"Kingdom of the Shades" from 'Hazel Steps through a Weathered Home' by IN GOWAN RING

As I think back about it, I’ve had a habit over the years of building harps and leaving them in various places. Without a proper set of tools they tended to amateurish looks, though they could always be properly tuned, an advantage of the simplicity of the instrument and which made them yet useful on recordings. One of these harps may be heard in ‘Kingdom of the Shades’; It’s the one I built in Sintra and left with Marta who played viola with me for my last show of that period of time in Portugal. I made a few other instruments at that time, but don’t recall exactly their shape or who ended up with these-I didn’t have room to take them with me when it was time to leave.
