Fax at first I was telling myself why tf is it so long, now there is me on Dressrosa scared to watch more in case I catch up to Wano.

Trust me no body wishes one piece was shorter once you start watching it and get into it. You’ll wish it never ends man it’s amazing.
something i never realized is oda makes sure to keep his characters more human looking until arlong and even then he has very human features as did buggy...he allows us to get sucked into this world of humans kinda first then starts hitting us with the weird stuff once we get used to it like chopper and wapol

@@razkable That's when you enter the Grand Line. The Blues are the areas in one piece that ae more normal and as such there are more regular looking places and people but the grandline is a place where people from all over come into the frey. Plus the human experimentations and so on. Plus in east blue buggy is the only one we meet besides luffy who ate a devil fruit. in the grandline more people have devil fruit abilities and such.
Agreed. I’ve seen all available sub content twice and all available dub content twice. I constantly want more.
The manga yes. It's really well paced.
But the anime drags on too much especially ruined the dressrosa arc which could have been even more amazing. It did become better during the wano arc though.
When you start watching One Piece, you will understand that no short version is needed because you will want that One Piece does not end
its the one series that you want to last 1000 chapters...its meant to be long form storytelling....you care more about the information then the action....at least I do...you learn new things every arc about the world itself and i like that....the build up payoffs of one piece are meant to be read and enjoyed..its a great manga story...it basically is a long form novel series like harry potter just more detailed that happens to be in shounen jump with panels and superpowers ..its not just a great anime..the manga itself is rewarding too unlike say naruto whose writer i feel is a chump compared to oda....
if one piece could be 10,000 chapters I would fucking love it

It is needed when a lot of scenes are irelevant, excesive closeups, people running and the fact that you can remove hours of it without conpromising the history

and because luffy can understand it unlike any other human, it means hes like roger...who could hear animals talk and had king's haki as well which is a big reason why you can have that power

i dont get why people want it to be shorter. its honestly the best piece of entertainment i have ever consumed (inncluding tv series, movies, video games etc). and its still getting better and better. i wouldnt want it to be short. This greatness that accompanies you through years of your life and the epicness of that once in a lifetime storytelling is not possible in a shorter timeframe

After reading One Piece, you just end up wishing there was more so you can keep being a part of the massive world Oda has constructed.

1000 episodes? Give me 1000 more please. My worst fear in life is the day one piece ends. U guys are lucky to binge one piece from the start. We have to wait 1 week for 1 episode.
Actually One Piece doesn't have much fillers, most of them are connected to upcoming movies but there's a point where the anime starts off with an extended opening and a long ass recap that made it frustrating to watch on a weekly basis because an ep is around 20 min long and the recap spans for about 4-5 min while the OPs run for about 3 min so there's actually just around 12 min of content and thatttttssss frustrating if you're watching it weekly, obviously that won't be a problem for you guys because since you're way far behind then you can just skip the ops+recap and dive straight into the ep and beinge watch it.
Yeah, and i think One piece is doing good with their filler because it's adventure genre. Not gonna lie, I watch all of the One piece filler because I thought they are cannon😅

You cant do shorter version. Its not possible. Every detail is relevant. Only thing you can do when watching, skip all the fillers, skip the intro, outro. You will go through it so fast, you wished there was more. I was at 400 episode in just 2 weeks

It isn't really possible to tell the story of One Piece in a much smaller format because there aren't many elements that Oda included without reason. The 4Kids version would have had a major problem later on because it replaced a certain "character" with an Iceberg in early episodes believing it wouldn't matter.
But there is a way to enjoy the story without watching all original episodes: A fan version called One Pace cuts the anime to manga content which helps in the later parts of the story. Because the anime nowadays is always in danger to catch up to the manga there a many filler and drawn-out scenes to stretch the run-time as much as possible. I don't think One Pace is needed for the first 160 episodes at all because mostly skipable filler arcs helped.
a iconic underrated one piece moment that defines oda as a writer and the adventure story hes telling which has little to do with the main plot but is amazing and always will stick out to us is simply luffy ringing the bell on skypeia....

