They bringing it back. What a time!
I am loving this series you are doing. Such an amazing example of a MX-5.
Thanks for the feedback!
I have one of these and love it! Definitely the top of the MX-5 range. Unfortunately, due to recent retirement, it is now up for sale. I will miss it.
We could be interested in purchasing that if you are in the uk?
I would have thought retirement would be the ideal time to enjoy it more.
Nice to see a video on the RS! - I own the one imported in 2016 and restored by you guys, you gave it a full respray too!
Good to know it’s still about, we haven’t seen it since we sold it!
How hard are they to partially repaint - I have one in New Zealand that has a ding in the front LHS guard.
Another great video, I wish they would be longer! Waiting for the next episode
We agree, this one did turn out shorter than we hoped, but that means we can do follow up videos at a later date 👍🏻
Great video, I am so pleased 'Toffee' got a good home!
Toffee is well loved 👍🏻🙂
Loving the series. Keep it up!
Thank you, keep an eye out for the next one!
Great video, looking forward to watching the next one!👍
Thank you, the next one is a good one!!
I have one that I’m rebuilding, unfortunately the seats were sold and some other bits were done to it before I got it. I replaced the bilstien blown shocks with Meisters. It’s on the register on the owners club.
Ive still got my 1993 white one, garaged most of its life, just under 97,000km on the clock. Weather here in South Australia is very kind to cars so no known rust. Only had tyres timing belt brakes and clutch master cylinder work. Regular fluid changes. At 76 its getting harder to get in but once in don't want to get out. Even still has original rear plastic window but getting harder to see out of it meguires Plastex polish helps. Value getting close to purchase price.
That sounds amazing, have you owned it from new?
@@lightsuplightsdown3018 yes
Wow!!
Sorry lads i don't agree,Its just a S-Spec with different seats and a cop out sticker rather than a badge, but massive respect on your journey of where you are today.
We would love to learn what factory mk1 you think is the ultimate, perhaps we can do a review on that at a later date.
The ultimate is the very first one, the SNC,the NA MK 1, otherwise we would not have all the other copies and variants which were mainly just cosmetic changes( bar a few solid changes, but that's for another day) as they went through the different MK's to pick from as they progressed through production changes to date, we will all have an opinion on which takes our eyes or how they perform in standard set up ,MK 1 to the MK 4, as just like yourselves i have been around a long time with these Roadsters and been extremely lucky enough to of been an importer and tried every variant as i have worked on over the years Jap and UK, i have my own personal choices, which are just that ,I personally own a good few and not all MK 1's, in standard form all are ok, whether its a black, red or green badge (mk1), but with the correct tweaks with out spoiling them ,they all become different machines to wear and be enjoyed, far better than when they left the factory, as for the scene we are in , i think we are very lucky to have so many choices to suit everyone's needs , be it classic retro lines to the modern curves, engine sizes, and gearboxes, in a massive choice of cosmetics to please the eyes and put a smile on your face every time we look at them and start them up, and then take them out roof down on some twisty turn's.
Less than 10 seconds in and he forgets the Gleneagles ;) (apparently USA had the M-Edition).
A couple of sites say Montego Blue was a standard colour option for owners in the US).
Fair comment, I did forget the Gleneagles :-)
My 1995 1.8 import (non special edition) appears to have a torsen 4.3:1 ratio rear differential. Was it an optional extra for standard models?
4:3:1 final drive sounds intresting can you provide any more info on that one?
What else would you like to know?
Sweet car! Doubt I'll ever see one in person (unless I visit your shop). Are people cloning them for dodgy resale?
As our number one video commenter, you need to pay us a visit! 👍🏻
@@lightsuplightsdown3018 Will Ash make a cuppa for me?☺
How much for the rs
The only standard 5 I’d replace mine with
What is your current 5?
Did you do a video of the S-limited before you sold it?
Yes we did, it’s one of the six videos in this series, so keep an eye out for it
Will definitely try to reproduce this car in GT7
We would love to see that if you get it done
I wish Mazda still made slightly "hotter" MX-5s from the factory... I've got a mk4 and I was considering having a turbo fitted, but because that means the car would be "modified" it would do silly things to the insurance premium. A factory turbo would be much less painful.
Yes it would be nice if they collaborated with someone again like they did with Bbr with the mk1
Very nice ❤
Thanks 😊
That looks like satellite blue, not montego
It’s defo montege blue 👍🏻
Such a shame to sell something cause of ulez. I will not be selling mine that's for sure nor pay ulez.
Yes it is a shame, and that was before the ulez extension!
