First heard them in '91...i was on a ship and a Scouse lad aboard gave me a tape to listen to of them...been sailing with them ever since, they are my go-to band, and nothing compares to them in my humble, simple sailors opinion....🤙🏼⚓️
I'm here after I learned NG had ripped em off...... I can see it know, these guys are amazing, front man is so naturally talented, glad I discovered this, can't beleive they are not huge
Don’t believe everything you read they helped a young band in the studio they’ll be claiming they wrote council skies next. They were the level they got to cause that was there level.if they had anything about them they’d at least got to bluestones level in the 90s
@@michaelmulhall5007exactly, there's a band like this in every city and big town, better than the usual shite that makes up 95% of bands but not special enough to really do much, these brothers have got serious delusions of grandeur, he sounds nothing like Liam and Noel wrote those 10 plus tracks they recorded with them before they landed in Liverpool , like all producers they made suggestions and helped trim the fat by the sounds of it and yeah Noel clearly didn't "write" Columbia and lian at least should of got a credit, Noel did steal little parts but all writers do and compare "don't go away " To the real people song and it's clear why oasis made it big and they are still scratching about taking credit for things they never did, pair of absolute clowns, if oasis never met them. They would of still made it with those songs, I dunno what people are hearing with this band but this is some of the most generic, bland indie I've ever heard, not 1 tune of there's does anything for me, smaller digsy band were levels above, by their own admission everyone was getting deals back at that point in the North, today this crap wouldn't do anything on RUclips like hundreds of other bands but oasis would still be popular today with liam and the songs , it annoys me how much nerve they've got to think a genius like noel is and a frontman like liam would owe their careers to these chancers
if there is justice in this world THE REAL PEOPLE would be playing every gig as main support for OASIS on the reunion tour and being financially rewarded with a massive cut of the profits.
Such a tight sounding band, absolute natural talents in the Griffith's, but the whole band is smokin' too. And this song, stands up there with any of the greats, I refuse to be convinced otherwise.
They helped produce the demo that Oasis sent out to record companies before they got famous. In fact Oasis were sued for nicking their sound and not saying so on their album. It got settled out of court
@@michaelmulhall5007On Definitely Maybe they have writing credits for Columbia and did BV's on Supersonic. They also had credits on Don't Go Away and Rocking Chair. They also helped Oasis when they recorded their demo at the Pink Museum recording studio in Lark Lane, Liverpool. You can hear the influence in Noel's guitar work and solos. Liam was also influenced by the Griffith brothers vocals. Listen to them, they have a great back catalog. They've also written songs for other artists. They were never going to be Oasis, they dint have the charisma of Liam and Noel but they solidly mentored them prior to them becoming famous. I was in a bad back then and my lead singer knew Garry Ford who was the drummer for The Real People. I used to put weird notes on his XR2i to weird him out but he never knew 😅 He left the Real People in '96. It was a great time to be into music back then and me and the lead singer still talk about all the bands we had on the Wirral and in Liverpool back in the 90s.
Met the lead singer in the mens toilet in the echo arena ,, when they were appearing with a few other bands ,, had a little chat ,, not a bad a bad guy
Excellent song, beautifully played and especially outstandingly sung. The vocal style and use of lyrical line endings is, for me, incredibly late Bowie-like. This came on while I was occupied & for a minute, I wondered, is this a lesser known Bowie song? While I’m a big fan, I confess there was a period where I wasn’t keen on what he was doing, then I was reattached later in his life. Well done, The Realies, just superb. Edit: re Bowie, I’m now no longer a fan of him or much else. If you too know the names Devlin & Williams, you’ll understand. If not, peace.
Hey lads anybody knows where can I find the complete gig on the hotel roof. There must be a fuckin DVD or something I wanna buy it. I fuckin love da realies 😎
Oasis have a lot to thank this band.....they totally ripped them off Even how the brothers are makes me sad this band haven't had the reaction they deserve
It's a crime that they weren't and aren't bigger and more well known. They're class and so is this track!
I was there that night I offered I bring my own triangle 👍
Quite possibly one of the greatest songs ever written sends shivers up the spine everytime...amazing !! God bless THE REAL PEOPLE .

Great song and loved seeing the band play this live on the recent tour.
Beautiful song

Outstanding band
Good find Gibbo
The more I listen to this band ,the more I see another band..
I’m hearing late era David Bowie. And that’s intended as a compliment to The Reallies.
Can you post the full gig?

What effects does Tony have on his set up
The perfect bass sound and I need to replicate it HELP
Now I understand where the Noel Gallagher Solos comes from.... and his constant use of "away"...
@DnB and Psy Production Don’t Go Away. Take Me Away. Fade Away. Slide Away. Round Rway. half the world away.
Superb, any more Realies from this gig?

Liverpool 1-0 Manchester
If they were that good nobody could Rob them of their career
It happens all the time in all areas of life. Edison and Tesla being a perfect example.