That said though...I was a little skeptical about One Piece at first too, but it has been massively rewarding. It has some of the typical shounen issues for sure - why doesn't it have more varied femme designs??/etc. - but it has truly made me rethink what is possible in terms of an author's imaginative scope. I'm not saying it's the peak of fiction or anything, but I feel like it says something that chapter 1008 just came out and I'm more excited than ever.
Funny thing is, it doesn't feel like it's just getting published for money!! There is a concrete end goal, and it feels increasingly close, but it's still shrouded in intrigue :)

remember when luffy beat crocodile..the way he does it stil sticks with me...he exposés him to the people and keeps hitting him up which is much harder then down to do and smashes him through to the sky despite his injuries and how hard it is to do so...that was the moment i realized oh luffy winning fights is going to mean more then just he wins with a simple hit and thats it..him winning these major battle will have deeper meaning usually and be iconic how he wins and what it means...same thing with enel..he hits him into the bell...making the story arc come full circle....iconic..he didn't simply beat enel and then ring it after...
there is a fan edited version in the style of dragon ball kai called "One Pace" I'd recommend switching to that after Enies Lobby.
Yea it’s really not an exaggeration when we say you really should start in the beginning. I highly recommend not to watch to “catch up” but to enjoy the luffy and the crew journey. You can really enjoy the story and the reason why we love it. Also just go at your own pace, you don’t have to watch 40 episodes a day. It’s for sure worth it and every friend I’ve shared this with have gotten upset they caught up.
Now they do have a episode special that shows the meat and potatoes of the first 5 members that’s about an hour in a half. With updated animation. So that’s an option just to see if you’ll like it
Exactly, people say it’s too long because they think they need to catch up. One Piece will be coming our weekly for the time being, so watch at your own pace, enjoy, and cherish the journey as much as possible. You are going to feel like you want more episodes after only watching like 40 episodes
Others don’t want to start watching because they think it’s too long but once you start watching it you will think it needs to be longer.
I recommend just watching an episode a day. Or a week. Whatever fits you. Like he said, piece by piece... one piece... by piece lol
Sooner or later you're gonna start marathoning it anyways
For me One Piece is all about the emotions, the dark real-world themes that teaches us life lessons, the mindblowing world-building, the amazing foreshadowing and mysteries that always keeps you curious, the insane plot reveals, comedy and of course the seemingly endless adventure. On the surface level it looks like a really light-hearted show but nothing has ever made me cry more than One Piece. The emotion-filled backstories of the characters instantly makes you connect with them. Even though it's so long the story's just so good that I wish it never ends. One Piece will make you laugh, it will make you cry and it'll make you go HOLY SHIT! 🤯
One last thing: if you start watching One Piece, don't worry about catching up. That should be the last thing on your mind. Like I've told countless others: One Piece is an Adventure. Adventures are about the journey. Not the destination. Think of it like a Roller Coaster. You get on to enjoy the ride. Not get to the end. If you're constantly thinking about getting to the end, you won't enjoy the ride. Thats the mentality you should go into One Piece with. It's not about catching up. It's about enjoying every step of the Journey. Getting attached to the characters. Exploring the world. etc. When you're doing all that? You'll start to dread the idea of catching up. When you become a fan, you'll never want to run out of One Piece.

Beautiful thing about One Piece is a side characters that you might like will get their moment to shine or even get their resolve it's a satisfying show to watch, I found that as the time goes on, some show will just left a bunch of characters like they don't exist anymore and that doesn't happened with One Piece. I mean the very first villain of the show like Buggy or Alvida from episode 1 still have a role in 900+ chapter/episodes. It's glorious just watch or read at your own pace you will not regret it.
characters i wish will return are gin yosaku and johnny ..i liked them...kinda sad we have yet to see them once in so long...

is it that hard to just spoil arlong park and watch episodes 36 and 37 before getting into the series for non fans?...those 2 ep swill hook anyone..trust me..thats one piece at its core..those 2 eps...and then the fight that follows and the set up before it..arlong park is what one piece is at its core...i love its pacing

why do people make it this complicated?..just tell someone who is worried about how long it is and getting into to it to watch episodes 34-37..aka from the moment luffy decides to not leave nami to the moment he says which one is arlong...those 4 episodes are one piece in a nutshell...you get everything in those 4 eps..and you don't need any past information...

yeah lmao a great example is SuperMechaFrieza, when she started her one piece journey her bakground was all Freiza and DBZ stuff, but as time went on, her background ended up being One Piece and Doffy, her twitter and insta bio is #1 Doffy Stan XD
Plus watching it can get reactors a lot of stable views, and is a good stepping point for reactors popularity EX: Animaechan before one piece had 12k subs, after one piece has 154k subs
It's even worse if you live in japan like me. If I wasn't living in a tiny apartment and had more money I'd come home with bags of one piece merchandise every evening because it's absolutely everywhere here. It's like trying to diet while living on a whole cake island..

Worth to mention that Batman and Superman comicbooks had a lot of different autors and more that a few reboots, alternative versions etc. for over a half of a century. One Piece is just one story which is written by only one man.

