When I was in this area I went for a bicycle ride....in one of the villages I passed a man walking....his face was.....GONE.....no nose....one eye gone....in this area it was obvious to me what happened to him. Poor guy. When you see stuff like that and all the signs of bears around you better take it SERIOUSLY. I might hike there if I can get hold of bear spray.

@@bradbel Still! Tried to rent a car today...all taken. No bear will eat me. I AM THE ONE WHO EATS BEAR. I am the danger, hehe. But it is true I get more scared of bears the more bear stories I hear...
@@bradbel in Tusnad area he's actually right to be terrified, even the locals there are super worried, it's been an issue for years, they are desperate to find a solution cause there's even a saying that you're more likely to meet a bear walking to a restaurant in Baile Tusnad than you are to meet one hiking to the lake(where there's also a ton of bears). I was in Balvanyos some years ago at a hotel and they very much insisted not to leave the perimeter close to dark or after dark.
