Im 24 now and in the past I was very immodest in my actions and in my clothing. I regret it so much. The thought of wearing anything revealing now makes me uncomfortable. Thank God for my conversion and to Our Lady for guiding me to her divine son. 🙏🏼Amen
God Bless you. Don’t let anyone shame you into going back. Dress like you are in the company of Our Lady, Our Lord, and all the Angels and Saints. Because you are!
Me too! I had a spiritual awakening a few years ago, and regret my immodesty as well. I still don't dress very nice for Mass though. Have been meaning to get some church dresses😊
Praise God for your conversion! Don't live in regret/shame of your past. Hold your head up high as you are a daughter of the King of Kings!! Please continue to honor our Lord in the way you now dress as well as all other areas of your life! God Bless you!
Father you have brought me so far I found you as my lord called me to get closer. Now I have finally almost got caught up. Don’t take this the wrong way you are still handsome from brother but I have gone through the first videos and you were so young my point is thank you for what you have done in my life I am going to see you soon please don’t stop doing this I love you father thank you for changing this man that has a very bad past thank you
Women should dress in a way not to tempt men. Most men have to go out in public to work, and have to deal with such women exposing their nakedness and shoving their private area in their face. It’s violating. . It causes sin. I learned this growing up and it's a shame that this generation has not.
I do my best to do this. But whether it is at work, or woman in front of me in the pew, and there is nothing left to the imagination (which is also sinful on my part), I struggle. And yes, Pray for us St John Bosco!! I work with high risk youth (mostly male) and the clothing that some of my female co-workers wear... makes me question their dedication to their jobs vs their ignorance of teenage male hormones. Thank you for your post
Father I brought up in Kerala India , it is a hot country. We never ever go to church with out covering up our body (man and women including youth/ teenagers ) and veil. I am so proud of the culture I brought up like this and till today practicing in our church in Kerala. When I arrived to Australia few years ago it was just opposite but I continued my veil and proper dress code in the church , I am alone most of the time in daily mass and Sunday mass dressed up like this and especially with veil but I thought I need to only look at Jesus and give reverence to my Lord and not going to look at the people what they think!! I enjoy every moment in the mass , looking up only Jesus on the Alter. I feel so respected to my body Jesus has given to me , the temple of Holy Spirit. I love my Catholic faith , I love my Jesus above all , I love my Mother Mary. Thanks a lot Fr Chris, I wish everyone listen and take it seriously this matter . Our Jesus is so sad to see this. Father you are sent by heaven a living prophet for this new generation.God Bless you Father and all Marian Fathers for preaching truth.
I’ve been praying for priests to talk about this lost virtue and the HUGE problem we have not only in the church but in all society. I cringe while at mass seeing both children, young girls and women old all ages dressing in clothing that should NEVER be worn not only in mass but in also in public…first they shouldn’t be purchasing these clothes that are designed to serve evil going against Gods plan.
I noticed that when I attended the Divine Mercy shrine in Keysborough, Melbourne for Mass and one of Father Chris' talk, there was a sign in the foyer about modest dressing standards for the shrine. I do believe that modesty should be encouraged and anyone who comes to Mass immodestly should be spoken to privately and in some cases communion denied.
Dress like a lady, men will treat you as one. Dress like a tart, men assume you're easy. Well mannered women dress with class, not classless. Stop trying g to seek attention by showing your body. Everybody knows what woman/man look like. We don't need examples.
Oh yes . I have seen some very immodest wedding clothes . Until vows are said and rings exchanged . The bride is still unmarried . So dress modestly brides .
Back in the 70s and 80s I asked a Priest about why we weren't wearing veils or hats which went out when the Novus Ordo Mass came in. The Priest let me believe it was about equality between Men and Women, I was in my late teens and early 20s and followed along like everyone else being led by the Parish PRIESTS. I can't believe I blindly followed all the changes too Mass, too Holy Communion in the hand and didn't stop for even a minute to realise what was happening to Jesus. How the people were elevated and holy Reverance was very much removed. No more genuflecting, just a slight bow. My eyes remained shut until the Co-vid lockdowns when I started to research, after praying to the Holy Spirit for discernment and knowledge, and praying the Holy Rosary Daily. It is only when we consistently read God's Holy Word daily and pray the Holy Rosary Daily that the truth becomes illuminated. We must stay very close to God.🙏💕💖
And think about it, in those days there was no other guidance available than the priest who was your own pastor or associate. There was no you tube or internet, so you might have had access to solid Catholic teaching. So while the world was going crazy, many of our priests were also confused as to where the Church was headed. We have to pray for our priests, that they stay very close to the Blessed Mother, and that She will guide and protect everything they do and say.@@vievee2000
@@ccbarr58 My point being that after much study 9 yrs now even the Angels cover their heads before the Throne of God. (From the bible) I'm so grateful, for clarity through discernment and knowledge especially with the EVIL dressed up as GOOD from the Hierarchy of the church today, just as the Blessed Virgin warned many times, if man did not repent and return to God and prayed the Holy Rosary Daily for Religous Clergy and a Holy Vicar on earth that Satan would enter the Church from the Hierarchy down and many people would be led to perdition by the Wolves in Sheep's clothing.🙏❤
Just exactly what my mother told me. Dressing for church attending a Holy Mass is like going to a banquet hosted by Jesus and Mary and I have the privilege to be invited in that feast by no less than Jesus Christ and His Mother. So I and my sisters have to dressed with decency. Thanks Fr Cris for talking about it.