Its not about the its too many episode its like building a relationship with one piece building strong bond and connection with it thats what makes one piece the best
There is now 1000+ chapters and 965 episodes.
But what's crazy, is that the current arc is becoming the BEST arc really fast. The animation is also top tier for current arc.
not the best but a top 5 arc in the anime cause of the animation...wano is not better than alabasta enie's lobby/post lobby and marineford/post war ...stop it...thats a joke...its right there with dressrosa water 7 and sabaody though in that 4-7 range...i would say its rigt there at 6b. right now next to dressrosa but not those other 2 in terms of what they meant to the story of the series...you need sabaody marineford/post war alabasta water 7 and enie's lobby/post lobby...those 5 arcs plus the 2 post arcs that count changed the game....if you know you know..wano has not changed the game to that extent the way dressrosa sadly did not either....to me when a arc changes the direction of the show its important no matter how good the arc itself was..alabasta is kinda meh now a days but it was huge in the creation of the series future arcs and you need it so its top 5 by default over dressrosa which was more generic in terms of overall impact

Well apparently this video needs some kind of an update cuz it's old a little bit.
So as we are currently in this day on sunday the 2nd of may the manga is on chapter 1011 and the anime is on episode 972,and the manga sales are up to 480M copy,also there are 14 movies and 13 special episodes that aren't part of the 972 episodes,and according to amazon.com(witch is the thing that surprised me)is that there are 273 OVA episodes(witch aren't fillers cuz the filler episodes throughout the series are way less than the half of that),and there are also 1000+ named characters throughout one piece as a whole(including anime,manga,movies fillers,OVA and special episodes).
Also for those who are informed correct me if I'm wrong but i think you can watch episode of east blue instead of watching watching the east blue saga as a whole(witch is the first saga in the show)and i think they have summarized it in the episode of east blue,but that depends on you if you want to watch the whole saga or the episode of east blue knowing that there might be some missing things from it.
It's not about finishing the series it's about enjoying the journey

It will take you less time than you think. Once you get hooked, you'll actually have to force yourself to not binge too much.

i always tell people who are scarred of starting one piece to just watch luffy zoro sanji nami and chopper's backstories...just look up episodes with their backstories...luffy zoro sanji's are very short..nami's is only a couple eps and chopper's is like 2.5 at most...if that does not hook you nothing will..and thats not spoilers cause its stuff from the past...you will be invested...with nami's i always recommend as well episode 34 which is right before her backstory begins and the 2nd half of episode 37 which is after her flashback for some interesting luffy content showing how much he cares...same for the moment he stood up to wapol for chopper's flag...that stuff is iconic to me and will get you hooked if you are worried about the show...trust me...its why oda is a genius

I binge-watched all of one piece in a month but to be fair I had already watched the first 120 episodes on tv as a kid so it was already really appealing to me and easy to get into
a shortened Anime for one piece would be fine, by removing filler(Except that one filler. if you know, you know). But then that would give them space to adapt a crucial part of the story that they have already omitted.
On another note, When I started one piece I was also dwarfed by the sheer amount of content. But the biggest thing that struck me was just how quickly I forgot about the episode numbers and was happy that there was an episode or chapter after the one I was on.
There are shortened movies to replace many arcs. But I don’t recommend it as a replacement for the full episodes.
I started watching from 2008 then after catching up with the latest episode that time I started reading it and man what a roller coaster ride it has been! I hope you guys will start the journey and experience One Piece!

A good alternative is watching One Pace. It’s a fan edit that cuts out anything unnecessary and makes the pacing closer to the manga. Think of it like Dragon Ball Kai, but not official

What's crazy about One Piece is that it seems super long, but after actually reading it - it feels short. The story is surprisingly condensed - it feels like there could be way more to it.
he didn't really say why one piece imo is the goat besides the whole worldbuilding information and backstory stuff...its simple you have a main character who needs help cause we all do no matter how good we are or strong we can't do it all alone so this is his core he knows he can't attain his goal without a crew with certain skills that can each do stuff he can't which is the foundation for humanity working together bonding on similarities to accomplish things and create society in the first place aka our history covering each others flaws and showing stengths...and he frees/rescues each member of his crew both psychically and emotionally from their own issues so they can follow their own dreams and help luffy with his and in turn help the world vs the evils of the government and pirates alike plus they all have mentors they want to make proud from their pasts who put their wills onto them and they all have made mistakes and feel lost in this world but inside are good people who need to be given a chance to redeem themselves and thus have found each other in this dark world and can fix others from feeling the same and chose to actively go against everything against them just for that freedom and to protect their bond...they care for another like family...its an inclusive series..the designs are imaginative as are the powers..its interesting and inspiring ..its grounded with heart..and truly will cover every feeling genre and issue you can think of in terms of broad senses..and it makes you care for everyone that is a main character and uses them all..they are not wasted like in other shounen after a few arcs go by like say in dragonball.....luffy is the heart but hes not the entire story...i love that about it...you feel each strawhat can carry their own side manga same for many of the villains and flashback characters cause while they are all deep they are not over exposed...like one piece is so good you could create like 25 side mangas based off it that could run for 3-5 years each with different leads at different points of their life like say zoro before he met luffy or whitebeard and ace's past together...its basically 1 series that is like a hybrid of d.c. and marvel universes and all those characters in 1 series created by 1 guy..its that incredible ...one piece is not a shounen manga..its a mature novel series that happens to be for kids and its really a universe of characters and stories not just 1 focused plot...
Don't worry about the many episodes. You gonna enjoy all of them, one by one ...
There is a project that condences the anime to the same pace as the manga, called One Pace.
You could try "One Pace", it is a shorter version of One Piece, without all the filler, leaving only the main bits from the anime, keeping it faithful to the manga. It reduces the overall watch time in half.

