The guaranteed future of all believers is the same for all time periods.

17:46, and we finally get to scripture. Eph 1.
However, this guy says that people equate "adoption" with "the *time* people get saved." I emphasise *time* because I have a feeling it is going to be important in a moment. But, no, "adoption of children" is speaking of their ultimate end. Their ultimate *destination*. Time doesn't enter into it.
At this point, I cannot even imagine how the "time" that people get saved has anything at all to do with it, but I suspect he's gonna explain, so I will continue. He says "people" equate..., which I think he's ultimately going to lay at the charge of "Calvinists". We'll see.
In any case, he thinks this "*time* people get saved" is a crucial distinction, because he calls it a bunch of preconceived baggage (not his exact words) that people bring with them to scripture. Frankly, and personally, I've never heard anyone talk about the *time* people get saved as being a factor in "predestination" at all. This is all a completely new interpretation that I'm hearing here for the first time. So, maybe I stand to actually learn something. We'll see.
For the time being, right now, the anchor that has been set is this idea that "people equate 'adoption' with 'the time people get saved'..." Something I've never heard before in thirty years of being a Christian. Maybe he's just run into a bunch of people I've never met. I've never heard anyone claim this new doctrine of his. But it it clear that this is the stake he's setting. Let's see if it turns out to be a straw man he's building.

Katie Marvel yes, but Calvinists say that our turning to sin and evil was our nature was always going to be our nature no matter what. But was sin in Adam before the fruit? No, it was not. God holds us in contempt over our sin (without Christ) because despite having the light, despite knowing what is true and right, we choose that which is wrong, evil, and deceptive. It is the condemnation that is in John 3. We abused the gift God has given us, which is free will in a nutshell.

The Bible explicitly teaches as a core doctrine "personal predestination unto salvation." Along with that The Scriptures emphatically teach that God chooses in salvation. yeoberry -- In the first part of your statement, you try to clarify the meaning of the word "predestination", so which of the 4 passages dealing with the word itself are you specifically referring to, so we can discuss what the bible actually says about it? In the second part of your statement, does the passage containing "before the foundation of the earth" contains the word "predestination" or its derivatives? Just a reminder, the video deals specifically with the word "predestination" and its derivatives wherever they appear in the bible, the video doesn't deal with any other word!

    • @gk.4102
      @gk.4102 6 лет назад

yeoberry -- First, the word predestination doesn't mean "God's choice is the ultimate cause." But I agree with your 3rd point that predestination means "mark out beforehand." Now according to the passage you quoted, *Who* are predestined? And for *What* are they predestined?

    • @gk.4102
      @gk.4102 6 лет назад +1

yeoberry -- Of course God's choice is always ultimate whether or not He predestines anything. I only brought that up to avoid the slippery slope of thinking that the word "predestination" means "God's choice is always ultimate" like you wrote before. Also you actually got it right, let me quote you, "We --*believers*-- *are* *predestined* to be adopted as God's children". The believers (those who believe) are the ones predestined for adoption and not the lost for salvation. And nowhere in that passage or any other passage dealing with the specific word "predestination" defines the word as "God's original decision to save some and not others" like Augustine puts it or like most calvanists believe. I also totally agree with the 2nd part of your statement "...the ultimate choice in believers being God's children is God's." Of course God is the one ultimately choosing to make *believers* His children.

Bottom line is that one must understand and admit that men are totally reprobate & incapable of understanding spiritual things let alone responding to them as a corpse dead in their sins. God has His sheep, and they hear His voice - goats do not. Predestination is God’s privilege to bestow His Grace upon anyone He chooses. This is not injustice, it is God’s prerogative. If you walk into a room with 20 people and five (5) dollar bills in your pocket, you may give any person you so choose a dollar bill. Low and behold you could have made a list of who you would give those bills to, in advance & you could have made that decision based solely... according to the purpose of your good will, having nothing to do with the individual, but instead YOUR purpose. God can do this, and it is perfectly fine - He made a list too, called the Book of Life, & He wrote in it before He laid the foundations of the world (Rev. 13:8, Rev. 17:8). This is so simple - to trust in God the eternal destiny of people rather than their selfish, reprobate, deprived, darkness loving hearts of stone. Praise God that His Grace intervenes in the lives of mankind.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
      ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
      ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
      ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
      ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Don’t take the amount of scriptures sent as an indication that the Gospel is not simple and clear. I sent all these so that you can see how clear it is and have supporting verses that will help build your faith.

