I received this doll yesterday and could not wait to see what others thought so thanks for your review. I like the doll, her hair is amazing (thick, shiny, and well rooted), and the face sculpt is very realistic but she does look a bit sad. The outfit is hideous in my opinion. I quickly redressed her simply by layering a short skirt over her romper in the same fabric and immediately she did not look like she was drowning in fabric. I actually found a picture of Vera wearing a similar look so I was happy about that. You can remove the dress by raising her arms and sliding it over her head. I am going to try different ways to style the dress and may make some modifications by removing the long sheer fabric on the sleeves. I also think she should have been on a made to move body instead of articulated. Overall she was well done and is a great tribute to a fashion icon.
Thank you for the advice! I will try to be brave and try it out. I agree with you, a MTM body would have been better, especially if a collector wants to use her in dioramas and photographs, but glad that she's at least articulated. It's nice when Mattel listens to what collectors want.
Maybe you could lift her arms up and pull the top layer of the outfit up to remove it that way, since it won't go down through her shoulders. These tribute dolls are never available in my area and I'll be damned if I pay scalper prices for her. Lol
Cool ~
Love Snaps

Thank you so much! I hope she finally arrived or was resent. She's a really good doll!
Why does this doll looks okay and not Helen Mirren (oops I meant the Queen Elizabeth II 😂) or Laverne Cox

i am REALLY trying to understand that outfit.
What is she supposed to be wearing??
It looks as though it would be more impressive in human scale.
She’s very well done. Don’t like the outfit. I can see why she’s gone to Kohls stores.
LOL 🤣
Her face looks sad
Very sad. Some people should never have dolls made in their image.
Does not look sad. She looks very happy
So scandalous