Father! Thanks for pointing out the veil. I started wearing a veil about 6 years ago. While discerning if I would or not I had it in my purse for about 6 months. I was afraid to be a focus of attention but one day I said to myself “either wear it or put it away right now, enough!” That first time I felt more in the mass than ever before. I don’t care if I’m the only one that day, I wear it for Our Lady! If you are discerning wearing the veil: is not about being “holier than anyone else” or about the looks, to me it’s all about paying my respects to Our Lord and Lady while inside the church where He is present in the tabernacle. God bless.
Thank you for your comments! I just purchased my first veil and am discerning if I will wear it to every mass. Praying I can have the courage like you!
@@tanyac.9005 more women are getting that courage. 3 when I started, now about 40-50 and almost all the girls that make their first communion continue to wear their communion veil.
@@tanyac.9005 Im going to be honest. That first time was the worse time. The veil keeps my eyes on what’s going on in the altar. Such a little thing but it has helped my journey back so much. Many blessings to you and your family.
I have been veiling, I’m not telling others I’m holier than them. It is my way to show my reverence to God, my full surrender of my life to God and my devotion Blessed Mother who was never seen without a veil. Since I started veiling, a lot of women in our parish ask me about it. I have card explaining the reverence of wearing a veil and a starter veil always ready for any who would inquire about veiling. So far there are now more women veiling in our parish. ❤️📿🙏
I am glad me and my siblings have been taught by our parents to always wear clean, modest clothes to church . when we have new dresses we wear it to church first . Why new dresses to church you might ask . It is to give thanks also to our Lord that our parents were able to have the money to buy us new clothes .
In Poland we also wear new clothes to church ⛪️ first as a sign of giving thanks to God for having the means to purchase them and second we want to kind of bless the clothes so they last and wear longer ❤
Great Talk Fr. Alar. A good priest once put scarves in the entrance of the church for churchgoers in immodest clothes to wrap themselves, like those in short shorts, sleeveless and plunging blouses, etc. Some parishioners said the church is too holy and went to other churches. More Power Father Alar! 🙏
It’s so sad that people would say “my church is too holy so I’m going to another one,” how is being immodest one day a week in the house of God a thing?
Maybe some people think too much strictness on the part of the parish priest. I totally agree with the parish priest, the church should be a place of reverence and modesty and respect to the Lord.
The Priest is upholding God's laws in God's house of worship, and those unable to comply. God bless keep and protect them. Most precious blood of Jesus Christ, save us and the whole world. Amen.
This should be heard in EVERY parish! Thank you Fr. Chris for having this talk. A talk that has been long over due in discussion. May God reward you for your call to the priesthood. For speaking truth. Amen
I was sexually harrassed by my father my entire life. My mother knew and just gaslighted me (psychological abuse). Thank God for giving me the strength to put my abusive family out of my life. Please God help me with my ptsd, or at the least please let my suffering be an offering to help all souls. I have always dressed modestly and have always been pure of heart. Amen
After 62 years of waiting, Fr. Chris, you’re the second person I listen attentively discussing a very important topic on modesty. I was 13 years old when my teacher in Character Education explained this subject so well that I continue to live in today’s world. My deepest gratitude first of all is to God who provides and sends you to talk to us about lessons on modesty. And my endless thanks to you, Fr. Chris, for choosing this special theme which is profoundly needed in our present modern world. I’m so happy upon hearing this again and so encourage to share this to others. God bless and prayers for you and Bro Mark for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
@@alwaysmisskaryn Thank you, Karyn. If not of God’s light and guidance, it’s impossible for me to write something worthy of sharing. Praying daily for you and your intentions. God bless.
We need character education again, because parents sure are not teaching this. My children did not have the same clothing as their friends, because I made their clothes and got them used to it, by the time they were 5.