I like how this guy swaps the definitions for the words "predestination" and "foreknowledge". Foreknowledge does not mean "to know ahead of time what will happen". As a software engineer, engaged in the task of creating complex systems, when I set out on a new project, I have foreknowledge of my intended outcome. I know that I expect to do this, and that, and thus-n-such, and in the end, I should end up with "System X" that looks and behaves just as I planned it. Foreknowledge is the plan, or the vision or the specification that I have created up front to describe the system I am going to create, and it is used as a guide along the way to ensure that the system I *intended* is the system I *get*. THAT is foreknowledge.
This guy has weirdly swapped "foreknowledge" for "predesitnation" at about the 15 minute mark. I will have to continue to see how he ends up straightening this up. Crossdressing "predestination" in "foreknowledge's" clothes is going to make for some interesting twists.
Saying that we are "predestining" things when we make choices about where we will go, or what time we will do something, or (as in my case, building a complex software system) leaves out a big portion of the word "predestination" - namely "destiny".
Predestination is a declaration of the ultimate end of a thing, not of a bunch of steps along it's way to that end. So, we are off into the rest of the video with a broken definition of "predestination"... so far, anyway.
In case you are not seeing it yet, this is a MAJOR flaw. This is a showstopper. Conflating these two words (if that is what he's doing, we'll have to wait and see) will inevitably result in chaos. Let's see if he can fix this.

Robert Zeurunkl great analogy! as a former film student, I view it in a different way, but basically the same concept. God the Father, in eternal past as the screenwriter, wrote the script to our world and predestined everything, which is what a script is, then Jesus, the Son of God, as the producer of this "film" then paid with His blood and death to fulfill the payment necessary to finish the "film" which was already in production and small payments where being done throughout time but only to foreshadow when Jesus was going to pay in full for eternity the cost of this production, meanwhile, from the beginning of time, the Holy Spirit, the director of this "film" has been maneuvering all the pieces and putting them in their rightful place through the foreknowledge that He has from the script written by the Father, to fulfill the predestined events of the script. Meanwhile, the Godhead has casted Himself as the main character of this Film and we are all the supporting cast and He's destined to win the greatest Oscar of all time for greatest original screenplay ever made, greatest original production ever made, greatest director ever, and greatest actor ever. For He is the king of Glory and His name will be forever glorified! I know my analogy is a little choppy, but it's basically the same premise of what we find in scripture.

There is just a feeling of a killer instinct that seems to pervade the followers of that doctrine. And if you look at the history of Calvinism, you'll see that they have felt quite comfortable killing Jews, and non believers, and even each other. Of course they don't believe in the gifts of the Spirit either, but I know they are still in operation though only when God wishes their use. It seems to be a loveless religion, and if God sends millions to hell without any chance of salvation then I would call Him a loveless God. My God, the God of the Bible is love among other things.

This is one of the most important teachings I have ever heard, it has totally freed me of the tentacles of Calvinism. I know that others out there have been affected in their Christian walk by Calvinism, like I have been. I knew it was taking a toll on my walk with the Lord. It causes doubts, steals the joy of your salvation and stunts spiritual growth, it shames you because you know it is so wrong, and so ugly, but you can't figure out how to defend against it. I came to the conclusion that it would be better to become an atheist than to believe that the god of Calvinism was real. Having been a believer for many years, what you are preaching is exactly what the Spirit of God has led me to believe. I Just thank God that others can discern scripture with scripture and come to the same answer. That problem is, many of those that believe they were chosen by God to be saved, have never really believed that His blood sacrifice covers us from all sin, and they are trusting in the fact they were chosen and are not saved.
And then, they are leading other people to believe the same thing instead of the gospel, First Corinthians 15:1-4'
Galatians 1:7-9 Paul said if we preach any other gospel we will be accursed. What do most of the so called Christians in our apostate churches believe. Every false doctrine. That we are saved by how we live and what we do, our works. Most are Matthew 7:21-23 people who have listened to Matthew 7:15-20 preachers.
They misunderstand that passage also. It is the false teachers that are preaching false doctrines that are preaching bad fruit. It is not the fruit of believers.
What do they preach? That if you keep the law and do good works you will be saved. They totally leave out the only way to be saved by Faith in Christ alone. Romans 11:6. They are the enemies of the cross. They all believe in one way or another that Christ died in vain. They are not saved. The preaching of the cross is foolishness to them who do not believe.

