Cheers Martyn 👍🏼👍🏼
what a job your doing there koi mate , well done
Thanks koi mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Easiest way to drill a hole to a specific depth is the measure up the drill bit and then wrap a bit of electrical tape around it. You then drill down until you reach the bit of tape. Saves having to keep measuring with a pencil. A bit late to give you a tip like that when you've finished but hey ho lol. It's looking really good Mike. How long until the fibre glassing? I love plain wood but as you already have the fence panels painted black I think I'd have to paint it black as well and maybe some red highlights. Are you going to fit lighting to it as well?
Hi Jim
Yea agreed think I was checking on the dust also 😂🤣once I get the inside tidy and have sorted the slope out properly I will let him know think he only needs a few weeks notice .
I am hoping to put some form of lights on it mate
All the best Mike 👍🏼👍🏼
Top job with the pergola 👏🏼
Wouldn’t less daylight be an issue for the koi?
Hi mate all my light comes in through the front as the sun faces that way I can always put a clear panel in or remove one for the summer if required
Should stop the Herron view now from above
All the best Mike 👍🏼👍🏼

Fair enough lol 😂 👍👍
I would change the new posts to full length better than the joint in the middle
Maybe at a later date it’s rock solid they are better than nothing there, can’t believe the price on timber at the moment 👍🏼
Mike for the price of two new posts the pergola would look finished. Get rid of those metal joiners I am confident you will regret it if you don’t.
Hi Paul I know mate I just need my cash to crack on at the moment I can always pop 2 posts in a few months
All the best Mike 👍🏼👍🏼
Wow, Mike 👍
Pergola looks amazing.
Koi are looking great still in their temporary home.
Won't be long now.
Cheers chris much appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼
Coming along nicely now bud 👍 why is it when ever your doing jobs that require calm wind you get gusts 🤣 was trying to put my underlay and liner in last week and it was blowing everywhere 🤣🤣
Hi Jamie , yea I don’t know weather always does something let’s hope we get plenty of sunshine this summer
We both getting there now mate 👍🏼👍🏼
All the best 👍🏼👍🏼
@@jiffsterkoi yeh 👍 cheers bud keep up the good work 👏
@@keepingitkoi you too, when is your next update out 👍🏼
@@jiffsterkoi every Saturday and every Wednesday 👍
Yeah you’re need another post in the middle
Hi Mike, once you've drilled the hole in the block and the wooden post does the threaded bar just sit in there loosely or did you put bonding adhesive in the holes?nearly ready to my pond roof and looking for ideas
Hi josh no the post just slides over the threaded bar there is a slight bit of play but I thought it best to do that so it had a little flex in high winds etc
It’s been great so far and it really helps shelter the pond
👍🏼👍🏼
@JIFFSTER KOI I'm debating weather or not to put bitum corrugated sheets on mine and a bit worried about the wind taking the whole thing away. My pond is only 3m x 2m so the pergola won't have the weight your has. Going to have to bolt it down I think! Last thing I want is to be collecting a pergola from 3 doors down 🤣🤣
@@azzidoo33 haha you certainly don’t want it blowing away 😀
Good size pond you are doing 👍🏼you could use the post brackets if you want to secure it down and maybe make a little box shape to go arround them to hide the bracket ?
@@jiffsterkoi ruclips.net/video/n9FdeUFi01c/видео.html will do another video showing my progress in the next day or two
@@azzidoo33 looking great josh be a cracking pond 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice construction looks solid but would have preferred a solid piece for the posts than using a red bracket. Could consider using more thread to join wood together then perhaps some 22mm wood to hide the join. I think seeing the red brackets might anoy you after a while. When cutting holes in blocks use oil to keep the concrete from blunting the teeth. Remember concrete can take 28 days to cure I would be concerned with having a solid roof as your lily's will not get much sun light. You could consider cutting a square skylight and using some plastic sheeting on top to allow sun light in pond. Some people say its good to have a solid roof to stop algae but no sun light is also not good especially if you have plants. As for the wood it looks good natural but you may wish to seal it i suggest Everbuild EVBLJCR05 Wood Preserver, Clear, nice build keep up good work. Your almost their.
Hi mate yea may swap them out in few months didn’t want to pay another £75 for 2 posts at the moment , you can’t use oil some core cutter work well with water but mine was a dry cut .
I can always put a clear panel in the roof at anytime they be easy to take out
Loads of options if I need to make any changes in the future
Thanks for the comments all the best Mike 👍🏼👍🏼