“We’ve got to get it back” (this applies for women and men). God bless you Fr. Chris I hope every Catholic Church in the world would be more aware of this and encourage their parishioners to dress modesty. Your message deserves to be spread around.🙏
I can’t adequately express how much I have learned from your ‘Back to Seminary’ sessions, especially your willingness to tackle subjects that are sensitive in our culture. Today’s topic of immodesty is a bombshell - everybody is scared to death to even say the word. Extreme immodesty is a serious issue today and radical feminism is largely responsible.
It’s terrible that when you mention that we should be modest in church of all places people’s first instinct is to say “is the fault of men if they eyes are wandering and looking at my exposed chest” my answer is always: “If I’m a woman, happily married, and my eyes see that then a man has zero chance to not notice it. We don’t dress to please ourselves, we dress for others so if you are dressing with a plunging neckline is because you want to highlight the cleavage. So yes you should consider how men look at you of all places in church. Have a little respect for the married men, the priest and the young men who are supposed to be chaste and for the other women who don’t want to see your “wares” while trying to pray in church.” Is harsh but it needs to be said.
Very helpful talk, Father Chris. When my daughter would ask about modesty and what was acceptable to wear or not, or when she would quote what her friends had to say about their fashion choices, I would explain, "Yes, your body is beautiful and it is nothing shameful, however, it's not for everyone to see. Only a very few people should ever see some parts of your body, and that is because it is so beautiful and sacred." She just turned 27 last week, and I find that as an adult she is both very fashionable and beautifully modest in all she chooses to wear.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!! I am so disgusted by the immodesty of women, and sometimes men at Mass. It is bad enough in public but at the MASS and in the Church is so foul and disturbing it has to be addressed until it is resolved. And they don't even realize they need to go to confession.
Thank you Father Chris for your time🙏🏼 I converted from Hinduism to Catholicism about 7 years ago; I used to wear dresses and decent pants for mass and was told that I don’t need to cover my head…that was fine until a few months ago I started wearing a long dress and a mantilla for mass and I am comfortable wearing it …😊 Many inexpensive long dresses and veils are sold online…❤😊
It's about time someone talked about the lack of modesty and respect for the Holy Ground we enter when stepping into the house of God!! Our Lord and Our God, Jesus Christ, lives there!!!
Thank you Father for giving this very necessary talk. I started wearing a veil three years ago. It brings me a very special feeling of closeness to Jesus, a reverence and quiet adoration. I very much feel like a bride of Christ. More and more ladies are starting to wear veils at my church and it is a beautiful thing to see.
Yes the priests are right and help articulate something that we lay folks know all too well, that modesty is not a dirty word, that some folks have bought into the lie that freedom means doing whatever you want, and that to be a true "woman" means "if you got it, flaunt it," in other words, a reduction of human dignity to well-proportioned body parts.
I agree with you completely. I NEVER go to mass without a head covering. Sunday. A hat. Daily I have at least 15 veils, different colors. I feel it’s in honor. I want to stop all the people in shorts, flip flops and tee shirts. It’s disrespectful
I have just returned from the Holy Land and was very impressed by the churches In Nazareth, Jerusalem etc. All the churches have notices requesting silence and respect and modestly dressed people. Unlike the churches which I have visited in France and Italy which have become tourist spots and for which there is a complete lack of respect and holiness.
In mass I asked our Lord about veiling and if it was still relevant. As the priest walked passed me at the end of mass a lady came into the pew in front of me and asked if I'd ever considered wearing a veil as she had 4 new ones in her bag. The priest hadn't got to the back of the church. Talk about having your prayer answered. A few months later after having worn a veil in church since that day I asked for confirmation and I heard "What bride comes to her groom not wearing a veil?" At that time as a convert I didn't understand the mass was a wedding feast. Your not allowed into pubs and other venues without a certain dress code. If good enough for them how more important than coming before God
I preached this topic couple of times in different churches when I celebrated Holy Mass. There were lots of positive reactions from the people, and YES they’ve been really waiting from priest to address this issue, then another priest said that we should not talk about modesty in the church, just let people come in wearing whatever they want. I was so pissed of for his lack of understanding about Catholic Virtues. Please pray for us priests.🤝
Fr. Chris. Most excellent talk! We’ve needed this for a long time. Please do a short video, 15-30 minutes long that can be shown in CCD classes or during the Mass homily for the young people and the adults in Mass. Thank you so much!!
Thank you Fr Chris for this wonderful informative talk on Modesty, It is important because your teachings are so great, May God bless you & strengthen your ministry, God bless the Marians.
Dear Fr Chris, I’m glad you’re teaching about modesty in church, because, I’m so much bothered with so much immodesty, seeing people wearing like they’re going to the beach!!! 😲😯🫣 After Vatican II, most old Catholic practices had drastically changed, but in my family, we never changed, we still continued praying our Rosaries, wearing our church veils upon our heads, with nice church clothes and shoes !!! I grew up like that, respecting our Almighty God by presenting ourselves respectfully and modestly when attending Holy Mass because we respect our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament !!! 🙏
God bless you Maria. I must admit I fell away from our traditions. But, with the grace of God and these wonderful lessons, and supportive friends, I’m on my way back. God bless you my friend.
