got depressed the other night and had to turn this speech on myself

TheJeniferLewis You are blessed and even in the dark days Ms Lewis. I'm young I have to show respect! I don't know you personally but I love your light. Let your light shine in the dark days to fight for your beautiful soul!
Because of you and other beautiful people like you I'm able to get through the dark days!! I respect you as a person and as a big sister mom and coach from a distance.
Know that God is always within you. Remember In the dark days. That in the shadow of death you should never fear evil. Because it is a attack from the devil to put you down. This thing your are battling with is there for a reason. You are a through soldier and a chief to be able to thrive through the dark days! Because of God and seeing you I am able to fight my battles. I have also a loving support system. I loved in the prince bell air all the way to black-ish!!
Keep fighting and thriving. Because I can see your light growing more and more. Thank you for beeing so open about bipolar and depression. You are brave to be fragile. When we give our darkness to the light the devil has no power of us.

That's what I'm talking about! I can't use that particular language, but "the truth" like she gave it is what I try and give to my students. It's a shame that many of us would only rather hear the "frosty, sweet, 'give me hug'" version of how life is. If you want them to excel, tell them how it really is. Because when they hit "the stage" of life for real, life will either boo them off or give a standing ovation, but only when and if it feels like it. Either way, life will go on.
