I think we can tell by watching the show for so many years that Chris Doumitt deserves that ashtray for the kindness and respect he shows everyone. Good on Parker for showing the same kindness and respect back. There is a true friendship here that goes well beyond a working relationship.
Parker is quickly becoming the king of the Klondike. Parker has a great crew and he seems to have calmed down a lot and is treating them better than he has in past seasons. He’s made his share of mistakes this season but with every mistake comes knowledge. For Parker to be so knowledgeable about gold mining at such a young age can be attributed to everything he learned from his grandpa and I’m sure he would agree. Parker doesn’t have the experience that Tony Beets has but Tony has been gold mining for about 4 decades.
Hard to the king of the Klondike when your leasing ground from others . Its like being a king but you have to rent your Castle and would he be this successful without the backing of Discovery ?
I absolutely love how Parker has grown up. Used to be like a spoilt brat, but now he has people skills and knows how to run a team. You get respect from giving respect ❤️👍
A stock of o-ring materials in every diameter they will ever need plus a few cyanoacrylate adhesives would be a helpful addition. Even o'rings that are manufactured like a tire bead can be made by hand if you absolutely need to. A maintenance department that specializes in minimizing downtime would have a record of every part and stock on wear items. This can develop into a downtime prevention team. Perhaps an improvement that may come later although having your equipment sit out the winter is a tough one. What's the range of downtime cost per second? With around the clock production... $600,000/7/24/60/60 ≈ 99¢ per second, $59 per minute, $3,571 per hour and 85,714 per day for loss to production due to downtime. A choked bottleneck in production can certainly add up.
I didn’t expect that from Parker with respect to the birthday gift. That is one expensive ash tray and gift. Receiving a $12,000 birthday present says a lot about Parker’s character. Never saw that coming or expect him to be so generous. Much love and respect to Parker for that gift. He’s on the right path…he’s come a long way in maturity since working his grandfather’s mine❤️🙏👍🙂
12k to Parker is like you giving your child $2 for their chores. Its relative, he could make them all millionaires and still be a multi millionaire with a couple hundred million dollar gold lease. Think of this like a golden carrot for the slave class and its more accurate.
@@11kungfu11 Dont forget that there is alot less profit then you would think, manpower, machines, repair, oil, gasoline to run it all, it takes a huge bite out of the earnings.
@@Sarge80 more profits than you know. A $12k bonus, is no joke to the workers, who make $140k in the 6 months of mining. But to the big boss, that's hardly anything. It costs $770-$12,000 all in, to produce one single ounce of gold. Parker runs way down at the lower end of costs. The price of an ounce of gold, $1845.43 per ounce. Even shit mines are making around $600 profit per ounce, and well run mines like Parkers, make a lot more profit. He is worth about $10 million, just from his short 11 year mining career, and owns his own mining property. Plus, each person on Gold Rush, make $10k-$25k per episode, Parker being one of the higher paid people. So he gifted half of an episode, worth of the shows money. Not really even affecting his mining profits. Besides companies can basically use employee bonuses, instead of putting the money towards the taxes they need to pay. Finally it's considered $12k worth of gold on the market. It's not how much it actually cost Parker, to get that amount of gold. So really he's giving around, a $6k-$7k bonus. Something I've gotten on construction sites, for finishing well under the scheduled time, aka being more productive than expected. Just like these guys do for Parker, despite his high demands.

I honestly believe that Chris joining up with Parker was the smartest decision he ever made. When he was with Todd Hoffman, he was sinking further into debt. Now, he is making money that Todd will never see. On top of that, Parker has come such a long way in his career choice. He wanted to be a gold miner like his grandfather, and he did. Yes he has his moments, but to see how far he's come since he took over the Big Nugget mine his grandfather owned, is amazing.
I see alot of Hoffman Stan's claiming Todds son Hunter has alot of success ahead of him and will be far more successful then Parker despite Hunter showing zero evidence of that promise. All the millions of gold over the years and there is stress over needing a $5 o-ring ….they should have spares for all things like this that need regular changing or could stop work , then cause travel hours each way to a machine store for a replacement worth a few bucks !