@@tanyac.9005 growing up attending Catholic school. We had a little navy blue beanie that we were expected to wear on first Thursday when they took us to confession and first Friday. Sometimes it was part of the homework assignment on Wednesday night to remember to bring it for Thursday and Friday. If you did not have your head covering, the nuns did one of two things they made you wear your regular winter hat, or they would place a clean tissue on your head with a bobby pin. I know that sounds silly, but it was a reminder that your head needed to be covered. These were just different days when you did not pass at church without making the sign of the cross, or when you passed a priest or nun on the street, a man would tip his hat, as children, we were taught to say good morning father/sister. I miss those days. Thank goodness that all of these wonderful lessons bring all these memories, and hopefully respectful habits back to the top of my mind.
God bless you both misskaryn&tanya, for your heartfelt testimonies, days gone by that needs to be renewed, with Fr Chris’ blessings, by adapting the beautiful tradition of our faith !!! 🙏 Isn’t our Virgin Mary look so beautiful with her mantle on?😇
@@mariab2379 Yes she is. Love, love, love our Blessed Mother. Our faith has so many wonderful traditions, prayers and devotions and I’m so thrilled that Father Chris and the Marian priests explain all the symbolism to us. God bless your Sunday Maria ❤️🤍❤️
God bless you abundantly, Fr. Chris Alar, for giving this talk. You are doing the work of God fearlessly and courageously. May God continue to bless you always. This is an issue that is driving immorality today.
Father Chris, thank you for your beautiful, enlightening and empowering Explaining of the Faith Talk: Modesty. God bless you, your Dad, Mom and sister Pam, always!🙏🙏🙏🙏
From South Africa...thank you dear Fr Chris..this has been a great worry and concern on my mind. Our priests do not talk on this. Priests are scared to speak the truth and follow in the way of Christ. It is heartbreaking to see such horrible attire in our Cathedrals and churches around. Does this not mean closing your eyes to the exploits of the devil. We continue to pray for the conversion of our women, mothers and young girls and for strong faithful shepherds in the Church of Christ. Jesus I Trust in You.🙏
Dear Father Chris, Thank you for teaching on this important virtue. The idea right at the end of your talk was brilliant. You compared going to mass with going to a wedding. Jesus is the groom & the church, us , his people, are the bride of Christ. So we should dress appropriately for this special occasion. All your talks are so helpful. Thank you so much for being a great teacher of the faith. You are a blessing to the Catholic Church. Thank you from Wales.
it is also not wrong to wear long dresses and to cover your head if thats what you want to do. Not out of shame but bc you see the beauty in it. Thats why I wear long dresses and cover my head. Not only is it bc its biblical but it's also beautiful.
Thank you Fr Chris good Talk about Modesty. Sharing this to my family and friends. You're God sent from Heaven. Praying for you, your Mom family MIC and all the viewers. Thank you Br Mark for assisting Fr Chris. God bless you, family, MIC and everyone. 🙏❤️
Thank you Father Chris. I started wearing a veil over a year ago for reverence and respect to our Lord. I’m 58 years old and I wish I had done it sooner. I was raised to always dress modestly for mass and every day life! God bless!
Thank you Maria for your comment! I am from your generation and am seriously considering veiling at mass now. What you say here gives me encouragement. God bless you!
God bless you, Father! Thank you for being such a good shepherd to all of us and all those you who seek your spiritual direction. We are truly blessed!❤🙏🌹
I am guilty of immodestly, in my younger years, I’m now finding beautiful dresses at thrift stores. Reminds me of the 50 & 60s retro look. Covers everything and more comfortable than anything in the store Then I decided thru much prayers & I’m now Veiling at Mass. It was put upon my heart, and I’m still shy about it but happy to have the choice Bless you Fa Chris for your Talks 🙏🏻
So sad this all needs to be spelled out, but it is so obviously needed. It is a challenge to find modest clothes these days, but buying modest clothes is the best way to send a message to the manufacturers. The less “material” they have to use, the greater their monetary profit. That practice needs to be snipped in the bud by the customers.
