Yeah, but if you want to avoid companies that use sweatshops, you better stop shopping at Walmart and Target too. Or purchasing from any of the 2,000 well-used brands that Nestle owns.

@123Juissi123 I'm not sure where you live, but European companies use just as much slave labor. It's not just a North American thing. Also, Nestle is a Swiss company. They just own a crazy number of brands all over the world.
On getting a temu shop I had the sinking realisation that most of the stuff in the West, even stuff made there (unless made from complete scratch- and I am talking the materials used to make things here), have shady origins. I in no way believe the whole “ethically made and sourced” thing because I question what it takes to make something 'ethical’ (seems providing food, education, health care to workers is ok…). I also realised that the reason that things from technically ethical stuff that look the same are only more expensive because of capitalism. Why not get it from the actual source rather than a third party company that is presenting it as 'clean' (but charging 100% more) when in all likelihood it came from the same factory?
I think middle age is making me far more cynical.
@@candacel3305 Absolutely. However, can you live without food? Diapers? Toilet paper etc? No. Can you live without that one gadget you ordered online for $5? Yes. Absolutely you can. Can you live without a hola hoop exercise thing? Yeah. Can you live without a t shirt that has male abs printed on it? Yeah. Personally I haven’t bought new clothes in over two years. I thrift and buy second hand. I also reuse (old t shirt makes an excellent rag for cleaning the bathroom etc) You can’t keep defending mindless purchasing and RUclipsr hauls. I buy sustainably sources coffee beans and chocolate and I get local produce as much as I can. There’s always a way.