Idk why people complain about the One Piece anime having filler. It has the least filler out of all the shounens by a lot
and 75% of the filler is not inside an arc..it occurs after or before one...so you can skip it easily..with no worries..
Long anime’s are always my favorite , so much character development and adventures. And seeing them grow and get stronger as they progress

There is shorter version where only info shown in the manga is in the episode, they cut every scene that is unnessesary to watch, it is called: one pace, is a very good way to watch it faster
one piece is a drug. you can't help but get addicted. as for the length, it is not an issue. simply because once you start, you can't stop. you always want more. it's been more than 20 years since one piece started and despite being over 1000 chapters long, it's STILL the king of shonen.
oh we do love it...and we love it even more now. Chapter 1010 is out now and ....well not gonna spoil but things going astronomically badass
The manga didn't out sell Superman and batman (Yet) that's why he said if it went on for ten more years at the same pace it would.

Though if you wanna react to One Piece on the channel then go ahead and watch the anime. Though I would recommend checking out One Pace. It's a version of the anime with all the filler cut from it. It's faster and easier to get through.

Ik I'm really late here but hope you read this if you wish for a shorter version of One Piece you should really check out the One Piece episode specials which cover the different arcs with newer animation and in movie fomats. Start with the Episode of East Blue it covers the events of how Luffy gathered his first 5 crewmates :)
It’s a slow burn, pacing in the 90s was way slower, but it’s so freaking good. Just make it to the Arlong Park arc 🙏
Just watch ur videos. Understandable the Anime has over 900 episodes and fillers of btw. May I humbly introduce u watch One Pace version instead. Its like DBZ kai if u're familar with it where DBZ kai is modified to follow dragonball manga pace and cut fillers out.
One Pace has Cuts and Edits the Anime from 900+ episodes to 450+ episodes following the manga pace. To know more pls watch Randy Troy's guide on youtube to one pace of One piece anime. Goodluck
the main difference between watching one pace and just not watching the fillers is that there is a lot of filler inside the episode itself but one pace reduces those too.. so it is shorter... i am not sure if one pace is close to completion but if it is not quite there yet yo can also switch between the regular series and one pace for the arcs that are not yet edited as one pace.
You can watch the recap episodes at least for the first couple arcs. They mash like an arc into an hour special, but it's all redrawn and looks super crispy.

There is a shorter version of One Piece called One Pace that people have put together buuuut you'd regret it if you watch that. Get the full experience. You could watch 10 lame series' or one that could be one of the best you've ever seen, that you'll grow attached to and become a part of your life :)

After I started one piece I couldn’t enjoy any other anime because none of them can live up to being this good…
How are you guys not watching one piece yet? And btw there IS a quicker way to watch it. It's called "One Pace" and it removes filler and such.
Take your time, One Piece doesn't need to be fast. If you rush through One Piece your gonna be pissed because there's no more episodes to watch. Just take your time and see it as mini arcs.

if you folks do start, don't worry about catching up too fast. Just enjoy the ride at your own pace. It's fun :)
you can skip 100 fillers..that helps...no hate but i like the canon story way more so i skip fillers in one piece...no need to watch someone else tackle these characters and themes...its oda's story man..not anyone else's which is why I avoid all one piece films too..i feel it would ruin them..i feel so close to his characters and world...

If you want you can try One pace, is better paced version more faithfull and Whit no filler
you should watch that movie, storywise it’s the best out of any OP movie, and you really get the feel of how OP is written (it’s quite darker tone/mood than the manga and although the manga has many darker theme, the mood varies)