Thank you Fr. Chris for your amazing and wonderful talk about modesty. I remember when I was young my loving parents told us that we must wear clothes that looks nice in the eyes of GOD coz the church is His house in we must show our respect to Him n respect to oursel ves..so until now I never go to church with short or tshirt only.I know one of our church in west coast the parish priest put a sign infront door with no short ,tshirt, sleepers to attend the Holy Mass, He s right its a commonsense its really a self descipline..the church is not like a beach or shop...how I wish parish priest will do that put a sign or remind during the homily. I thank n praise GOD that you talk about modesty in church, I agree n appreciate your words of wisdom Fr. Chris thanks hope people will understand, esp women. Yes in our job we have a dress code to follow or not then no work. GOD BLESS YOU FR. CHRIS AND THE MARIANS. ❤❤❤
This is so key to repairing our culture, our lives and relationship with God. Thank you so much, Fr. Alar for this talk. You asked how we dress for a wedding and showed women wearing veils - so beautiful and respectful as Jesus in 1Corinthians 11 instructs us to do when honoring and worshipping Him. Cover our hair, a source of pride along with our best, respectful clothing. With all the hurt and fear in the world today, I am so grateful for the Divine Mercy RSVCE Bible I received, reminding me of God's love and mercy in all situations, places and time. God bless and protect you. 🙏🕊💐
I absolutely LOVE your talks, Fr. Alar! You are an incredible teacher. Yes, this is such an important topic. Our Blessed Mother at Fatima made it very clear how important modesty is. Also, please, please tell us about the beautiful miracle of the Eucharist that you just witnessed in Brentwood, CA! God bless you. You are such a gift to our beautiful Catholic Church.
God gave me the call to the veil use on March 25th 2021, and the call to modesty on May 13 2021. No coincidence with our Mother's message that I heard months after I've started modesty. To me it been to dress modest at all time and place. I got rid of all my unmodest clothes.
2 years ago we started giving a short Catechism to the faithful before the 10am mass in Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission Station in RoxasCity, Philippines. It brought to our attention to wear proper attire/ dress or blouse and skirt in front of the Altar where Jesus offers Himself up to the Father for the forgiveness of sins and our salvation. To date, more and more women and girls wears dress in before the Holy Eucharist. Thank you Fr. Chris for always enlightening us. ☀️May your voice resound to every heart and convert it to be like Christ. Your announcement of a Divine Will talk makes me more excited and the sense of urgency is becoming stronger. Jesus, I Trust in You.💖 Fiat☀️🕊

Thank you Fr. Chris for tackling this subject -unheard of from a pulpit in my 70+ years ! My husband and I don't agree with Thomas Aquinas in that a woman can dress immodestly, with a low neckline , in public, (is the key ) to please her husband -it may please the other men in her presence too-is she not responsible for any lust she may cause even if her husband enjoys her dressed like this ? This "loop hole" would include mini skirts for those husbands who like legs showing.. I prefer to listen to our Lady of Fatima and of Our Lady of Good Success. The Virtue of Modesty can be described as how we want other women to dress and act when alone with our sons, husbands and priests. This works for men too . Is it okay to lust at the beach ? Our bathing suits and mini skirts in my younger generation , the late 60's were immodest ..only my grandmother, born in 1880 , opposed my mini skirts. My Dad send my mail order bikini back to Sears before I ever received it, when I was a teen. I waited for it all summer, then he told me he sent it back ! I borrowed one from a friend . Lord have mercy and teach us true appreciation of our bodies , which allowed us to have seven handsome sons and two beautiful daughters , after we learned to follow the teaching of the RC Church .
What an appropriate day to air - The Feast of St. Ursula who was a Virgin and her 11,000 Virgin Companions who were martyred! The devil hates purity, chastity and virginity, because the devil hates virtues! Thank you for this timely subject!
It’s very important to talk about modesty in life. The strong winds of the modern culture is sweeping youth into the depths of the valleys and is targeting them to empty them mentally and spiritually. May our Lord Jesus Christ help our young generations
❤😁👍 One Sunday morning I thought, 'I'll wear this skirt, 'cos it will not lead anyone to sin.' (It was a burgundy coloured, A-line, calf-length skirt with an inner slip-lining, totally opaque and loose, which I'd bought in a car boot sale for 99p.😊 A man stared at me as I crossed the road. Tried to chat with me at the bus stop. Sat beside me all through Mass. Married me less than six months later.😊 We've been married almost 28 and a half years. One time, I was clearing out my wardrobe and building a pile for the charity shop, he calmly picked out an item, "Not 'my' skirt."😊😁 P.s. Don't get me wrong, our marriage is up and down, but, I still smile at how modest clothing played a positive part.🙂✝️
My wife has been wearing the mantilla for a couple of years now. I don't what exactly it is, but when she puts one on, it transforms her somehow. It gives her an additional beauty that is not of the mortal flesh. It helps to make her glow with the spirit, as if our Holy Mother gave my wife a little bit of Her blessed humility.
Please take care of yourself Father listen to the doctors. I would be so sad to loose a wonderful man helping leading us to God. God Bless you got all you do for us .
