    SBS Transit still operates Seletar Region to improve theire bus service operations in Yishun, Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang with not so many accidents from 2025 onwards. I guess Go Ahead should operate Sengkang West Region besides Loyang Region so that it can has more rules to operate than in 2016 and now, just like for Tower Transit in Mandai Region since 2021. Furthermore, SMRT will focus its bus operations more in the West side so I bet as SMRT wins Jurong West Region is good enough. However, except for Clementi Region the plan for changing bus operators is still not yet decided, so that one still remains with SBS Transit. But hoping that Clementi Region would also be handed over to SMRT Buses.

    I feel like a foreign bus operator or tower transit should secure that region. While tower transit would conquer almost the whole Yishun, I personally like the way tower transit handles the operations and with them securing Seletar, 851 and 852 can go to Bulim bus depot instead using dual depot control

    I think that Go-Ahead Singapore was not tendered in this package is that they aren't interested to have MAN A24 bendies, mainly used for Yishun feeders.

    Simpang Depot is more likely for Sembawang-Yishun Package. As it was closer to both Sembawang Int & Yishun ITH.
    And maybe Woodlands will use Mandai & its Woodlands depots for the woodlands package.
    Just my thoughts based on the distance between interchanges & depots.

    Kind of wanted Go-Ahead to take it but it's not going to happen at this point. Hopefully one of the new operators? Although I also feel that SBS Transit is likely to secure the package for another 5 years.

    Nice Video! I think SBS Transit will continue to be the anchor operator of the Seletar Bus Package leh because TTS already had new bus interchanges and services, SMRT got the Jurong West Bus Package, GAS did not bid and the 2 other bus operators were not experienced. For Sengkang West, I think it will be either SBS Transit or GAS.

    (Long comment ahead, I apologize in advance)
    I will be blunt here: if the rumors regarding SBST willingly give up ops in Sengkang West are true, I do not look forward to the precedence this sets. Remember, the BCM was concepted to encourage competition among bus operators, and while LTA has the final say in matters, the expectation is that they have to be partial and not interfere with the bidders. If we use a North American sports analogy, that will be like the commissioner (the highest authority of a league) telling a team to deliberately throw games to another team with the promise of a high draft pick.
    I bring this up cause teams draft prospects from a pool based on the team's performance in the previous season, so struggling teams get higher priority to pick than the contenders. As much as sports leagues have their favorite teams cause of market revenue, even they cannot directly intervene in order to send the brightest stars to their favorites in order to rake in money, since this directly goes against the spirit of competition (though front offices screwing up their team building is a different matter entirely). Likewise for the BCM, cause if the LTA can influence bus operators to go for or forfeit packages, it goes against the spirit of competition as it will make LTA look like they are playing favorites. When that happens, bus ops will definitely be affected, cause without competition, complacency kicks in very quickly, which is a very bad thing.

    • @andrewsitu3472
      @andrewsitu3472 8 месяцев назад

      It reminds me of what happened in Perth back in 2011-12. I suspect Swan Transit willingly gave up on Kalamunda package so it could bid for Marmion package. Kalamunda eventually went to Path Transit who had previously controlled Marmion and Joondalup.

    Possibility
    Go-Ahead will just go off once their Loyang contract lose.Or probably LTA will try something different for them…Award GAS Sengkang-Hougang & Choa Chu Kang-Bukit Panjang in 2026 and lose Loyang to other operators.
    SMRT is second likely to win Seletar.
    SBST has 60% chance of retain but looking how they hint of winning the Jurong Region Line,LTA might award the Seletar package to new players like Nex Continental Holdings which is formerly National Express.Bravo however has good chances too.
    Personally,I don’t think TTS has a chance for Seletar.Maybe Loyang is a good catch.Their accident rates is high after SBST.