R C Sproul said in one of his videos before he died, that he did not believe Jesus said John 3:16. He said it is in the bible in red letters, but he believed John said it and not Jesus. The reason he could not believe it is because of his Calvinist belief that God could not possible love everybody, and want everybody to be saved.
And, what you say is true. Both Calvinist and Arminians believe the same thing.
The true gospel of salvation by grace through faith is preached, but then is refuted by their own belief system.
They can not believe that all we have to do to be saved for ever is to receive the free gift of salvation by faith alone. Romans 3:28, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, and Ephesians 1:13.
And one of my all time favorite verses, Second Timothy 2:19. That and First John 5:13. If we add works, or law to grace it is not longer grace. Romans 11:6. Should we live a holy life? Yes, but that has nothing to do with salvation, I received the free gift of salvation over 70 years ago, and I am just as saved now as I was then. Not by what I do or do not do, but because His blood sacrifice covers me from all sin. And we all still sin. First John 1:8, because we are not made perfect in the flesh. If Jesus had not died for all our sins, no one could be saved. But He did. First John 2:2. And, Second Timothy 2:4. God wants everyone to believe and be saved. Satan wants to deceive everyone to never come to the knowledge of the truth.

Thus says The Lord: By My prophets have I made My plans known. Yet that which I am about to do is done already, and shall be. And that which I have spoken from the beginning, even to this day, is true. For the will of God can not be broken, even as The Scriptures. And if My every word is Scripture, then how shall even one word fail?
Yet My people fall away, and My little flock grows smaller still. For they seek to loosen these bonds in an attempt to flee this bundle. For the Way of The Lord is not known among them, and My words have ceased from being a blessing. And so they flee back into the world in an attempt to escape, as in all times past, for they have no root.
Yet I tell you the truth, none shall escape their bundle. For all bundles lie in the field already, each one tied securely and set in its place. Therefore as one attempts to flee this bundle, the truth of the matter is made plain. For they have not departed at all, but remain in the bundle in which I had placed them at the first. I AM THE LORD.
Beloved ones, I search the hearts and minds, even the innermost thoughts I know; even from the foundation of the world did I know each one of you, setting you in your place from the beginning. Yet some will say, “What of free will and our right to choose?” To these I say: You have chosen, and the will of your heart has spoken, and thus were you bundled and prepared. For I know My own.
    Thus the Bride is chosen;
My blood runs through her veins,
My image is shown upon her face...
Behold, the light of My coming is reflected
In her eyes, for I have captured her gaze,
And she will by no means look away
    Or seek after another...
    Therefore some are plucked from
    The world already, and shall also be taken;
They shall surely be gone from this place!...
    Says The Lord.

The Holy Spirit is in us:
      1 Cor 2:11-12
.....no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
      Instructing, leading and comforting us:
      1 John 2:24-27
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
      Filling & convicting us:
      Eph 5:18-21
but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
And why is this, and how can we know that this applies to us?:
      Gal 4:1-7
Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
We are adopted sons and daughters who run to our father in heaven, both in good and bad times.
Our assurance is grounded in this, not in our ever changing moods.
Its a promise witnessed by the Spirit:
      Eph 1:13,14
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

You guys can argue all you want. All I know is I was a non-believer until March 1, 2017 when God came personally into my life and saved me. I now know without a shadow of a doubt, that God does indeed exist, and I will do what I can to serve him. How or why God does this, I don't have any clue. Why God would save me, I have no clue. What is in store for me now when I die, I have no clue...but what I do have a clue of, is the existence of God. He personally made a believer out of a non-believer in a matter of seconds. †

This is a fideistic and experiential appeal to support a preconceived idea.
Testimonial data certainly has appeal for persuasion of some people; however, there is no way to validate its accuracy or authenticity. Emotional appeal (some would say manipulation) is the means by which people are persuaded by anecdotal evidence. Especially that which cannot be corroborated, which is very different from the “many infallible proofs” that Luke mentions to Theophilus.
Furthermore, drawing a conclusion from one account would be inductive reasoning, which is the opposite of the inductive method.
This type of persuasion is epistemologically unsound, and will ultimately bear ephemeral fruit.

this is great. I love the sarcasm too because really, when you are dealing with many calvinists, you are dealing with a cult. the cult of Calvinism. it's true. many of them are bigger on Calvinism than Jesus. they want to convert people to Calvinism, even above Christianity. not all but many. anyway great video.

In Ephesians 1:3-12 Paul is referring to Jews (we/us "who were the first to hope in Christ"). In Romans 8 Paul is referring to Jews (those who were once under the law but are now now under grace). Jews are the elect, they are the chosen, they are the ones who were presestined. We Gentiles (Ephesians 1:13) are "included", (or, as Paul says in Romans 11, we're "grafted in") after having believed, and are then sealed in Christ! It's simple when you read the scripture for what it says. It changes everything!