Thank you Father Alar for your bravery and education on this topic. It’s a topic we all need to hear and practice modesty and at some extent can relate with the struggles, especially with the evolving world and norms. We must not conform to this world but be transformed by renewing of our mind. Thank you for the reminder 🙏🏽

When in Rome for several weeks, in 2006/7 I tried to attend Mass at Santa Maria Maggiore every day. I very quickly learnt that a dress code is most definitely required. I always carried a shawl with me so I did not need to use the "Clothes in the box" for the semi dressed visitors. Can't wait to return to Rome as I love the culture surrounding Church going. I FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS HUNDREDS, THOUSANDS of times a day. Amen
This is a topic that I can relate to because I come from a very catholic family that had instilled sense of decency for dressing appropriately not only in mass but at all times thank you father Chris bless you father 🎉❤😊
Thank you Fr. Chris on your teaching on modesty today. I'm pleased to say that at my local church I have noticed more women veiling again during mass. It inspired my 10 year old daughter to want to wear one as well so we just purchased some mantillas recently. Thank you for teaching us that the veils represent women as bearers of life, especially as we receive the Eucharist. That is beautiful 💕
That’s beautiful that your daughter also wanted to wear a Mantilla. I also heard Father Anthony tell us a couple of weeks ago that covering our head is a way of asking for humility.
@alwaysmisskaryn Thank you Karyn, I love all the significant meanings the veil represents. We are truly blessed to have our MIC priests teaching us the fullness and beauty of our Catholic faith. God bless you Karyn! 🙏
I dress up for Mass, singing "Soon and very soon we are going to see the Lord" If it is hot and I have on sleeve less, I wear another blouse on top that covers up. Dressing modesty is about respect for yourself. And we should dress carefully, there is something called skin cancer. Thank you for this topic, I hope many see it!
Thank you father Chris for what is right and just! Ive been Catholic for 6 years. This summer at Sunday mass i had a mom and her 3 teenaged daughters come in to the pew in front of me. I was really fighting feelings of distress most of the mass. The girls had short shorts on that were as brief as underwear.😢 what i came to understand was that modesty that appears outward in dress and appearance is reallt just a physical manifestation of our heart and love for God. I continue to veil, kneel to receive on the tongue even though i am the only one. Some parish member asked me uf i was a nun😂 i told her i wanted to be but i was told i was too old. Anyway, pray, draw close to God and what we call modesty will become part of who you are as you love God wirh alk your heart❤

Thank you for sharing
What a beautiful testimony! Jesus loves to see His devotees veiled out of love for Him!🙏🏻🕊🥰💖✝️
Wow someone apart from me also a Kerala Catholic watching these videos 😍
What a beautiful testimony I appreciate my Catholic Faith and I respect it 🙏 🙌
Beautiful soul !!
Remain faithful to Christ
And thank you for sharing 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been praying for priests to talk about this lost virtue and the HUGE problem we have not only in the church but in all society. I cringe while at mass seeing both children, young girls and women old all ages dressing in clothing that should NEVER be worn not only in mass but in also in public…first they shouldn’t be purchasing these clothes that are designed to serve evil going against Gods plan.
Well said people
❤️❤️❤️🙏🕊😇Thank you Lord
I noticed that when I attended the Divine Mercy shrine in Keysborough, Melbourne for Mass and one of Father Chris' talk, there was a sign in the foyer about modest dressing standards for the shrine. I do believe that modesty should be encouraged and anyone who comes to Mass immodestly should be spoken to privately and in some cases communion denied.
I agree, well said
Yes
If you want to be treated like a princess 👸, behave like one.
The way we dress expresses our character. It really is a message to the world.
Dress like a lady, men will treat you as one. Dress like a tart, men assume you're easy. Well mannered women dress with class, not classless.
Stop trying g to seek attention by showing your body. Everybody knows what woman/man look like. We don't need examples.
It truly is .
Thank you, Father Chris.
I pray that Bride's would be modest in their choices of wedding dresses today.
Oh yes . I have seen some very immodest wedding clothes . Until vows are said and rings exchanged . The bride is still unmarried . So dress modestly brides .
Some parishes require the brides to cover up.
Dressing inappropriately, is definitely a distraction in the church. Thank you Fr. Alar for addressing this bold and necessary topic. God bless you.
Thank you Father! I am in my 60's and I wish we had a priest who had the courage to teach us this back in the 70's and 80's.....
Amen
@@vievee2000I am the same age. We were wearing the veil for awhile after V2.
