what the hell wow so I just found out that there is 3 tech schools that teaches automotive/Diesel. The names of the school are Wyotech, Universal Technical Institute and now I just found out about Lincoln Tech
My cousin and friends went and barely taught this much mainly just made them read books, by the time they passed they came out mainly knowing basics which i learned and actually know more just from RUclips and actually worked on cars, your better off self taught good youtubers with fixing cars rather going in debt and not learning shit really
You won't even know how to change oil, spark plugs or change a tire coming out of there. It's all a scam, selling you a pipe dream! No hands on just theory. You work on your own car if you have one with about 30 other Suckers watching you, begging to pass you a screwdriver.
ramrod20042000 the problem with these schools is they have no age limitations.. I found there's a lot of immature guys going to these schools that prevents others from actually learning and usually they are the ones who complains about how bad these schools are.. Lincoln technical institution wasn't terrible they never found me any jobs but I've always found jobs with excellent pay not $12 but $32 an hour.. so it has its pros and cons..
Faraz Nabibaksh This is a for profit Corporation masquerading as a institution of higher learning. Do they cover the theory of a exhaust systems, transmissions, brakes systems & electrical systems-Yes Would you know how to install a muffler, install brake pads or install a trans coming out of there? Hell no! You won't even know how to change a battery, because it's no hands on. Is that worth 25,000? You can make 12 bucks a hour at Jiffy lube with a high school diploma. At least they will train you to change oil and wiper blades.
I find it funny that all these schools advertise these kids working on new kick ass sports cars and shit and in my body tear down area we had an 88 caddy and a 91 Honda Accord that were so beat up from random classes/being put back together over and over. never even got to spray paint on a car just fenders and hoods. I learned more about body work in highschool for Christ sake. I was a high honor and perfect attendance graduate from Lincoln tech and I can assure you I'd never recommend that school to anyone. you're better off going to a body shop and asking to be an apprentice or a floor sweeper to get your foot in the door.
Nothing sophisticated about today's cars. All they did was add new sensors to the computers. Same engine and transmission engineering pretty much. When cars can glide through the air 5 feet off the ground then say "sophistication"
Im looking forward to get more information to see if this is the school i want to go to get into the automobile industry. Lets see what happens
6 years later. Have you thought wnat you want to study?
