This was heartbreaking to me i was crying. In my city there was a man who injured 15 people and killed 10 people. Someone even died to the hospital. Got home at 3 pm Helicopters in the sky. Massive error of judgement to simply arrest this individual. As a trained Police Officer, you would have to assume that the Van was packed with explosives capable of killing more innocent people. The Officer, though brave, dealt with this incident like a normal traffic stop. This situation sadly demands lethal force and should have been done immediately. To say that the police man and those around were lucky is a massive understatement.

If its mental health congress needs to apply funding to the medical professionals to get help to those that need it. If its radicalisation then we need to address that though muslims do not believe practice this kind of toxic behaviour towards life there is a problem in the community that should be spoken about openly. That's true, there were NO gun shots, there were a lot of witnesses, there was a stroller that got hit but no reports of a baby or at least I hope not. Many of the witnesses were of all backgrounds and some very shaken up young Iranian men gave a clear account of the scene and one very good witness who would not give information to the reporters before speaking to the police. The police and witnesses handled themselves very well but the reporters did not, except the CBC. There is a lot of witness video streams and there wasn't one gun shot. CNN lies a lot.

Guns aren't a right In America, either you arent American or you have no understanding of American laws or the constitution. Depending on your criminal background or mental health status you can legally be denied guns or have them taken away. If Dylan Roofs background check would have come back before the gun store sold him his gun, he would have not gotten it because he failed it.
Over 90 percent of Americans support universal background checks and they don'tt want it to be legally possible to get a firearm without a background check passing on you.
I'm against assault weapon bans, as well as bans on full auto weapons or high capacity mags, I do however think that any Americans should have to prove they are proficient at using and maintaining any firearm they use, as well as passing background checks.
The constitution grants weapons to "well regulated militias" and individual gun owners with no training and a history of violence are the exact opposite of that. Nowhere did our founding fathers say that every American person is guaranteed the right to a gun, and the argument that the militias should have the same weapons as needed to tske out a government essentially leads us to arming private citizens with nukes and anti tank missles. Go ahead and aquire some enriched uranium and see How the FBI feels about it, make sure to explain that its your second amendment right.

Some of theses comments are disgusting making it a political thing about how vans will kill more then guns or how it is religious and it is just awful. I live not too far form this horrific attack. There were not any gunshots reported or witnessed, it was an evil lunatic lashing out. His name is Alek Minassian and he is now in police custody.