@@ccbarr58 My point being that after much study 9 yrs now even the Angels cover their heads before the Throne of God. (From the bible) I'm so grateful, for clarity through discernment and knowledge especially with the EVIL dressed up as GOOD from the Hierarchy of the church
today, just as the Blessed Virgin warned many times, if man did not repent and return to God and prayed the Holy Rosary Daily for Religous Clergy and a Holy Vicar on earth that Satan would enter the Church from the Hierarchy down and many people would be led to perdition by the Wolves in Sheep's clothing.🙏❤
Your moma is a good role model
Blessed is she !!!
Go give her a hug 🤗 she saved your soul ❤️
@@tanyac.9005Good on you, I veil, even the Angels cover their heads before the throne of God( it's in the bible)
Wow! Never struck me. Will do the same whenever I buy a new dress!
Our Priest have it posted at the door of our church and we appreciate it so much.
God bless him!!!
How can a church be "too holy?"
That's so sad.
Yeh, we can't have none of that holiness stuff in church!
Amen
Thank you for watching and God bless you
I was sexually harrassed by my father my entire life. My mother knew and just gaslighted me (psychological abuse). Thank God for giving me the strength to put my abusive family out of my life. Please God help me with my ptsd, or at the least please let my suffering be an offering to help all souls. I have always dressed modestly and have always been pure of heart. Amen
I pray for you, I pray that you will be healed though forgiveness. God bless you
May God give you His love and comfort. 😢❤😊
Do you wear skirts and dress every day? Thank you.

I am now wearing a veil in church. And I love it🙏
Me too.
Week #3
Same!
Same for me . 🙏🙏🙏
God bless and prayers for you and Bro Mark for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
such a well said comment

''You can not die of the Eucharist'' . Great point
It’s terrible that when you mention that we should be modest in church of all places people’s first instinct is to say “is the fault of men if they eyes are wandering and looking at my exposed chest” my answer is always:
“If I’m a woman, happily married, and my eyes see that then a man has zero chance to not notice it. We don’t dress to please ourselves, we dress for others so if you are dressing with a plunging neckline is because you want to highlight the cleavage. So yes you should consider how men look at you of all places in church. Have a little respect for the married men, the priest and the young men who are supposed to be chaste and for the other women who don’t want to see your “wares” while trying to pray in church.”
Is harsh but it needs to be said.
Thank you for watching and God bless you
Yes
I wish this topic was brought up to young parents, elementary, middle school, high schools and in spring at every church.
EVERY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS....great job Fr. Alar!
Agree ,it's really very important ❤️❤️❤️
That's why I Love Father Chris Alar teaching it's very clear ,what is right or wrong.
God bless him 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Father Chris for your time🙏🏼 I converted from Hinduism to Catholicism about 7 years ago; I used to wear dresses and decent pants for mass and was told that I don’t need to cover my head…that was fine until a few months ago I started wearing a long dress and a mantilla for mass and I am comfortable wearing it …😊
Many inexpensive long dresses and veils are sold online…❤😊
I just purchased my first veil and have worn it once so far. Welcome to the Catholic Faith!
I'm certain you both look beautiful in your lovely dresses and veils. I want to do the same. :) God bless ♡
Thank you for the compliment ❤
It's about time someone talked about the lack of modesty and respect for the Holy Ground we enter when stepping into the house of God!! Our Lord and Our God, Jesus Christ, lives there!!!
Thank you Father for giving this very necessary talk.
I started wearing a veil three years ago. It brings me a very special feeling of closeness to Jesus, a reverence and quiet adoration. I very much feel like a bride of Christ. More and more ladies are starting to wear veils at my church and it is a beautiful thing to see.
Thank you for your comments on veiling. You give me encouragement to veil at every mass. God bless you!
Those priests were 200%right !!!!!!!keep on going Fathers !!!!!❤this is right thing to do thank you I was waiting for this speech !!!!!Amen
Praying for all Marian Families!
Prayers for you as well, dear Marie. 🙏
Thank you, Marie, and God Bless you and your loved ones, as well.
Thank you Father Chris for all your talks. May God bless you and all Marian Helpers. Prayers for modesty for all children, youth, women and men 🙏🏼❤️📿
I have just returned from the Holy Land and was very impressed by the churches In Nazareth, Jerusalem etc. All the churches have notices requesting silence and respect and modestly dressed people. Unlike the churches which I have visited in France and Italy which have become tourist spots and for which there is a complete lack of respect and holiness.
Thank you, Fr. Alar! This was a timely and very important talk much needed in both the Church and the world. God bless you. 🙏🏼✝️🕊️📿
Thank you. A dress code or code of honor and self respect is badly needed today.
Recently, a pastor at a near by church spoke of modesty at Mass. He did it with such appropriate gentleness.
Bravo for that pastor!
Wow Father. I always dress with respect. I never thought to pray for respect. Thank you for the highlight. 🙏
I thought I was ok in dress but I’m not . Though I dress for my husband, I got nice legs that cause other men to react and unintentionally cause lust.
I got legs not boobs. 😅
Thank you for watching with us and God bless you!
Dear Fr Chris, I’m glad you’re teaching about modesty in church, because, I’m so much bothered with so much immodesty, seeing people wearing like they’re going to the beach!!! 😲😯🫣
After Vatican II, most old Catholic practices had drastically changed, but in my family, we never changed, we still continued praying our Rosaries, wearing our church veils upon our heads, with nice church clothes and shoes !!!
I so admire your steadfastness to your traditional principles, Maria!

I love these talks, i so appreciate the truth.

Give the best to God, as Father Chris teaches us.
Fr Chris's talks are so impressive!
it is also not wrong to wear long dresses and to cover your head if thats what you want to do. Not out of shame but bc you see the beauty in it. Thats why I wear long dresses and cover my head. Not only is it bc its biblical but it's also beautiful.

I am guilty of immodestly, in my younger years, I’m now finding beautiful dresses at thrift stores.
Reminds me of the 50 & 60s retro look. Covers everything and more comfortable than anything in the store
Then I decided thru much prayers & I’m now Veiling at Mass. It was put upon my heart, and I’m still shy about it but happy to have the choice
Bless you Fa Chris for your Talks 🙏🏻
So sad this all needs to be spelled out, but it is so obviously needed. It is a challenge to find modest clothes these days, but buying modest clothes is the best way to send a message to the manufacturers. The less “material” they have to use, the greater their monetary profit. That practice needs to be snipped in the bud by the customers.
Thank you Fr for addressing this. Men should also dress up appropriately . Also priests , especially those who work with youth
1 Thessalonians 4:8 So then, whoever rejects this teaching is not rejecting man, but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit 🙏❤️🙏

I remember when I was young my loving parents told us that we must wear clothes that
looks nice in the eyes of GOD coz the church is His house in we must show our respect to Him n respect to oursel
ves..so until now I never go to church with short or tshirt only.I know one of our church in west coast the parish priest put a sign infront door with no short ,tshirt, sleepers to attend the Holy Mass, He s right its a commonsense
its really a self descipline..the church is not like a beach or shop...how I wish parish priest will do that put a sign or remind during the homily. I thank n praise GOD that you talk about modesty in church, I agree n appreciate your words of wisdom
Fr. Chris thanks hope people will understand, esp women. Yes in our job we have a dress code to follow or not then no work.

I agree that there's nothing sexist about "dress codes". They are needed so much today, especially at the Mass.
Thank you Fr Chris very important issue!

God gave me the call to the veil use on March 25th 2021, and the call to modesty on May 13 2021. No coincidence with our Mother's message that I heard months after I've started modesty. To me it been to dress modest at all time and place. I got rid of all my unmodest clothes.
Father, respectfully: you crack me up while dropping big facts. 💯

Notices outside and inside the churches should be the norm regarding modesty in dressfor women and men
Makes complete sense. So enlightening 🙏
So happy the Saturday talks are back 🙏

One Sunday morning I thought, 'I'll wear this skirt, 'cos it will not lead anyone to sin.' (It was a burgundy coloured, A-line, calf-length skirt with an inner slip-lining, totally opaque and loose, which I'd bought in a car boot sale for 99p.😊
A man stared at me as I crossed the road. Tried to chat with me at the bus stop. Sat beside me all through Mass. Married me less than six months later.😊
We've been married almost 28 and a half years.
One time, I was clearing out my wardrobe and building a pile for the charity shop, he calmly picked out an item, "Not 'my' skirt."😊😁
P.s.
Don't get me wrong, our marriage is up and down, but, I still smile at how modest clothing played a positive part.🙂✝️
That's very beautiful. Praying for your continuous Christian married life.
AMEN...Great topic. Welcome Holy Spirit🙏

I was so glad to watch this. I’m a mature age lady in my mid 50s and even I struggle what to wear that’s not deemed offensive. It goes for all age groups. Great spiritual direction
Amen
Thank you Fr. Chris!🤍🕊
@@Maria_Calimlim858 thank you Maria, and may God bless you and your daughter.
I dress up for Mass, singing "Soon and very soon we are going to see the Lord"
If it is hot and I have on sleeve less, I wear another blouse on top that covers up.
Dressing modesty is about respect for yourself. And we should dress carefully, there is something called skin cancer.
Thank you for this topic, I hope many see it!
Thank you father Chris. This is so true what you say. Thank you for every conference. I am from Belgium but so love listening to your conferences!
God bless all the faithful in Belgium! Glad your here listening with us Marian Helpers across the pond.
Thank you and God bless everyone in Belgium
Yes
Thank you Fr. Cris for this talks I hope all churches impose a proper dress code
More people need to hear this.
